I sent a detailed document with samples of the photos we wanted as well as a Pinterest page and Brianna had the Pinterest page open the whole time on her phone, looking to take advantage of any possible lighting/backdrops. We had another "big shot" photography company photograph our out-of-state wedding reception and even though I gave them a detailed description of what we wanted, a lot was missed and I felt like we were treated like numbers with them. I have had terrible experiences with JCPenny Studios in the past with making us wait well over an hour for family or newborn photos and with having extremely rude staff. I once had a photographer say that he wouldn't be positioning anyone for photos because his job was to only take the pictures. I do continue to use JCP photo because of their availability and pricing compared to using a personal photographer. I had the most wonderful experience with Anthony because took us on-time and was professional as well as trying his best to do whatever he could to get my 1,3 and 5 year old to smile. I do believe that corporate is mostly to blame. How can you expect good experiences from photographers that are given such small time frames to take family pictures?

The first time I went was for newborn pics, the girl staged photos of a large stuffed animal we bought as a prop for our newborn pics. The noodle she used to prop the stuffed animal up showed up in almost every single shot she took & ruined all our newborn pics. We had about 3 images to choose from. I was pissed. Do they not pay attention to the images they take on their camera & restage for quality?! We didn't complain. Second time we went was for family pics. The wait wasn't long but still waited for 15mins after our appointment time. The shoot went great & the photographer showed experience. We left happy. The date comes around to pick up our pics & I show up to get them. The pics weren't in yet & were delayed yet I got no call about it. I wasted my time & a trip to pick up pics that weren't there. The manager compensated me w/free pic magnets. I couldn't care less but still didn't leave a complaint w/anyone. Third time we went for 1yr baby pics, we waited wayyyy past our appointment time & there weren't many customers there; we must've waited for an hour or so. The photographer was good & did well directing the shoot. We had to then wait for a while AGAIN to be able to pick our images to order. Ok fine whatever. The send a survey email & hubby rips them a new one w/the shotty service. By now, we decide not to renew the portrait membership & never come back. Welp our relatives have the membership & wanted to do a generational family pic for the holiday & to none of my astonishment we show up at our appointment time for 11:40 & don't get our turn until 12:50!! By now my son had a full blown meltdown & I had to take him to the car to calm down. How does management book appointments & not honor the time especially working w/families w/young children?! The photographers have been consistent w/good shot but the overbooking & poor time management causes a shit storm at this place. While we were there, another family had waited for 2hrs & yelled at the manager btw. I'm never coming back here. This place is a hot mess!!
