It is one of the cutest Library boxes I've seen with a beach theme. Over the library door, a mermaid beckons you to take one of the books to the sea. On each site, little beach areas with actual sand and shells and even beach chairs. Very cute. Inside, a collection of well worn paperbacks at the front and hard cover books behind. More full than some book boxes. This is charter number 78022 and the online caption reads, "We are avid readers at the Islanders Beach Club and it seemed natural to want a Little Free Library. Since we wanted to have it on the way to the beach we had to contact the town manager to get approval. He was all for it and set the wheels in motion. Since my wife thinks she's a MERMAID this was the only choice for it. I built it with a very beachy theme including beach chairs. The other beach goers love it and have kept it full of books." The gray box is on the wall with a single door secured by a twist catch. It was extremely full today with fiction books that were mostly paperbacks. I did not bother to check the spiral bound that was taking up too much room. Nothing caught my eye from the selection. This library is on a post adjacent to the entrance to the Allen Children Center which has a large…read moreparking lot and is easy to access. It is red and white with a white roof and so it blends a bit into the background. If you were driving past, you might miss it. As I guessed based on the location, it is filled with nearly all children's and young adult books. Nothing that particularly caught my fancy today but I was definitely amused by the book I photographed for the review. This LFL is charter number 42844 and the steward is Carissa Clough. The online caption reads, "This Little Library is a project of B.R.I.D.G.E (Bringing Reading Into Diverse Groups Everywhere). BRIDGE is an orgnaization to promote all forms of literacy in varying areas. The Library was built by Jon Clough. The Library sits on Allen Children Center's property. Allen Children Center is a bilingual child care center with families of varying economic and cultural backgrounds. This Library has a bottom shelf for children/teens and a top shelf for adults."
