Coming down the mountains from Alabama into Georgia, I noticed a small library tucked into the town's main park. It was impossible to miss, painted a bright plastic red that popped against the muted greens and browns of the season's leafy cover.
The library is mounted on a single post with one simple door. Inside, it was fully packed with books, though none caught my attention today. Most were well worn (pre‑loved!) and leaned toward romance, children's stories, or young adult titles. While not my pick this time, I could easily imagine someone else finding joy in them.
Interestingly, this library does not appear on the Little Free Library database map, and there is no signage to identify a sponsor or steward. Still, a small "Little Free Library" flag sits beside it, a quiet sign that someone is tending to it with care. That small gesture makes the whole setup feel even more meaningful in this small town.
