Our son has been at LDCA for a year now and we are so happy to be a part of this community. In our search for childcare, our main priorities were finding people we could put our full trust in to keep our child safe and happy. The team at LDCA checks those boxes and more. In regards to safety, Shayvon cares for the students as if they were her own children. She has a very clear and open communication style which was also very important to me when choosing a childcare provider. During the first week, she knew I was worried about my son's transition to the program so Shayvon sent me lots of updates and photos, which really helped ease my anxiety. We were searching for a daycare for several months before our first child's arrival. We just loved LDCA and were so sad we had to leave when my youngest son started kindergarten. I love this place! I have done photography for this adorable daycare for 2 years now. It felt so good to return this year after meeting all the staff and children last year and seeing how much they've grown. My baby has been going to this daycare for about 3 months and we feel very blessed to have found Shayvon. Like all parents, I was extremely anxious about finding care for my son. My oldest son is 10 and his daycare provider closed a few years ago so we had to start all over again with finding care for my new baby. I remember crying to my mom after bringing my son home from the hospital and telling her "how will I ever leave him and go back to work?" My dear 75 year old mother graciously stayed with us weekdays and drove home weekends to help care for my baby once I went back to work. But after he turned 18mos it was too much to expect of her AND we were in the middle of a pandemic. Luckily, I found Shayvon on Yelp and she also came highly recommended by my pediatrician who also sent her son there. From day one, we felt embraced by Shayvon and her team. Our son is happy and we can tell he is learning everyday. Recently he came home and took off his shoes and tried to hang up his jacket like he was at school. His speech is getting better and I feel good knowing he is at school with kids his age, in a safe and loving environment. I appreciate the little videos and pictures she sends during the day. I love looking at them at work, I miss him but I know he's safe and happy. I love the little celebrations they have! You can tell she and her team genuinely care about the kids and that it's more than just childcare to them. It's about providing a foundation they will carry into adulthood. Teacher Shayvon is an amazing gift to the children and parents who attend Little Dream Chasers. Our Son attended for 2 years and had a great time every day. Every week Shayvon brings in special guests that specialize in kids fun activities such as exercise, animals, story time, and arts and crafts activities the kids love. The kids can attend field trips to libraries, little farm, and Shayvon arranges visits every year from the local fire department who let the kids climb in the truck and use the fire hose and teach them fire safety. Parents are always welcome to attend these field trips too which is great fun. Shayvon helps the kids create art pieces every week and on valentines, Mothers and Fathers day, Halloween and every holiday we are spoiled by wonderful art projects our son has made for us. Shayvon also keeps us up to date and sends reminders, with a message app, and sends us photos often during the day of our son having fun with activities. It's truly is great seeing your child have fun and know that someone is not only watching him but making you feel connected with them even while you are not there. I love bringing my child here! From day 1 Teacher Shayvon/ her staff has been fabulous. Unexpectedly we had to transition my son from one preschool to another. We had been working on breaking some bad behaviors he picked up from his previous school. Unfortunately his last school really didn't provide the staff with enough training to teach toddlers how to process their anger and frustrations in other ways besides hitting, biting, crying etc. If my son would have an incident, we were called immediately to pick him up and he would have to stay home for 48hrs. As a pediatrician I knew this was not the correct way to handle this situation. These were behaviors that would take time to unlearn and I needed teachers/staff that would help me through this process. LDCA has been great! I've watched my son learn and mature and process his anger/frustration using his words. LDCA provides so many fun and enriching daily activities and I love that they provide nutritious meals/snacks. I am very happy with my son's progress and so at ease dropping him off everyday. Each morning Teacher Shayvon greets us at the door to welcome us during sign in. She sends notices/communications almost daily so that we are well informed. The children are working on skills needed to prepare for kindergarten as well as how to play and work well with others.
