The direct services STAR provides includes one on one advocacy as well as in house counseling, financial assistance when available, legal aid, and resources. STAR has a 24/7 crisis line available for those who have been harmed by sexual violence, have general questions, need a friendly ear to listen, or are seeking further resources. STAR also has a prevention and education team that provides community education services throughout the Anchorage community including parenting classes and partnering with the Anchorage School District to talk to the youth of Anchorage about personal safety; with a goal to ultimately reduce the number of people in Alaska that are harmed by sexual violence.

The curvature of the beams are multiple slats of wood, bent and crafted to support the ceiling and walls. Out back is a community garden, and they were having a harvest party the next night. Throughout the year there are productions and featured artists. I would definitely come again. Neat historic note: this used to be a Korean church, and the name was literally Church of Love, though in Korean. The new occupiers just decided to translate the old name into English.

If you are not an expert, don't expect much from that visit because their office offers no displays, no catalogs, no visuals. There is only a pegboard with a few pieces of metals, again, with no prices for materials or services, no technical data. No waiting room, no place to sit. French drainpipe. Manhole covers... I picked up 10' pipe 90-45 degree fittings Splices , valves, t's, caps and glue. Geo textile fabric to keep dirt from my " French drain" to keep my property dry The best part. I wanted a 20' section of hdpe for a well. Holy Moses. This stuff is like gold in Alaska. It's a thousand dollars plus...and is sold like hot cakes. Road construction sucks it up. I wanted 36 or 48" Hard to acquire sizes. Ferguson..... special order. Another place..... special order. I'm not totally sure who the main customers are here . Subdivision creators? The state? Cities? They were so accommodating to this small ( not to me) customer. Helped me load, smiled , asked questions. Answered questions. I was incredibly surprised this low overhead, outdoor lot , construction focused , PROFESSIONAL, outfit. Held me by the hand and Sold me what I needed...,NOT what I asked for ! My review scratches the surface. They sell From what I can tell. Anything for your business. Where the utility stops.
