Those first few weeks were tough for me, but Rose was so kind and understanding. She sent me photos of Wyatt throughout the day and kept in touch so I always knew he was doing okay. That meant everything to me. Since starting with Rose, Wyatt has completely blossomed. His language has taken off, his social skills have improved so much, and he absolutely loves his routine of going in the mornings to see his friends. She LOVES all of her teachers: Ms. Sam and Ms. Tina. We noticed a huge improvement during the first couple of months after transferring her here from another pre-school. She barely knew her Alphabets at the time, but after only a few months, she was able to read a few simple words. Mrs. Lee, the principal, told us when we enrolled our daughter that she would be able to read and write by the time she finishes her Pre-K and honestly I was a little skeptical then. However, she was right! By the time our daughter graduated from Kindergarten, she was able to read at a 2nd grade level and pretty much done with her 1st grade math curriculum. Besides focusing on academia, the teachers and the principal gave their students many opportunities to play, do their arts and crafts, dance and perform on stage. Their tuition even included weekly Taekwondo lessons. The school also organized additional fun activities with outside vendors such as mobile petting zoo, field trips etc. All the kids got to perform on stage twice a year (at Christmas and graduation ceremony) and we enjoyed watching all of them so much. It was incredible to see how the little ones were able to learn and do so much more than we thought . Ms. Sam is the sweetest, most energetic and effective teacher we have ever known. She is definitely loved by all of her students. We are glad that we have decided to keep her there for her Kindergarten year as I was tempted to put her in a tuition-free public school. In our opinion, it was worth it to pay for the additional year due to the invaluable lessons and experiences the school offered. Now we wish this school offered higher grade levels so we can keep sending her there. This is a Christian-based school. Even though we are not Christians, we are glad that they teach the kids to be grateful, kind, loving and be aware of God's presence. They learn to be thankful to all the blessed things they have. They learn The Pledge of Allegiance and national anthems of the U.S. which are all great things to help building a child's ethical and moral values. Garden Grove 1st Preschool and Kindergarten has really exceeded our family's expectations. We truly can't thank the teachers, Mrs. Lee and the staffs enough! The school itself is incredibly lively--the front office, doors, and classrooms are always beautifully decorated, often showcasing the children's work and following holiday themes. It's such a warm, joyful environment for learning. When my toddler started at Dragonfly Academy, she was still on diapers, and I was lucky if I could get her to even sit on the toilet. Thanks to the patient and dedicated teachers, she's now fully potty-trained! It warms my heart to see how much she loves her teacher, Ms. Huong, and how excited she is to talk about her classmates. She also comes home with her hair tied in cute hairstyles that are much better than I can do at home haha. I've had the chance to attend several events like the pumpkin patch field trip, the Halloween parade, the Thanksgiving potluck, and the Christmas concert. I watched my daughter, along with other toddlers her age, confidently get up on stage to sing, dance, and follow choreographed moves. Her attitude and the way she handles herself is less than professional and would never trust her with children. As a parent, you understand the hard work it is taking care of children, you understand things happen, accidents happen, situations arise, but communication and empathy is key. Do not send your children here. Each child care will have its own ups and downs, but I truly do not feel comfortable leaving my children here.

She crammed 18 toddlers into a tiny room with not enough toys to share. My coteacher and I did the best we could to make each child feel cared for, but we were severely understaffed. There were many small things she was negligent on but the worst was when she told me not the change their diapers unless it was poop because she didn't have enough staff to take care of "just pee". She would water the lawn and create huge puddles of water where the children played. She would get mad if the children played next to them/in them (what kid can resist a puddle?!). I tried to offer to stay after hours to water the grass (because giant puddles are hazardous for small children in an understaffed school) but she would not compromise. I worked in the two year old room and sometimes they would cry. Every time, Christy the director would come in a reprimand me for letting them cry "too loud" and "she couldn't focus on her paperwork". (I would try to help them work through their feelings and comfort them but she just wanted me to shush them). Christy truly was two-faced. She will be super engaging and nice when you first start your job or enrollment there, but if you don't dance to her tune you will feel her wrath lol. Don't enroll your child here, you do not know what goes on behind the scenes.
