That said, while I am not impressed with its natas, I did enjoy my lunch at this place. It sits right in front of the entrance/exit to the Sao Jorge Castle, and I am surprised how non-touristy this place is.
A sandwich here is only €2.85. And it's a good sized sandwich, not your 100 Motaditos ones. It's made with nice bread, meat and cheese, with aragula and cherry tomatoes, with a drizzle of olive oil on top. There are quite a few choices too, from vegan to prosciutto to sardines. You can also get three for a slight discount. They also have caldo verde, the quintessential Portuguese soup, and a variety of interesting drinks, tea, etc.
All in all, a surprisingly delicious and affordable meal.
