All dresses are designed and handmade by Moira herself - and you'll find a huge range of wedding dresses, prom dresses, and other special occasion wear. As well as the large range of on-the-peg dresses that you'll find in their King's Court shop - Moira Withers also does custom dress design and fittings. If you want to get an idea of the kind of designs that you'll find at Glitterati - their website has a great selection of photos. Their Kings Court shop is huge - and I can pretty much guarantee you that you won't run out of dresses to try on! There's plenty of space for browsing, as well as giving the gowns a spin, and you'll find the quality of the service itself very hard to beat. As if all this wasn't good enough - you'll also find a large carpark right opposite the shop, so it couldn't be anymore convinient to get to!

I came across Glitterati in a bridal magazine article about bespoke wedding dresses so I thought I would investigate to see if (a) they could do my wedding dress and (b) how much it would cost. Moira Withers was a delight to work with and she interpreted my ideas perfectly. I was even more pleasantly surprised about its cost as it wasnt as expensive as the bridal shops nor did I have to pay for expensive alterations as the dress was made to fit me perfectly. Moira knows her fabrics and sewing methods so I felt very relaxed that I knew my dress would be perfect, within budget and on time! I loved my dress. Would recommend anyone to visit Glitterati and get a bespoke wedding dress or evening gown - at least there'll be no other like it!

We stumbled upon this place while having a gander in town today and didn't have to make an appointment in order to browse what was on offer. The staff were friendly but not intrusive or pushy, they were informative, and as for bride gowns we were bowled over at the variety of styles available! There were were funky flamboyant meringue dresses of course, but lots of elegant designs which looked like they'd hug ladies of all sizes in all the right places! I love simple glamourous dresses like these, all complete with sweetheart necklines. There were various promotions on offer. They offered full bridal sets, including veils for under £500 which was pretty unbelievable! There were also an array of accessories to buy on their own and practical necessities, such as inflight boxes, for reasonable prices. Some gowns were beautiful and didn't seem to break the bank. The bridesmaid dresses were drag-tastic - it felt like we were in a different shop when we saw some of these horrors displayed in all their day-glo glory. But there were some hidden darling designs, so don't be deterred by the neon gore displayed in the window! There's actually not too much in the name of WAG wears, so consider it almost a garish-free zone. Although a couple of the bridal gowns reminded me of Channel 4's My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding, where would any good bridal store be without its outlandish efforts? All the dresses were fun, and some were stunning. So if you are tying the knot, try stopping by here. If you're just interested in having a looksie like me, you'll find yourself resisting the urge to try the items on! If I had done, that might've been too weird...I'll save it for the real thing!

Once the dresses were in, it all changed, suddenly we could not attend at the weekend for a fitting as no fitters, well I thought they must have to make an exception, most people work during the week. Nope no flexibility and rude attitude when I stated this. I was told by the woman, can only imagine was the manager "its in the small print and if I was spending all that money I would have read it. When asked why there was no fitters on a Saturday I was told "Saturday is a selling day, I like to go shopping at the weekend, I have a life you know and so do my girls" Her next suggestion was equally moronic, " can't your bridesmaids just phone in sick from work to come" to which I stated I would not ask them to do, plus it's not just one fitting it's 2!!! Further to this when I thought I only have to get one dress altered elsewhere I as told no they must all come in together as other wise "dresses go missing" well, that made me feel real confident! Once they had my money their after sales service was a disgrace and attitude was worse. Oh and a note to finish, they tried to talk me into taking extra length for 2 of the dresses as "they will need it, trust me" at a further cost of course! I stuck to my guns and said no and when the dresses arrived they were too long, the extra length was never needed, just an extra con.

My mum and I were very warmly welcomed and, while I filled out a form explaining what I was after, my mum got a nice cuppa. I was helped by a woman called Margaret, who was fantastic! She made me feel very comfortable. For instance, I've had a few odd looks when I've told bridal people I won't be wearing big heels on my big day, but she wasn't phased. She was very competent and quickly sussed out my style. At no time did she make any comment about the actual dress I had on, she just kept asking me helpful questions; 'do you like this style?', 'what about the shape of the skirt?', 'what about the colour?' etc. I had gone in thinking I wanted one kind of dress and came out realising that I actually wanted to go quite traditional (must make sure Mister doesn't read this before wedding!). I hate it when you are standing in a dress and the woman helping you is telling you how wonderful the material is and how lovely the shape of the neck is. With a wedding dress it doesn't matter one jot how lovely the neckline is - you either 'feel' it or you don't. Margaret seemed to understand this, presumably from having a lot of experience. While I was there there was another family in which there were 3 sisters. Two of the sisters had got their dresses at this shop and they thought so highly of it that the third was determined not to go anywhere else. The place is clean, friendly and relaxed. Margaret helped me make a list of the 'technical terms' for what I wanted in a dress so that I could tell other shops when I went in. So there was no pressure at all to buy from them or to buy quickly. This is definitely the kind of shop where I wish I had found my perfect dress and I would recommend it to everyone.

Very inexperienced staff. Very disappointed - a mistake was made with my measurements.read more

Well, I can imagine myself in Las Vegas with a guy dressed as Elvis conducting the ceremony, it sounds much less hassle. I'm not that easy to please though, the ring has to be at least £92348924238572094 or it's a no. Whenever I pass Sarah Louise Bridal, I always think about girls who obsess over the "dream wedding" where they think about every last detail from the colour of the napkins to the number of petals on each individual flower. I have to admit, the dresses displayed in the window here always look stunning and they cater for every taste. They don't just have the massive meringue dress, they also have slightly more understated beauties. They also have gorgeous bridesmaids dresses displayed which always look very unusual. I've never actually been in but I pass to shop pretty much every day and the dresses in the window always catch my eye, they look very classy. They also change their window display every other week so they have a huge range of stock and will be able to tailor the dresses to your needs. They also stock designer dresses and much of them are exclusive to Sarah Louise Bridal.

From my own experience, brides-to-be must be the most difficult people in the world (sorry girls, I realise it has to be perfect for your big day, but can you tone down the agro?). As afore mentioned in one of my other reviews, (Confetti), my sister was planning her wedding, so I was being dragged round every bride-to-be shop in town (ugh). We'd previously visited 7 other dress shops, and 'nothing was perfect'. Which I can understand. After a long days searching, we ended up in here as my sister fell in love with a dress in the display (hallelujah!). We went in and were immediately met by a smiling happy assistant who sat down with us, and chatted about our 'choices' - and then she began talking about colours, and cuts and... yeah I zoned out (my sister was wrapt in the conversation). My sister was just about to try on the dress when out of the dressing room charged a wild woman (Bridezilla) screaming hysterically about the fact that her dress, since last fitting, had OBVIOUSLY shrunk as she OBVIOUSLY hadn't put on weight. How interesting. The shop assistant apologised, then made her excuses, and went through to chat to the lady. 5 minutes later, Bridezilla came back through, calm and collected (and smiling!), and apologised to us (!). She was followed by the shop assistant who looked like the cat who'd got the cream. God knows what she said, but the entire incident was laughed over, and then Bridezilla left. Powers of persuasion, eh? Anyway, after half an hour my sister had tried on the dress (which in the end wasn't perfect) but the assistant gave her a business card and told her to come back in a couple of weeks to see the 'new collection'. So excellent service, pretty dresses and they can tame a bridezilla? Excellent - what more can you want from a wedding shop!?

There is bling everywhere and they have installed a 'cat walk' kind of affair for you to prance about on in front of a gigantic mirror (alright - I did do my fair share of prancing...). I found a couple of dresses that were possibles and made an appointment to come back. The service really was faultless. I was sat down and given a drink straight away and then the woman who was going to help me came and had a chat with me about what I wanted. When my friend arrived she was greeted warmly and also given a drink. Then it was on to the cat walk! My only real complaint was that instead of pinning the dresses to fit you they simply shoved a cushion down your back. While this helps you get an idea of what the front of the dress will look like, from the side you look.... reversely pregnant! When I ask to see the dress better from the side the woman brought out a massive metal clip. Why can't they just train their staff to use pins like everyone else? I have no idea. The whole shop was a bit slick, black and 'lipsticky' for this slightly scruffy girl (or 'unique and quirky' as the woman in the shop described me..!), but for brides-to-be who want to be princesses: head here! - great service - no pressure to buy (I was in there for an hour and 45 minutes and the woman was still saying 'go home and have a think about it') - loads of dresses - funny cat walk for maximum prancing and preening!

It is an unassuming wee place on Uddingston Main Street, which isn't exactly the most glam of places for a couture stockists of gowns made by designers such as La Sposa; but they do say you find diamonds in the rough, and this is certainly a diamond. The shop is not open to the public, instead, only available by appointment, which makes it extra special. It's unusual for them to book more than the one bride in at a time, because they value making the experience at the boutique special and unique, just like the dresses. As well as the dresses (some of which you can see from the street through the windows) they also stock shoes and veils, and bridesmaid dresses, which means you could get all the female bridal party kitted out in the one shop! Judging by the website, the dresses are elegant and magical, perfect for that once in a lifetime special day.

She bought both her wedding dress (over £3000) and 4 bridesmaids dresses (over £1000) from the salon and when they arrived in store the length of two of the bridesmaids dresses was too short. Victoria argued that she had asked us about length, to which we apparently told her we would be wearing flat shoes (funny how the other two dresses were the right length). It is blatantly untrue. She gave no leeway and forced my Mum to pay for extra fittings and extra fabric to make the dresses an inch longer (still not long enough). She is also incredibly inflexible with fitting times, considering two of the bridesmaids live in Manchester and are at work/college, she would barely stretch past a Thursday evening. Victoria's cold and uncompromising emails left my Mum not wanting to go back into the shop to pick up the dresses so I had to do it. When it got to putting them on, one of the bridesmaids dresses didn't fit correctly and on the other the belt was way too big. It is absolutely shocking that due to a mistake made by the staff at the Etiquette Salon we were left paying even more for fabric and fittings when it was a mistake made by Victoria. She was unhelpful and ambivalent and knew she could charge us what she liked for the service. I would thoroughly discourage anyone from going to this store. I am also going through the process of getting a wedding dress and bridesmaids dresses and I know what special service should feel like. This isn't it.
