I have waited quite some time to write this review. I have been visiting Dr. Ash for several weeks…read morenow twice a week and just recently started physical therapy there as well. I'm someone who's hypermobile and I have a lot of various issues with my body, including an old shoulder injury that I had surgery on. All of that had compounded into my dislocating a rib, which is how I found myself at the office. I have been through over a dozen clinics and therapists and chiropractors in my life and can genuinely say that this has been one of the best experiences and it's genuinely giving me hope that I will be able to not have to constantly live in discomfort. Dr. Ash listens intently to everything that you have to say and he's not afraid to allow your input to guide what he does. You spend a significant amount of time in his office for appointments doing a variety of things to help address whatever your issue is. For me it's an array of manual adjustment, stretching, and compression therapy. I'd after my first session with Dr. ashes relatively new physical therapist , I am excited to continue going. He spends significant one on one time with you and really make sure that you're actually understanding and gaining the benefits of the exercises - not just putting you through the motions. I can't count the number of times I found a great physical therapist, but then was passed off to doing the actual exercises with an intern. That's not the case here. 10/10 recommend and will keep coming back and genuinely can't believe I found somewhere that might actually be able to help genuinely fix my body. Only other call out is make sure you read the parking signs because there's only street parking available and I wouldn't recommend parking in the one hour meter slots unless you're sure that your appointment will be less than that time. If you're willing to go 3 to 4 blocks away from the office, you'll find easy 2 hour free parking and honestly, you should walk around after your appointment anyways to help everything settle in.

Unfortunately, what should have been a routine healthcare visit turned into an extremely disappointing and frustrating experience. Everything started with a simple patient intake form. When I arrived, the receptionist handed me an iPad to complete my registration and medical history forms. While I was filling out the paperwork, the iPad locked itself and requested a PIN that had never been provided to me. I had to ask the receptionist for assistance. She got up from her desk and unlocked the device. Shortly afterward, the exact same thing happened again. The iPad locked itself a second time, requiring the receptionist to come over and unlock it once more. Technical problems happen. That is understandable. What is unacceptable is how the situation was handled afterward. Instead of properly resolving the technical issue, the receptionist suggested that I complete my medical intake forms over the phone with another office assistant, while remaining at the front desk in a waiting area occupied by other patients. Think about that for a moment. I was being asked to verbally provide private personal and medical information, potentially including my medical history, physical conditions, injuries, and other sensitive details, within hearing distance of complete strangers. How can a healthcare office consider this an appropriate way to collect confidential patient information? The receptionist actually handed me the phone. The assistant on the other end explained that we could complete the medical paperwork together over the phone and asked whether I agreed. My answer was very clear: NO. I was not willing to discuss my confidential medical information in front of other patients. California has specific patient confidentiality protections, including HIPAA requirements and the California Confidentiality of Medical Information Act. I expect employees working in a healthcare facility to understand the importance of protecting patient information and to provide reasonable, private alternatives when collecting sensitive medical details. To be clear, I am not claiming that my medical information was actually disclosed, because I refused to proceed with the phone conversation. My concern is the inappropriate procedure I was offered and the way my objections were handled. The situation became even worse when I questioned the receptionist. I explained that she had already needed to get up twice to unlock an iPad provided by the office. I asked why, instead of fixing the problem, she was proposing a telephone conversation that could compromise my privacy. I also expressed my frustration and questioned whether her unwillingness to continue assisting me was the reason she had suggested this alternative. At that point, I expected a professional explanation, an apology for the inconvenience, or a reasonable solution. Perhaps a paper form, another functioning device, or a private area where I could provide the necessary information. Instead, her response was: "YOU CAN LEAVE THE OFFICE." Seriously? A patient arrives for a healthcare appointment, experiences repeated problems with the office's own equipment, raises legitimate concerns about medical confidentiality, and is then told to leave? I found that response incredibly disrespectful, dismissive, and unprofessional. I told her that I could certainly leave, but that I would also share my experience publicly through an honest review. And that is exactly what happened: I left the office without receiving the chiropractic treatment I had scheduled. What bothers me most is not the malfunctioning iPad. Technology sometimes fails. What bothers me is the apparent lack of problem-solving skills, the poor customer service, the dismissive attitude, and the failure to offer a reasonable alternative when I expressed concerns about my privacy. A healthcare facility should make patients feel respected, listened to, and protected. Patients should not feel pressured to discuss sensitive medical information in a public waiting area simply because the office cannot keep its registration equipment functioning properly. And they certainly should not be told to leave simply because they question a procedure they believe is inappropriate. I want to make it clear that this review concerns my experience with the front desk staff and administrative procedures. I never received treatment, so I cannot evaluate the chiropractor's clinical abilities. However, the front desk is the first point of contact for patients, and the way patients are treated there reflects directly on the overall experience of the practice. Stay away From this Place.

My experience with the office of Dr. Brooks and Dr. Kristyn Silver-Brook has been the best chiropractic care I have ever received. What sets Light + Bone apart is their office's comprehensive approach. They combine traditional chiropractic adjustments with personalized stretches, exercises, and movements designed to support long-term healing and recovery. I have seen noticeable improvement since starting treatment and always look forward to my appointments. Dr. Brooks is thorough, reassuring, and just an overall great guy who I highly respect. Highly recommend Light + Bone Chiropractic.

I've dealt with chronic back pain for years, and finding Dr. Brook was one of the best things I've…read moreever done for my health. What I loved most was how data driven his approach was. He took X-rays, did mobility testing, and tracked my progress over time. I wasn't just hoping I was getting better. I could actually see the changes in my X-rays and the improvement in my range of motion. That gave me so much confidence that I was on the right path. With regular adjustments and preventative care, my back pain got to the point where I was able to start lifting weights, practice yoga and Pilates consistently, and live my life without constantly thinking about my back. If I ever tweaked something, one visit with Dr. Brook usually had me feeling like myself again. I'd always walk out feeling straighter and taller. He's also just an incredible person. He's kind, positive, and one of those people who immediately puts you at ease. Somehow he always knew exactly what was going on with my spine before I even said anything. It still amazes me. When he moved to Encinitas, I was genuinely bummed. But I'll happily make the two hour drive every month or two because I can't imagine trusting anyone else with my spine. He's that good. I recommend Dr. Brook to anyone dealing with back pain or just wanting to take better care of their spine. I only wish he were still closer to Los Angeles.
