This store still has all the basics, and a lot of stuff you might never know you needed! I came in looking for a cold sixer of beer to take to the lake. Fortunately, this place stocks coolers and coolers full of imports, the major national brands, and even some local beers! I was pleased to find Lorelei Brewing out of Corpus Christi here. I browsed the other sections, and found that they had an ample selection of the regular brands here, and lots of little airplane bottles as well! The staff was pleasant enough. They seemed more interested in stocking and getting their jobs done than giving me room to shop or answer questions. But they were busy, and I knew what I was looking for, so no big deal. The parking was super easy with a great lot that was well lit and clean.

But, upon entry, I was greeted by Shanna, and she instantly engaged me in a discussion about bourbon. She proved to be knowledgeable and we chatted a bit....then she turned me on to a special varietal of Basil Hayden's. I purchased it and had to drive all the way to San Antonio before opening the bottle, which was torture. Thank you, Shanna. Your pleasant demeanor and welcomed advice made my night. My advice to those of you in the area is to patronize B&L. Neighborly service is a lost art that Shanna still practices. Spending a tad more for a bottle is worth that kind of experience.
