The rooms were well-maintained and everything from the bed to the bathroom was pristine. One aspect that really impressed me was the front desk staff. They arranged castle tour tickets for us. Just ask at check in and they will have them for you the next morning. As for transportation, getting to the castle was easy. Either walk, take the bus, or a horse and carriage ride. Just a heads-up, the horse and carriage only accepts cash. Unfortunately, the hotel's ATM was out of order during our stay, but there was one located close to the ticket booth. Also, I recommend making the short drive to Füssen. It's a charming spot with little shops, good food, and great views of the mountains. Pro tip: take a pretzel from breakfast and enjoy it with a view of the castle
Yelp Review 2023 #301:…read more Located in Schwangau, you can walk to Hohenschwangau Castle from here or drive a few minutes or catch a bus to Neuschwenstein Castle. You won't find a more convenient location than this. Close to the Germany-Austria border. Actually, you can get to 2 different countries from here in less than a 2-hour drive: Lichtenstein and Austria (Innsbruck). The room is pretty basic and outdated but what you're paying for is the convenience and the location. The same thing can be said about the bathroom. It is tiled but at least it's spacious and has everything you need. You're paying about $150/ night. You can take a day trip many different places from here. You can get to Oberammergau in an hour by car. You can rent a boat at Alpsee. Aside from the great location, they have a restaurant that has good food and lots of delicious cakes and desserts. The restaurant has a nice view of Hohenschwangau Castle. There's not a lot of restaurants in the area.

We ordered the veggie order and veggie pasta - both were delicious. They were able to accommodate us for dinner after 8pm . The breakfast buffet was also great with a lot of options. The only con I can think of - plumbing noise is very loud from adjacent rooms. The hotel is very close to Neuschwanstein castle and they have parking as well for 8 Euros per day.

It has a gift shop and two restaurants on the first floor. The main restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating. The outside patio is large and comfortable. Next to the main restaurant is a quick service area that is in a courtyard with additional tables. On our first visit we arrived at 9 am and my husband wanted what he called a "real" breakfast while my daughter, son-in-law and I wanted a bratwurst sandwich. At this restaurant we could do both. They serve eggs in many different ways with breakfast potatoes, sausages, pancakes and more. They courtyard area opens up with a griddle that cooks up (to almost a blister) the most amazing bratwursts that any of us have ever tasted. To make the sandwiches over the top and mind blowing they place it inside of a bun that could be described as manna from heaven and add a smear of incredible tasting Germany mustard. The bratwurst can not be compared to what we eat back home so about 5 hours after the first dining experience we went back for another sandwich.

We sat out on the patio and couldn't get enough. At night, the sky is dark enough to see a shimmering canopy of stars above, with the castle lit up in the distance. The staff was all very sweet, they sell drinks at the front desk, and the buffet breakfast for €10 was filling, varied, and much better than your standard hotel quality. It's located in the town of Schwangau and you can see the Neuschwanstein Castle from the balconies on many of the rooms. It's quite a picturesque view and a lovely area. The hotel has about 54 rooms and two restaurants a bar and wellness center. The staff are very nice here and the rooms are also nice. Breakfast is included and it was a nice assortment of choices that were well prepared. The bar is also very nice with a great list of cocktails and the bar tender here makes his own schnapps which are to die for :-) amazing hazelnut schnapps homemade. Our rooms were nice and comfortable with all the facilities you would expect including a nice bag for the use of the wellness center including towels and so on. If you forget your bathing suit they do have some you can borrow. All in all a lovely experience and I would come back here again.

It was dark when we were there but the walls were all glass and I bet the view is awesome during the daytime.
