It really takes a lot for me to consider writing a bad review on someone. Im the first to understand that people can have a bad day or an "off" day. But this experience was way beyond that and I feel compelled to share it in hopes of saving someone else from the same thing. To start, the instructor Kristi showed up and from the get go wasn't very friendly. I arranged the lessons for my 2 year old. My daughter met her by the pool with a huge smile on her face, so excited, and Kristi didn't even smile back at her. She got in the pool and said come here. She then began just telling my daughter things to do. Put your face in the water, put your whole face, kick your legs, use your arms, all of which is well and good but my daughter is 2. If all I had to do was sit in the pool and "tell" my daughter how to swim then why in the world would I pay someone else to do that. I was under the impression children needed to be shown how to do things. Kristi never swam across the pool once she never kicked her legs. The ONLY thing she did was put her face in the water. Again my daughter is 2 not 7, she goes in the pool and plays and has fun. The pool has not been a place of instruction yet for her and Kristi was treating her like she's supposed to be this perfect student that sits still and does exactly what you say. HELLO she's 2 lady!! Have you never worked with a toddler before. Yes they have a hard time sitting still especially while they're doing something fun that they love to do. The next instruction was to hold onto the side of the pool, put one leg against the wall and hold one arm out straight towards her and push off the wall and glide through the water. And that was the exact words she said to my 2 YEAR OLD and when my daughter had a hard time understanding the foreign language this stranger was telling, her she kept fidgeting and trying to climb out of the pool. Kristi then kept repeating over and over, "you need to listen to me," I didn't say get out of pool", "you don't listen very well do you", "you don't like being told what to do, do you", then she said ''do you go to school" and I said NO she's 2! At that point my daughter was so confused and upset she started to cry and climbed out of the pool and ran over to me. Now at that point I should have wrapped her up in a towel and told Kristi to leave my house. But I honestly was trying to wait it out and see if this was going to get better. I can understand my daughter needs to listen but she had no concept of talking to a toddler. She talked fast and used words that she's never heard before and then got frustrated that my daughter didn't understand. She said glide across the pool. Well my daughter has never heard the word glide before. She doesn't understand what that means. And Kristi just stood there in my pool telling her to glide, over and over again. Maybe if she had demonstrated what she wanted done she would have had better luck but she never showed her anything. She literally just stood in my pool and told her what to do. My daughter started this experience with a smile on her face, eager to be shown new things. And she left upset and confused. I feel like a bad mother for allowing this woman to come to my home and treat my daughter this way. As soon as we went back inside I called the office right away and told them about our experience. Stephanie the owner never apologized for our experience she didn't offer any insight into why things would have gone the way they did. All she said was Ill take you off the schedule. As I stated in the beginning, I understand people can have bad days, but if you're having a bad day then you need to call off work and not bring your bad attitude to peoples homes and make their children cry! I would highly recommend anyone looking for private swim lessons NOT to use Little Aquatics Swim Lessons, LLC. read more
