this red framed, dark brown sided library (# ) with a slanted red roof has the usual fiction and…read morenon fiction books. reads: "The One Percent Doctrine: Deep Inside America's Pursuit of It's Enemies Since 9/11" (Ron Suskind) *after Bush & Co. ignored warnings about al Queda from the outgoing Clinton adminstration, Bushco went after al Queda with a vengeance, by invading Iraq. (after losing Bin Laden who was trapped in Afghanistan.) some random events/policies of Bushco -extralegal wiretaps focused on limiting the spread of nuclear weapons by focusing on Khan of Pakistan who openly sold nuclear knowledge. 2d focus was invading Iraq. -they earched worldwide for al Queda associates who may be plotting the next attack on America. torture was a tool to force information from associates. -in the US, 2000+ Arabs & Arab Americans were racially profiled for acting "strange". when charges weren't filed due to lack of actionable evidence, Bushco had them deported. -the cheney doctrine declared: "...If there's a 1% chance that Pakistani scientists are helping al Queda build or develop a nuclear weapon, we have to treat it as a certainty in terms of our response" -early '03, surveillance on al Queda sources went silent, they no longer used Western Union, the internet or any former means of communicating. -Nov '03, Norwegian intelligence relayed an al Queda video imploring their followers to focus attacks on Spain, Britain, & Poland. (they had sent troops to Iraq). *this lead the CIA to believe it was local affiliates of al Queda doing the planning & funding, no longer from al Queda central. -during the '04 Presidential campaign, leaks from the CIA indicated the war in Iraq was beginning to turn into a civil war. shortly, top levels of the CIA were replaced. their new duty was to craft plans to support the administration's agenda, not to be a "fact-finding" agency that raises questions. -in Oct. 2004, Bin Laden broadcasted an anti-Bush message, essentially a campaign ad to vote for Bush . (the consensus of the CiA) Suskind holds Bush & co responsibie for the extralegal wiretaps, and the misquided missions.

This is one of my favorite places in the area. Whenever my partner and I go book shopping, we come…read morehere first (and we also sell them all the books we read for store credit). The staff is so friendly, and the selection of books is LARGE. There is something for everyone here, whether you're looking for a classic, a mystery, manga, a cookbook, or even a puzzle. They also do little events throughout the year, and put a lot of love and thought into them. If you follow their social media you can see when the events are and I encourage you to attend! They always have a fun game or free gift or little treats. It is such a homey feel, and is so great if you like the classic bookstore feel. The pricing structure is also simple and straightforward; you pay half the cover price for any book you get (which means many of the older books/airport readers are a super great deal). Couldn't recommend more!

Books are 50% off the cover price, in the back there are 1$, 2$, & 3$ books marked with…read morecorresponding stars *. I picked up a couple of books from those shelves. There's a section for vintage and classic books and an adorable couch to sit on if you want to get cozy and read a bit. The window displays are always cute, there's a "beach" read theme for the summer! Inside there's a mystery display. Current popular authors are found as well as some obscure ones. Very small poetry section, which is sad as I'm a fan and writer of poetry! Nice and helpful staff!
