The Richardson Public Library has been a staple in my life almost all of my life. I remember…read morecoming to here to research papers I was writing all the way back to my young school days. While the library is all the things a library should be and you would think it would be, the Richardson Public Library is SO much more... For example this past weekend they held "Eggstravaganza" which was essentially fun, games, and of course, an Easter egg hunt, for the kids. They also hold Mah Jongg lessons and host a Mah Jongg League, host computer classes, AI lessons, teach Excel, host job clinics, as well as several other events (check out my photo of the current and upcoming events calendar). These activities have been a great way for me to not only support them, but also re-connect with the community. The library is SO good in fact, last week they won the Achievement of Excellence in Libraries Award from the Texas Municipal Library Directors Association. Wgat's more is that this is their 20th year in a row of winning this honor...Congratulations Richardson Public Library and thank you to all the staff and volunteers for doing what you all do!!!

I like studying on the lower level because people are allowed to talk there (I fall asleep when it's quiet), the chairs are comfy, it's bright, and there are toooons of electrical outlets. The bad thing about the library is that it's hard to find somewhere to study during peak hours and times. Also, it's always cold and the bathrooms really need to be updated. Everyone who works at the library is more than helpful. I am forever grateful for this girl who works at the front desk because the printers weren't printing, I had a paper due, and she printed it out for me free of charge. I got an A.

And I have lived in 6 states, visited several and been to plenty of libraries all over the place. My mouse for my laptop clicks so I don't want to use it, I'm sticking with the touch pad on my laptop. I am going to do everything in my power not to sneeze, cough or breathe too loud. I'm in libraries and coffee shops quite a lot and have grown accustomed to hearing children's chatter, music or phone conversations. Not here though, it's old school quiet like libraries of yesteryear. There is a large, wonderful area for children but on this side of the library you don't hear them. I love libraries this size. There are chairs, desks, tables, love seats, study rooms, media rooms, meeting rooms and even vending machines for your snack break. The restroom is nice, big and clean. And books, of course, they have a huge selection and if I moved to Collin County, which I probably won't, I would likely frequent this location. I don't know anything about this neighborhood but this library is really nice.

Why pay for books or buy books when your taxes, as a homeowner, offer you free book rentals! AMAZING!! I love to be read too and you can read a variety of books for free. The best bang for your buck! Really happy I discovered reading books again. Not sure why I ever slowed down. Harrington Library is awesome! Simply need to go in person to apply for the card. It's so simple! It gives you access to ALL libraries in Collin county. Everyone should have a library card! They use the Libby app. The most wonderful app at that too! Easy to use and people friendly. Links you to all libraries. They offer 3d images of mapping plans for children to make their on designs. How cool is that! It's all in house. I think that's awesome to get kids interested in technology at an early age. I wish more people would be interested in being part of a library. It's so cool to have access to knowledge. It's free! This was an all too often overlooked location of the Garland Library system. I know because I have…read morepersonally.driven past it several times and never noticed it. This past Saturday was different though, it turned into my destination for a writing class. The writing class I attended was just one of the many great programs this library offers. They pretty much keep a full calendar of offerings to the local community. The meeting/class rooms are newly remodeled and perfect for such events. Karla, and the rest of the library staff are super helpful and just add to the pleasantness of the whole experience here!

It's bright and clean inside and the staff seem friendly and helpful. There's also a good selection of books including some in Spanish, Chinese, and Vietnamese. It's in Garland, Texas, a town not far from where I live. And it felt like a kids paradise from the moment I walked down the stairs into the children's area. I saw children gathered around for a special event, and they were all filled with joy and many were giggling. What a beautiful experience it was to see such happiness around books. And isn't that what being a child is supposed to be like? The walls were covered with creative nature scenes, just like you're walking into a storybook. And they carved out the sweetest little reading nooks so you could enjoy your time, privately, with a great story. There was a wonderful artistic mobile hanging over the area where you walk down to the children's area, and fun seating for storytime readings. And let's not miss out on the slide kids can go down to get to the children's area. What a fun idea! Hats off to whomever thought that one through! Every person I talked to in this library was genuinely nice. It truly felt like a safe and happy place to be - for both children and adults. I'm coming back with my grandchildren, and I already know it will be a great adventure for us all!

I LOVE reading real books, holding a book in my hands is…read moresomething that hasn't ever been lost on me although I do love podcasts and audible I primarily utilize those during times where I'm moving and can't hold a book (walks, hikes, etc.). I came in to get my library card and put a hold on a certain title I'd been waiting on before relocating, which to my surprise will arrive tomorrow! I checked out a couple other titles to read around the pool this week. Service at the front counter was the absolute sweetest and most helpful! I'll definitely be stopping in monthly and look forward to checking out some of their events and book clubs.

Stopped halfway and ruined experience completely. Also the Children's area is very crowded at times with oblivious or unfit parents either clogging or letting their little ones clog up the aisle-way. Staffers don't seem to do anything to rectify this.
