So we decided to do another shoot again with Michelle, since our first shoot came out so lovely and I still love them to this day! My husband is always hesitant about photos as well and hates getting them done, but Michelle makes it really easy for everyone involved, including my toddler! I can't recommend Michelle enough, especially those with kids as she made it quick and easy and the photos came out even better than expected! They are so beautiful, yet again! I remember going to the Sharp clinic for pediatrician visits and seeing her photography on the San Diego Family Magazines. She's very down to earth, sociable, understanding, on-time, offers varied themed photo sessions in addition to regular appointment gigs, and maybe most importantly?... she's able to make my kids laugh (even with doing her gig solo!). This attribute makes for great, genuine photos. She will also provide feedback on outfits and "pose" you (little things I'm grateful for since I'm not much of a posing person and then single Dad trying to figure out outfits and what not). The only bad thing I can say, if it's a negative at all, is the online system to select/order photos from has a clunkiness to it specifically with the favorite/star system, but Chris points this out as part of her instructions and advises how to work that. So it's not enough to detract from rating (and I'd feel fake listings only all pro's and no con's).

I had to re-crop and edit majority of all photos as best I could as all the edits completely washed out our skin tone, the colors of the sky etc. I asked for the raws so I could just edit them myself from scratch and it's been 2 weeks and still haven't received them. Didn't remind us or inform to take phones/wallets out of pockets so those just look lovely in all our photos **sarcasm**. I am deeply saddened by the outcome of the photos provided by this company. We were initially promised a specific photographer, 'Josh,' based on his recommended portfolio. However, only one week before our wedding, we were assigned 'Anel,' whose work we had never seen. On our wedding day, the level of professionalism and quality of work was unacceptable: Lack of direction: There was little to no guidance on posing or lighting. The photographer made comments like, 'What was that?' or 'What's that face?' instead of providing constructive direction. Poor Technical Execution: Many family photos feature heavy, unflattering shade cast across faces. Across the entire collection, there is only one usable, direct shot of my husband and me facing the camera. Absenteeism: During the cocktail hour, which we hired the photographer to cover, the photographer was found sitting in the dressing room instead of actively taking candid photos of our guests. I actually had to seek out the photographer to initiate coverage of the event. Frankly, the final delivered collection lacked the quality and professional execution we would expect from a paid vendor. It felt like paying a friend to snap photos, not a professional with an understanding of lighting and composition. A further point of concern: not a single photo from our wedding has ever been featured on the company's website or social media. We anticipated a high level of work based on the company's advertised portfolio, and what we received fell far short of that professional standard.

This includes helping you with bustling your dress, carrying your gown train around, securing your veil to the back of your head, or pining boutonnières on for your parents/wedding party members. I was especially grateful for her in doing all the boutonnière pinnings as I had no idea how to do that and definitely did not want the added stress of trying to figure it out on the day of. One tip that I suggest when taking your engagement or wedding photos is to have some ideas of poses you want or have a list of the specific sites you want to take pictures at your wedding venue. I regret not doing this as, after the wedding, we realized there were a couple places we wish we had taken more photos at. Additionally, our wedding photos had many similar poses sprinkled throughout and I wish I had researched/looked at more wedding photos in general to get ideas of what other poses we could've done. However, considering how much details are involved in weddings, these are sort of just "cherry on the top" stuff which would've been nice to have but aren't deal breakers. I was excited to use this studio after booking on peerspace for my music video shoot! The plan was…read moreto use fake blood on a white background, and I know some studios are scared of that so I contacted them ahead of time and was assured this would be no issue. Katie from management told us "We've had messier shoots" as you see in the attached photo messages and that worst case we'd pay a $100 repainting fee We finished our video shoot and there was quite a mess of blood that needed mopping. We asked the on staff manager multiple times if there was more we could do to help clean as we did NOT want to leave the place in a mess that the location would be unhappy with. We were reassured multiple times by THEIR staff that we were good to go and they would "take care of it". We also stayed behind with the artist from our shoot, videographer, and director to assist however we could. Before leaving, once again we were reassured the place would be all set. After all...we paid a cleaning fee AND the repainting fee that was mentioned. The next day I get a scathing unprofessional phone call and texts from the owner who clearly had not communicated with Katie or the on staff manager and was upset at the mess left. I was shocked! We had such a great time, in fact I even left an amazing review for them on peerspace! I was forced by peerspace to pay an additional $400 in cleaning fees, which I did... and they had the AUDACITY to write me a bad review as if I was to blame for their staffs poor communication skills. YES we were aware this would be a messy shoot, that's why we asked up front AND prior to leaving if they needed us to clean more. There's a lot of other places to film your projects. I'd avoid here. They blame the client for their own poor communication. They could've told us no up front...they didn't. The on staff manager could've asked us to clean up better prior to leaving after we stayed later and asked if they needed more from us....they didn't. We were reassured multiple times we were all set prior to leaving the set. And then were charged hundreds of dollars on TOP of the cleaning and repainting fee we offered. I'm not sure how this would be our crews fault, but such is life. This business is untrustworthy and run by an unhinged owner. AVOID.
