The inside wall is a mirror which gives it such a cool effect Open up for lots of treasures, cute stuff. I found socks, ton of beaded bracelets, stickers, toys, even smaller pull out drawers for SMALL trinkets. Pretty nicely organized! Big thanks for the owner for setting this up for everyone. As I was checking it out, an older gentleman walking by asked me what this box was and I was happy to explain it to him. Fascinating and lovely isn't it?

It's basically just two windows at the corner of O'Farrell and Stockton, one window on O'Farrell, one window on Stockton St. This past Sunday, each window had two box spaces, one with live animal(s), one with a video of a live animal living space (sometimes with the animal missing)... you can also view this on their website live during business hours. We saw one cute kitty sleeping in her box alone, and two puppies lying around in a shared box in the other window. Lots of people taking pictures, but not overly crowded as it just takes a few minutes to explore these holiday windows (and possibly choose to adopt). I love this annual event and cute little setup at Macy's. It's easy to stop by while taking a stroll through Union Square.

These stairs are a great alternative to the famous Tiled stairs in the Inner Sunset because I think…read morethey are just as pretty but without the masses of other people getting in the way of a photo. It has a cute free library at the bottom to pick up or donate used books. There are 100 stairs and you have pretty good views of the west part of the city and Mount Davidson. I like to do a loop after walking up the stairs and continue down Athens Street for half a block where there is a small open space area with more stairs. To loop this is around .5 miles so pretty short but I usually add a hike to nearby John McLaren Park with endless trails which is just 2 blocks away from Peru street. There's also stairs at Munich and Excelsior streets (56 Stairs) to make more of a stairwalk hike.

I come here every few days and jog up the steps as exercise. It's a good length and good incline. The steps are wide enough to do easy leg lunges and jumps. When you walk upper, you can see the nice view SF. On the side is a little garden space. Lemon trees, succulents and cute flowers. It's nice to sit and just enjoy the peace as it's a quiet area. On the bottom of the steps, is a little free exchange library. But people throw their junks there (photo attached). Every other day it's some new garbage. It's truly disgusting and disturbing. It's really disrespectful to ruin such a nice scenery. I feel bad for the person who cares for this location if there is anyone.

Located on the water next to the Marina Green there is so much you can do here. Parking can be a challenge on a nice sunny day, but be patient and you will snag a spot. There are a couple coffee spots right there and even a Safeway grocery store just a block away. We like to pick up sandwiches and bring them to the marina section so we can sit on a bench and watch the boats out on the water as well as people watch. It's all good here.

This is a small gated community garden surrounded by fencing on Lapu Lapu alley in SF. I passed by…read moreto check it out while in the area last Friday. There was more dirt than flowers and vegetables to be seen, but beautiful nonetheless with an interesting history to go along with the creation of the garden, a result of the dedication and determination of neighborhood residents who also maintain the planter beds. Inside the serene space, there's a shipping container showcasing a vibrant and colorful mural (City Life Oasis) by Michael Rios, as well as a massive manila village mural on the building across the street. Also within the garden, a bit of seating can be found available for community members and visitors to enjoy the carefree atmosphere and growing plants all around.

I have three boxes that I am currently using what they called victory garden project, following along those same guidelines. Right now I have corn, tomatoes, strawberries growing. But when you go you will find a variety of different types of vegetables growing all maintained by the residents. A shout out to TODCO maintenance man Van. He does a bang up job on taking care of the small things that need be worked on over there.
