The reason for the one-star rating is not the quality of the massage, which was very good. What I…read moredid not like was that the overall experience was not at all calm or soothing. I had never had a Chinese massage before, so didn't know what to expect, but from what I've now read online, the general atmosphere of this place is similar to other places that do Chinese massage.
My husband and I had massages in the same room (I had requested separate rooms) and the two masseuses more or less constantly talked back and forth to each other. We were behind only a thin partition, so we could hear people in the waiting area talking and laughing the whole time. I was in the midst of getting dressed when someone came in to change the sheets on the massage table to get ready for the next client. Privacy and a calm environment are clearly not meant to be part of the experience.
My husband said later that it felt as though we were getting massages in the lobby of a Chinese restaurant and it gave us a good laugh! It was definitely an interesting experience but one that neither of us would ever want to repeat. Feeling relaxed is as important as the quality of the massage, and relaxing this was not!.
