Lot of mixed sugary bottles here. The prices are about the same but this store stocks items for a younger clientele for sure. Some whiskeys and gin bait generally vodka and then Jager or Fireball. Two main registers here. Not a huge store but they are quick to check out patrons. As far as suggesting a specific palette they are not bothered. Just want to restock the shelves and clock out. Still if you are on this side of town well worth a visit to see what's in stock.

Well things are 180 degrees from then and I want to say the service is very good now even for people that don't know how to use electronic menus. The feeling is very warm and welcoming. They have a fine selection of wines and the atmosphere with old wood floors and old brick walls makes it very comfortable to sit and enjoy an appetizer and glass or two of wine. It's on the main drag of this town, just a few blocks from the hotel we were at. The "Liquor Store." Yes, pretty generic branding, but not out of the norm in a town that also has a restaurant simply signed as "Eats" and also a furniture store called "Furniture Store" a few blocks down. [Creative names don't abound here. They should call it "El Liquor Store" just to kick it up a notch.] She paid for it (I LOVE HER). Probably a few bucks more for a fifth than what I usually pay in Seattle or she pays in L.A. (minus 1-Star), but what can you do when you are hundreds of miles "deep into the stix." [I already had the mixers back in my room.] So there you go. [Some transactions are painfully simple and don't require "fluffy linguistic skills" to relay the ambiance of a room, or the presentation of an entree.] CONVENIENT FOR THE WRONG REASON I should also say that we came back here a second time when we were at the wake (for our uncle Jack - no relation to Jack Daniels) across the street at the Elks Lodge from El Liquor Store. They have the occasional special edition versions that come out which is neat to see in a small town. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. They have limited mixers or chasers so if you're looking for that and/or beer or wine take a trip down the road to the grocery store to find a bigger selection. The…read morestate liquor website said this location had twelve bottles--the last in the state!--so we made sure to time our trip to the east side of the state just right so we'd make it here before they closed. And we made it! Only to be informed by the bored/cranky worker that they did not have said bottles, never really did since they were all spoken for before they hit the shelves, and that the website is always wrong. The Christmas decor more than made up for the disappointment. Picture a fake cardboard fireplace pushed against the wall, and curled up in front of it a cozy little porcelain kitty cat. Not at all creepy. Now, I haven't been to too many liquor stores, but this was by far the smallest I've ever seen. Kind of nice, actually, as long you don't need anything specific. You certainly won't have to wait in any lines.
