I go here quite a bit. It's the perfect place for perfect chocolate. It hardly matters to me whether they use this particular store for an assembly place or they actually get their chocolate from somewhere else, it's still fantastic chocolate. I also appreciate the store's hometown feel; no fancy remodel, or flashing lights, just a good product from very nice friendly people who work hard trying to eek out a living. I appreciate you. I have spent a lot of money here over several years and I'm not going to go back. I had several problems with a recent shipment and they were unwilling to help correct the problems in any way at all, not even a token. 1. The candy boxes are deeper than the chocolates. The chocolates tumble in the box and arrive disordered and flaking. When a gift box of candy arrives in this condition it does not look like a $30/pound item. This could be easily fixed by adding multiple coruggated paper sheets to fill up the empty space and prevent movement. They have the sheets and could easily do this. Before this shipment, the last time I purchased in-store, I was taking the candy in my suitcase on a plane. I asked the clerk to add the sheets and he did so with a pout. My candy arrived at my destination in good shape. 2. My shipment was missing the cooling pack that was promised. 3. I entered the shipping address on the Little Chocolates website, but they shipped to my Paypal address instead. 4. Store paid $8.38 to ship and charged me $15. This would have been fine if the shipment had been good. But to keep the additional money and still mess up and not offer any consideration is unconscionable. read more

I'm crazy about sweets and Little Chocolates does NOT disappoint!!! The BEST chocolates I've ever had. I have had chocolate from all over the world and for real, the best chocolate actually comes from a small shop in my home town! The salted caramels are unbelievable! I put a cup of chocolates on my husband's dinner tray every night and I always make sure I'm stocked with chocolates from here! The staff is always so sweet and I love coming in :) The Buckeyes are rediculiously good too! It pains me greatly to write this review. I considered Little Chocolates the greatest thing that's happened to my hometown since I moved away. I bought chocolate every time I was visiting, and requested Little's if my mom was going to send me a care package. Everyone running the store has been lovely in every interaction I've had there. But, today, I walked in the door, and no one behind the counter was wearing a mask. People close to my family have died of covid. Many others have been hospitalized. The people at Little's are standing in front of that chocolate every day, breathing on it as they make each truffle, as they load every box. If they're not wearing masks there's no way they're enforcing the rule for customers either, so every customer that walks in the door could end up infecting the whole family. Little's tiny once cozy little shop is now a hotbed of potential infection, and they are engaging in illegal practices with no regard for their customers (the mask mandate is still in place). I never would have believed they would care so little for the safety of their customers, especially those who are immunocompromised. So incredibly disappointed. I used to gush about this place to anyone who would listen, but I sure won't anymore. read more

Little Chocolates' candies are AMAZING!!! Everyone of their candies is so delicious, and look wonderful. All are homemade, and so perfect. I tried the chocolate Turtles (in both dark and milk chocolate), Buckeyes (chocolate-covered peanut butter), cocolate-covered caramels, and plain caramels. They also have several types of truffles, but those aren't really my thing, so I didn't try them, but they did look beautiful. The peanut butter mix and caramel inside the candies is made there too, and so smooth and perfect! I am so happy for this small business to be doing well and happy people are supporting this local-owned business. I highly recommend trying this little chocolate shop for a gift or for yourself! read more

LOVE this shop!! All homemade and the list on ingredients is posted by everything so you know EXACTLY what you are eating. Their cake pops are DELICIOUS! The staff is super nice and will answer any question you might have. They are on the pricey side but QUALITY ingredients, QUALITY product, and QUALITY staff makes spending a few dollars more well worth it. My only complaint is that parking can be tricky. read more

Wonderful find in LaPorte! The best tasting chocolates I have ever had in America. Recently on a weekend trip to the Michigan/ Indiana area we happened upon this shop, and although we were in the area to taste beers at local breweries, this quaint shop was truly the shining star of our travels. We recieved a taste from the local Bed & Breakfast and then stopped in for more. The owner was so sweet, he offered us samples of anything we wanted! We bought the turtle pretzel rods, and various truffles from the raspberry cream rolled in salted pecans, to dark chocolate coconut to peanut butter milk chocolate, all were wonderful. We had to purchase an entire box for home! read more

I was very taken aback today when I went into the store and the clerk, maybe the owner, was there with no mask on. I'll find that I was surprised that she wasn't wearing a mask. I was. She informed me that masks were in fact dangerous and they kept you from breathing. I said that I actually was wearing a mask to protect her, well her not wearing a mask while speaking loudly to me was actually injurious to me. Her response was that she would have to spit directly into my mouth in order to provide a load sufficient to infect me. She said she was telling me the facts, and I contradicted her saying, "no I have told you the facts." She then went into some thing of a diatribe saying I imagine you call yourself a Christian. I'd like to see your heart. It's a point and gave her her gift certificates back and asked for my credit card back. I had always had good treatment in there before but I guess when I challenged her on the mask issue she obviously became very defensive. She also informed that their shop had never been shut down during the quarantine, when the stay at home order has been issued in mid-March. You might reconsider eating candy from a place where not only are you not protected from infection but the candy that you're eating could very well have had spit or something on it as well. The store smells amazing. They have a great selection of chocolates. They have dark chocolate, milk chocolate, white chocolate, nutty, fruit-flavored, creams, marshmallow, and ganache-filled chocolates. The prices are great compared to other gourmet chocolate shops. The staff is helpful and friendly. Even the cream delights are flavorful and rich, not that tongue-numbing, low-quality, sweetness. This shop is growing after two-years of business. These chocolates are better than Fannie Mae!! The chocolate is so creamy and doesn't have that waxy feel like other chocolates.
