It's a big bright store with lots of selection that you won't find at other liquor stores. This store is Vancouver Islands largest privately owned liquor store. There are big dinosaurs and other animal statues and figures placed all over the store. I was so entertained walking around the store. There was a giant aquarium at the back of the store too. Nowadays, I pop in when I'm at the MOY since it's right next door. The staff have been nothing but pleasant every time I visit, despite the crackheads and drunks they deal with on a daily basis. If it's slow they'll usually get a little more chatty about weird stuff they see and experience. I've seen them be pretty cold to people who act obnoxious on Friday or Saturday nights. They have a great selection of local craft beer and their prices are in line with the Swans or Rialto liquor stores.

You'd think a business would have a keener sense of the supply and demand curve, but I guess they do well with their stable clientele of alcoholics who arrive clearly intoxicated and pay with fistfuls of pennies. I suggest walking an extra few blocks in a different direction and go to the Strath Ale Merchants, Cook St. Liquor or even Liquor Express.

This is a cute little liquor store. They had a good variety of local wines and liquor that I…read morehaven't seen in the U.S. so I was intrigued to want to try them all (Too bad it wouldn't all fit in my luggage). We picked up a couple Malbec wines to go with the evening's steak dinner and a box of Mike's Hard Mango Lemonade that I haven't seen in the states yet so I was dying to try (me love me some mango anything! It was actually quite tasty by the way!). Guy at cashier was patient when I couldn't make up my mind when I kept turning around when something new caught my eye. If I lived there, this would definitely be my spot.
