Quaint little Indian restaurant that has been around for over 50 years. Menu is also a pictorial history of the restaurant and its first chef, the grandmother of the current owners. In New Zealand spices and heat in foods are very mild compared to what I am used to. A large part of their business is carry out which they call take aways in New Zealand. So I ordered my food very hot and it came very hot. I had the butter chicken which came with basmati rice, the papadam and a piece of onion nan. The butter chicken was delicious and well spiced. The rice very good, papadam and onion nan good. Recommend that you order hot only. read more

This place has great seating and parking. The bathrooms are new and clean. The Indian food is impeccably authentic and delicious. The service is fantastic, which can be challenging to find in New Zealand! I'm so glad they're here in Timaru! read more

Dinner tonight for two. Looked like it might be a good bet for a nice tasty early dinner. Yes! It was! Split a Rogan Josh chicken. Very nice complex flavor, ample size-good service. We recommend. read more

Best curries I've had in NZ! I'd consider myself somewhat of a connoisseur of curries (coming from Bradford, the curry capital of the UK) and I've been repeatedly disappointed by the Indian cuisine all over the country. Needless to say I didn't have high hopes for Little India but I am very, very pleased to report that after dining here with my partner twice in four days and trying different starters as well as mains, that the food is as authentic as I've had in two and a half years living here. I'd highly recommend eating at this restaurant if you like tasty, authentic and affordable Indian cuisine. The customer service was very good too! read more
