This one is called Lila's little free library and is really pretty in turquoise white with green trim. There's even a laminated card attached to the side which explains the whole idea of little Free Library. Really in extremely well constructed large box appears to be completely made out of wood on a very solid wood post. This one is going to last for many years. I put in some brand new business books that I had.

Other patrons often leave bags of donations, so the shelves are stocked frequently. The store is well organized, with all the categories clearly labeled. The store is always clean and each item is clearly priced on the bag. There is a little of everything in this store, between fiction, non-fiction and children's books, as well as a decent selection of games. Along the front wall are a selection of coffee table and new(ish) books, and in the middle are tables with seasonal or topical books (including a table with President Jimmy Carter's biographies soon after he passed away). Most books are priced around $5 or less, and very few items are more than $10. On our last visit, my wife and I purchased 6 books and paid less than $30 total. There is a parking lot on site, and the volunteer staff are always very friendly and helpful.

Wow what a pleasant surprise!…read more On a busy street in Benicia is one of the more cute little free library boxes I've seen. There's even a little faux white picket fence on the side which makes it especially cute. It's very well-maintained, and appears to be mostly wood with perhaps some vinyl. The day that I visited it was well stocked with both soft covers and hard covers. This street is one of the more cute streets in town. Check out the fun lawn ornaments at the house next door.

Maxine refers him to Miss Annie, a former English teacher. -Miss Annie suggests he paid her by helping out with cleaning Maxine's house. Vernon eventuallly discovers Maxine is an alcoholic and her son is physcially disabled and seemingly mentally challenged. via a suggestion by Ronald's teacher, Miss Marlow, Vernon agrees to help Ronald prepare for the special Olympics. -the whole town turns out in spirit for the festival to raise $ to send Ronald to the Special Olympics. $123 was spent to outfit Ronald with new shoes and clothes. -Ronald enjoyed it immensely, though he didn't win any medals, he ate many hot dogs, got many participation awards. -soon after, the town was disappointed to learn that Ronald's mom had given up custody of Ronald to an out of town relative. the town was sad, everyone came with gifts and to say goodbye. -Vernon also heard the lst word spoken by Ronald: "dawee" after he learned how to draw a stick dog. *very, inspiring book for young readers.
