Several greens have issues. Tee boxes are uneven and even the ones that are even, the staff manages to put the markers on the uneven parts. This used to be a top tier public course but now the only thing top tier are the prices. The course is in rough condition right now with the greens not being mowed down or rolled among other issues around the course but yet they are already charging summer prices. Went to play 9 holes on Sunday 4/19 around 3 pm and there were only 3 other groups out there (all on the back 9) and the fee was $35. In all honesty, for those prices, save your money and go play at quail valley, or go play 18 at range end or Flatbush. Both were priced around $48 for 18 holes around that time and are probably in better condition right now.

My latest visit to this course has got me wondering about this place though. I am no snob when it comes to golf, but I am a firm believer that you should at least wear a polo shirt to the golf course. My round here last weekend was like My Big Redneck Family Golf Trip. I honestly expected Tom Arnold to pop out from behind a tree at any moment and say they were filming a show for CMT. There was an overabundance of people wearing mesh shorts, t-shirts, and sneakers. This in itself wasn't so terrible. I guess not everyone can have the fashion sense of John Daly or Jesper Parnevik on the golf course. What really bothered me about the numerous groups of people looking like this, was their behavior. I have never experienced so much hooting and hollering on a course, when it was not a charity outing where they encourage you to drink as much booze as possible. People were screaming about shots and flying around in carts while you were trying to hit. The play was also so slow. Nobody started for 20 minutes when my group teed off on the first hole, somehow we got to the third tee and there were several groups backed up on our green and the next tee box. The simple solution to this would be to have a course ranger, but there was not one in sight. I will say that this negative review on the overall experience will not prevent me from returning, however more experiences like this would definitely remove this course from the list of places I will golf.

I recently went in for a Long Game fitting with Doug Mcilvain, and it turned out to be one of the…read moremost valuable experiences I've had for my game. From the start, the fitter took time to understand my current setup, typical ball flight, and what I was hoping to improve. Instead of rushing into swinging clubs, we talked through my strengths, weaknesses, and playing habits. The fitting itself was very detailed. Using launch monitor data, we tested several different club heads and shaft combinations. I was able to see real numbers like ball speed, spin rate, and launch angle. Doug explained everything clearly and adjusted clubs throughout the session so we could dial in the best combination. I am excited to get the new clubs out on the course and play!
