Other patrons often leave bags of donations, so the shelves are stocked frequently. The store is well organized, with all the categories clearly labeled. The store is always clean and each item is clearly priced on the bag. There is a little of everything in this store, between fiction, non-fiction and children's books, as well as a decent selection of games. Along the front wall are a selection of coffee table and new(ish) books, and in the middle are tables with seasonal or topical books (including a table with President Jimmy Carter's biographies soon after he passed away). Most books are priced around $5 or less, and very few items are more than $10. On our last visit, my wife and I purchased 6 books and paid less than $30 total. There is a parking lot on site, and the volunteer staff are always very friendly and helpful.

This brown little library (#64694) has a small selection of children's. fiction, & nonfiction…read morebooks. reads: : "The boxcar children:Houseboat Mystery" (gertrude chandler warner). the boxcar children (henry, jessie, violet,& benny) have moved into an housboat in a small town. they noted with curiousity how seemngly random facts seem related: -why was a horse looking so thin, malnourished? -why a man was being extorted $$? what secret was he trying to hide? -why was a vase stolen from an auction? is the strange behavior of a boy who bought a box of clothes related? -a missing clock. discovering the stolen vase in their houseboat. is the "break-in of their houseboat related? -is the mysterious black car with 2 men part of the puzzle? -the adults in the story soon find a connection with random facts that stood out. *story may be simplistic, geared for young readers,. in a small town, it wasn't "rocket science".

Since it was raining I decided to drive up. Of course the problem is once you're up there how do you get your car back down. It's very tight to turn around up there so probably best to just walk. It's a narrow tall wood box number of books inside. I contributed some brand new business books to make it even more complete. The box is reasonably well constructed, and looks like it will last quite a few years. I was a little confused by the prior photos for this box, since the Box looks completely different. I wonder if the box was recently refurbished? This is really a fun, older part of Walnut Creek. The roads are quite a bit different than you might expect. This is definitely the most fun I've had getting to a little Free Library.

As we usually do when we have time to kill in a new spot. This little book box is up a small road that looks like a simple stone driveway - we reccomend parking on the street and walking up (it's the road to the right). This locale housed mostly mystery (Agatha Christie) and was rather small but had a lot of pizazz. Yay! Little Free Library
