It's a single shelf little library but despite that it had almost two books deep for the entire shelf. The only exception was a small space that had a tupperware with dog biscuits in it. What a nice surprise for those who may be walking their dog while stopping to grab or leave a book. This particular library during our visit did have a much larger supply of adult reads. I don't recall any children's books during our visit. That could vary by the time you visit though. My wife left behind a book in exchange for one other book. With fall and Halloween coming up she left a book with series of spooky stories so hopefully that makes someone happy for the upcoming season/holiday. She ended up grabbing the book "Unbound" that appears to be listed as a historical romance novel. Besides that the book that caught my eye (did not take it though) was a memoir of Piper Kerman. Which if that name does not sound familiar it is the woman behind the inspiration for the show Orange Is The New Black. In the end this library was very full for being located where it is at and seemed to have a decent variety. Check it out!

Inside the library, a single shelf well stuffed with books and a tin that contains dog treats. Neat! A variety of books including reference, cookbooks, travel and more. Interesting collection. This particular one was called Ollie's Book Nook and is run by someone who has always enjoyed these libraries and their son gifted them one for Mother's Day. They were thinking of the quote "when life gives you lemons" and created a theme for the library related to this. All over the little library you'll find little paintings of lemons and limes, nice little touch. It's located on a small side road with I suspect minimal traffic (during our visit it was true) allowing for safety if pulling over to visit. Definitely on the smaller side of these with only one shelf. Despite this during our visit it was quite full to the standards of what it can hold in terms of size. Some books for the younger crowd as well as some for older readers. Some included the classic by Dr. Seuss "Hop on Pop", as well as "A Boy Called Bat". The book that caught my attention the most was "Merle's Door" due to the cover having a dog in the mountains. We did leave it behind still though. It had a great theme with artwork to accompany it. Decent variety considering its small size but did not see any books we needed to read, but look forward to revisiting.

Another closely located little library with another nearby as well so we decided why not check them…read moreout since we were already out and about. This little library does have a number like many of them but also is rightfully named A Book With a View. It is located close to Bumbleroot Farm and even closer has some flowers planted around it. Worth stopping at to check the book selection and take in some nature views. As you can tell from the photos it is a red colored library with a white door. Despite not finding any books that piqued either my wife's or my interest we did leave one and hope someone enjoys it as their next book. On this particular day they had some genres including religious, encyclopedias, autobiography, Holocaust survivor book, & mystery to name a few. Like I said did not find anything we cared to grab but enjoyed the nearby view and would continue checking it out every once in a while. Your best plan to visit this particular one would be planning on a Saturday and checking out the Bumbleroot Farm before or after!

It would be hard to miss this barn-red Little Free Library along this rural road in Maine as the…read morecolor stands out from the green fields. The road isn't very wide but there can't possibly be enough traffic here for that to be a problem. The single door is secured by a sliding latch and inside are two short shelves well stocked with books. Today's selection was lots of childrens' books on their sides with a couple of thrillers and comedy in there. This is charter number 138138 and unlike many LFL's, it has a name, "A Book With A View" and a caption: :This Little Free Library sits on a parcel of land owned and lovingly maintained by Tom and Shelby Driscoll. The Library was built by Tom in the fall of 2021 and became the perfect addition to the flower gardens that adorn the spot where a (Weeks family) farmhouse once stood. So multiple potential ways to give to people, through reading or clothes. We drive by here quite frequently and during our recent visit I was actually shocked by how many books were inside. It has two shelves and the bottom shelf was actually filled with two rows. Naturally due to the vicinity of the church it does have a significant amount of religious themed books so great for those who are interested in that topic. It did seem to be a variety of religions though as it even had two copies of a children's book titled "My First Menorah". Besides those it still seemed to be a large variety of genres which is great, gives everyone a chance to find their favorite next read. To name a few, they had some self-help guide book for couples, war novels, Disney and other children's books as well as a thriller my wife grabbed. It's from the acclaimed author of "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" with the title being "The Girl Who Played with Fire". Also most notable in a unique/odd sense was it appears someone left a DVD of a pilates workout. Certainly my first time seeing that in any of the little libraries. So readers (or fans of Pilates...) go out and leave a book and/or take a book (or DVD...) and enjoy your next read (or workout...)!

Another little library that is nestled in a perfect spot in Westbrook. This library stands out with…read moreits color combination of the purple and green. Also due to its location there are often many people walking around so plenty of opportunities to have books swapped frequently so could always find a new book that interests you. They do one thing that I don't see too often in little libraries, and that is one shelf dedicated for children's books and top shelf is adult only books. This is such a smart idea to make it so your kids can have easier access to finding their next book without sorting through books not for them too. They had a good variety of books meant for a variety of ages/reading levels. My wife and I did not find any books we decided to grab during our visit but we frequently go past here so maybe in the future we will find something. Actually during our visit the bottom shelf was more stocked than the top. Along with the adult books up top they also had a selection of bookmarks which is another great touch. Another great opportunity for the community to share and swap their books with one another!

This particular little free library appears to be named after a cat named Marge and you may find…read morethem around. We did not during our visit. This is located in what appears to be a newer housing development dead-end located at the end of it. It is still in nice condition and is a white colored exterior with a tan/wood door. Unfortunately during our particular day of visiting nothing caught our eyes for books we wanted to trade for. Just due to location as well I am unsure how much turn over the books have in this particular little library as it is located at the end of a dead end but maybe I am wrong and close locals swap books often. The majority of books during our stop were pregnancy books including some about pregnancy diet, book about your babies first word, and what to expect when you're expecting. So based on that currently would be a great one to check out for soon to be parents. At the same time they had quite a few children's books as well such as pokemon cook book and the all time classic The Very Hungry Caterpillar and an unknown to me Goodnight Owl. They did also have a smaller selection of non-pregnancy and kid books just nothing that jumped out to us. If you find yourself nearby though check it out, maybe your next read will be inside.

This does have an official Little Free Library charter # but it may no longer apply as it does not show up anymore in the directory. In general, these are the perfect thing for those who love to read! You can take the books you have either read and loved or not interested in and grabbing a different book in its place. This one does not have the largest amount of space for books with two shelves and one spot to the side that can fit around 4 or 5 standing up. They had one science/animal-based book that caught my eye, and my wife grabbed a couple thrillers that appeared to be worth swapping with an old book. Besides those they did have a couple children's books, detective books, cookbook, fantasy, and historical fiction. I will say despite its small size it could have had more inside. Another one we will continue to keep an eye on the books available to swap around.

This particular little library was named Wonderland along with its charter number. It's the typical…read morebook box but this one is placed in a planter and a sticker on it that says "Welcome to Wonderland". Along the border of the front also has little cute paintings of some plants and even some characters like the Cheshire Cat along with text that says Take A Book on top and Leave a Book on bottom. This nice yet small additions definitely give that extra touch to make it more memorable and would make kids enjoy it just a little more. Which is fitting as the particular day we visited they had lots of children books. Multiple different Sesame Street learning books, a first sensory book, and even a finger puppet book. While this little libraries can vary a lot depending when you visit, from the looks this is a perfect one to bring your kids to grab a new book and leave a book for another kid. They did have non-kid books as well. Which actually, my wife was shocked to have found The Housemaid. This has been a popular book and was on her list of books she wanted to read and was super excited to have found it in the little library. In place of it she left behind The Girl Who Was Taken and hopefully someone can have the same excitement when they discover this book! Like I said the little added touches along with the good variety for all ages make this a great little library to check out for the entire family!
