Take the Leap Coaching with Kim Childs

East Arlington

I found Kim Childs by doing a Google Search for Life Coaches near me. I had been floundering for a…read morefew years, and grew to be very unhappy with the stagnation in my life after the COVID-19 pandemic. My husband's coworker talked about how he had worked with a life coach in middle age to help him figure out his next steps after an intercontinental move to the US. I read Kim's website and noticed she was associated with Kripalu, is a former yoga instructor, and I was intrigued. I read a bit of her blog and decided to email to set up an introductory phone call. I felt like we connected on the call. She was lighthearted, but helped me move forward with action items in just that one phone call. Before our first meeting, I was really nervous. I didn't know what she would be like in person (I can pick up on other people's energy very easily), but I was soon at ease as I realized she is a kind and thoughtful person, who is also joyful and positive. She is spiritual, and educated, with an "East Meets West" style of coaching. During my three months working with her I explored more opportunities than I have in a decade on my own. Having biweekly meetings held me accountable, but gave me time in between sessions to accomplish our collaboratively created goals. If I didn't accomplish everything, that was fine. We would discuss what I didn't do and decide whether to add it to the next to do list or drop it. She taught me how to better read my intuition when making decisions, and to clear negative beliefs that were holding me back. I now have a path forward to explore several interests, and I have the tools Kim taught me to use along the way. She also referred me to an amazing acupuncturist/reiki master when I expressed interest in energy healing (this alone was worth a million dollars). Working with Kim for three months has been more effective in changing my life than five years of therapy. I urge anyone who is on the fence to take the leap and explore whether she is a good fit. The worst that will happen is she's not the right fit for you; the best that will happen is Kim Childs will change your life!

It sounds cliche, but we worked together for 6 weeks and it totally turned me around in a better direction. If you are really ready to work at making a change in your life, Kim is an incredible guide - warm, creative, empathetic and full of great ideas. The best investment I could make in myself!

Thank goodness for Stephanie!!!…read more I decided to look for a life coach when I felt like therapy wasn't exactly what I was looking for (I had previously been working with a therapist and didn't feel it was the right route for me). I did some initial research online for life coaches in the area and set up a consultation with Stephanie, this was at the beginning of March. I have been chatting weekly ever since. I feel like Stephanie and I had an instant connection. She completely understood what I wanted to work on and helped me through some big life changes. Changes like losing a loved one (or two in my case!), looking for a new job/career, and everyday life struggles (trying to stay healthy, how to reconnect with lost friends, how to communicate better with my husband). She has been such a positive influence for me and helps me work through even the littlest of problems (without ever making me feel like it is a little problem). One of the many accomplishments we worked through was getting a new job! She helped me through "mock interviews", how to negotiate salary, and how to get through the first few weeks of work. I thought to myself, once I'm settled at my new job, I feel like I can stop working with Stephanie as often as I do. But I can't. I love her positive vibes, the way she can make me rethink a problem or issue, and that sometimes things that I may have not thought were bothering me, come out in our conversation naturally. Stephanie is easy to talk to. I feel like when I'm talking through anything, there is never judgement or criticism. Only positive feedback. And that's what has really made me love working with her. Now I've become a super positive person as well. Our talks have made me look at things or problems a different way and reevaluate how i can make my decision. Even my husband has noticed a change! I'm so grateful that in my "google search" Stephanie was there and I made the decision to consult with her. So to Stephanie: Thank you, thank you, thank you....You are the best! :)

She brings compassionate insight, warmth, and clear focus to each conversation, from the moment a coaching relationship begins. Her creativity, practicality, and most of all, sincere interest, shines through in every moment of working together. I've loved her ability to take a big-picture approach while also always guiding me toward specific strategies tailored to my personal focus. She has offered richly-layered philosophical frameworks as inspiration to guide our work together, introducing me to writers and visionaries who have transformed my mindset over time. Indeed, in each session, she has equipped me with practices that have felt immediately intuitive, and which I will keep as part of my daily life going forward. With her guidance, I've achieved aspirations, imagined new possibilities, and learned a lot through the journey. I am profoundly grateful.

Lucy is an empathetic listener who will ask hard questions (in a very kind way). She kept me "on topic" and accountable as I met my personal and career goals. She shared knowledge and resources relating to salary negotiation, resume building, LinkedIn and answering interview questions. Lucy helped me navigate a difficult conversation at work and I am truly grateful for her support in advocating and speaking up for myself. As we continued to work together, I further clarified my personal values, skills and strengths which gave me a clearer sense of purpose. I am no longer stuck in my head and am making active steps forward. If you are thinking of working with Lucy you should do it!! I came to her feeling confused and a bit fearful, and just a few months later am feeling ambitious and excited about my future. I was just accepted into an amazing graduate program in nursing, a path that I had only vaguely considered prior to working with Lucy. I am confident that I would not be in this spot today, with a big door wide open in front of me, if I had not worked with Lucy. She is patient, intelligent, non-judgmental and most importantly - warm and kind. I can't recommend working with Lucy enough.

I originally found their listing on a few job boards and it was clear to me that I was contacting a recruiting agency and not applying for a job itself, so I cannot speak for those suggesting false information and the like. The next day I received a call to meet with the team I would be working with and had a very pleasant experience doing so. After some time of minimal contact, things started to kick back up and I had weekly check-ins with a member from the team I was working with. This eventually led to a multiple interviews with an employer I had successfully landed a job with. I found the feedback provided by my Workbridge team helpful as they always made sure I was prepared for an upcoming interview. My sole gripe would be that the information provided can often be reiterated a few too many times, and many times the questions I'm asked feel more like they're being read from a script as opposed to genuine curiosity. But overall, if you need some extra help landing a role, I would advise you to give Workbridge a chance.
