Although management spruced up the equipment, added new flooring and painted, the men's locker room…read moreis not great. Not sure if it's the carpet or the ventilation system, but it does have a smell in various areas. I believe some of the smell is due to lockers that do not appear to have been opened in months based on the dust on some of the locks. (See picture. In the past, I was told if members pay their monthly locker charge, there is nothing they can do to alleviate any odors coming from a locker.) The men's steam room had been closed for almost two years as they are "renovating" it. Earlier this year, a sign was posted stating a new boiler was needed and they were requesting donations. (Dues just went up $4/month.) In addition, there are no staff members walking around the Strength Circuit equipment area in the evenings and some members stay at one machine for 10 minutes or longer. They even scroll on their phones even though signs are posted to be "courteous" of others who may want to use the machine. (See picture.) These signs were smaller and posted on each machine, but they seemed to have "disappeared". I have had to repeatedly ask if I could "work in" as some members think they own the machine. Not sure why members have to constantly ask to "work in". Shouldn't the offending members have some responsibilities to follow the rules?!! This past week, I had enough. I addressed one member who constantly uses one machine and scrolls on his phone consistently. I asked if I could work in. He said he had one more rep and didn't realize I wanted in. (This is not the first time he's told me this.) I told him he had been on the machine over 10 minutes and saw me walk by numerous times. Also, I stated scrolling on the phone is not allowed given the signs in this area. I just walked away. Another member (who is a long-time member like me) was at the machine next to him, heard what I said and thanked me. She said he is one of the worst offenders, but there are others just like him. She noted the courtesy rule is 3 reps and move on, plus no scrolling on the phone. She added respect seems to be missing from this gym. Amen! Obviously, management needs to do a better job of handling this situation as a few small signs are not deterring the problem.

Ms Becky also builds a relationship with each child where the child feels comfortable and confident of swimming with her. My 2 and 7 year old had passed the survival course with flying colors and this is all due to the dedication that the instructors put towards each child. The other coaches that work alongside Ms Becky are also wonderful. My oldest daughter has worked with Ms Annmarie and Ms Kelsi and she is going amazingly strong at her strokes. She is eager to pick back up yer classes as the new year starts. We love Safety first PediAquatics and we strongly recommend it to every family with little ones that lives in central Florida. These coaches will literally help you save your child's life in case of an accident. Thank you for all that you do!

She simply added those sessions to the end. I also really enjoyed the facility. It is indoors, and they close the big garage-like door when the weather is too chilly outside. The air is clean inside the facility (doesn't smell like an indoor pool), and the waiting room with the tv showing the pool lesson was great for us since my toddler is super super clingy. I was able to watch without having to stand right outside the pool where my daughter would see me. Looking forward to starting once a week maintenance lessons. Thanks Becky and Coach Mikey!

My daughter spent a year working with them 3 hours a day, 3 days a week. They continued to work her through injuries and assured us they were looking out for her and not pushing her too hard. She was promised certain things that never happened. When we requested a meeting with Jeff and/or Carol to question why they were not delivering on their promises, they both declined. Which was the last straw, so we pulled her out. My daughter will now spend the summer recovering from severs disease. They really showed their true colors towards the end and I wish I knew this sooner. The unprofessionalism is amazing as I can't figure out why a business owner or manager would not want to meet with the people who are help paying the bills. At the end of the day their business is doing well and neither one knew who we were. So not important enough to meet with I guess.

I cannot comment on the competitive team experience. Tumbling- No clear progression/levels which causes a major safety concern. Students trying to do a front handspring without even knowing how to do a cartwheel first. This also leads to very little progress as each class/coach has no real focus. I should have switched my daughter to DoubleDown years ago. She's learned more in a month there than she ever did at Metro. Birthday Parties- We've held two here. The ups are the affordability and having the entire play area to yourself which is just plain fun!! Don't expect too much from the party staff though. In addition, verify that you will have the whole space as we've attended some where there were teams training. Young kids recreational gymnastics classes- hit or miss depending on coach but unfortunately the coach overturn is constant. These can be fun and overall good for balance and coordination but don't expect your kids to learn too much unless they're willing to join the competitive side. Management at East location is poor. Overall I'm disappointed that I stuck with Metro for so long as I loved the proximity to my house. Waste of money.
