It was a bit embarrassing as a parent but shows how much love is poured into our child. My daughter excelled academically and I noticed a difference immediately. When there was a disagreement or an incident Ms Leah informed us and let me know what happened and what actions were taken right away. We worked one on one to reach the same behavior goals. She truly wants all her kids to succeed! It was always nice to get pictures with smiles and crafts and always knew my daughter was well taken care of. One of the differences that sets Ms Leah apart is her communication and love for kids. She is quick to respond to messages and you can see her passion for children. All the parents I've talked to agree that each day our child is motivated and wants to go to school and that really says it all!! Since my daughter is now going into elementary school, our time here has come to an end. We love you Ms Leah and will miss you!

WARNING TO PARENTS OF AUTISTIC AND SPECIAL-NEEDS CHILDREN: I WOULD NOT ENROLL MY CHILD AT KIDS…read moreACADEMY IN MANTECA. They may seem sweet, welcoming, and accommodating from the outside, but my experience once my autistic son actually needed disability-related support was completely different. My son is autistic and has a history of elopement. While he was at Kids Academy, staff opened the playground gate to allow other children who were arriving to enter. When that gate was opened, my son eloped through it. That is terrifying for the parent of an autistic child. What happened afterward made the situation even worse for me. Instead of feeling like the adults responsible for supervising him were taking accountability for how he was able to get through an opened gate, my experience was that the responsibility was essentially placed on my CHILD. He was then told he was no longer welcome back at the daycare. So let me understand this: an autistic child with an elopement risk gets through a gate while STAFF are opening it, and the solution is to kick the autistic child out? Absolutely not. Where was the conversation about what could have been done differently? Where was the accountability? Where was the safety plan? Where was the discussion about additional precautions around the gate now that they knew they were caring for a child prone to elopement? Instead, my child was the one who was no longer welcome. And Miss Lisa was one of the biggest reasons this experience left such a horrible impression on me. I found her rude, judgmental, impatient, and incredibly unpleasant when it came to dealing with my child's needs. Her attitude and facial expressions spoke volumes. As a mother, I could SEE when my child was being viewed as a problem rather than as a little boy with a disability who needed additional support. My question for Miss Lisa is simple: if you cannot regulate your own frustration, attitude, and emotions around an autistic child who is struggling, how are you supposed to help that child regulate theirs? YOU are the adult. He was the child. My son wasn't being "bad." He wasn't giving anyone a hard time for fun. He is autistic. Elopement is a real safety concern for many autistic children. The adults responsible for caring for these children need to understand that and have appropriate supervision and safety procedures in place. What also did not sit right with me was what I perceived as a completely different level of understanding and accommodation when special-needs children were connected to people who worked there. Apparently patience and accommodation can exist when it's convenient. I just didn't feel my child was afforded that same grace. And that is exactly why I'm writing this. Parents of autistic children often have to trust other adults with children who cannot always come home and clearly explain what happened, who said what, or how they were treated. Pay attention to how people treat your child when your child's disability becomes inconvenient for them. Anyone can smile at enrollment. Anyone can tell you they work with special-needs children. The real test is what happens when your child actually exhibits the behaviors associated with their disability. I saw what happened when mine did. He eloped after a staff member opened the gate. Nobody took accountability in a way that satisfied me. My autistic child was ultimately the one told he could not come back. That told me everything I needed to know. I would NEVER send my child back here, and I would not recommend Kids Academy to parents looking for genuinely autism-friendly or special-needs-inclusive childcare. Parents, please do your homework. Ask specifically about elopement. Ask how gates are secured during arrivals and departures. Ask what happens if your child becomes dysregulated. Ask how they accommodate disability-related behaviors. And most importantly, watch how they treat your child when your child requires more patience than everyone else. Because being "special-needs friendly" isn't about being nice when everything is easy. It's about how you treat the child when things are hard.

Transitioning into daycare can be such an emotional and nerve-wracking time for any parent, but the team at Tiny Tots made that journey so smooth. Every single caregiver poured love, patience, and attention into helping my kids feel safe, happy, and supported. As a working parent, there's nothing more reassuring than knowing your children are in an environment where they are not only cared for but genuinely loved. The activities they planned were always creative, engaging, and educational -- from water play days to hands-on science explorations and the adorable artwork my kids proudly brought home. Tiny Tots nurtured their curiosity, encouraged their imagination, and helped shape them into confident little learners. This place has left a lasting impact on our family, and while it's bittersweet to move on, we will always hold a special place in our hearts for the amazing teachers and staff.
