There is a ton of field space to picnic or kick a soccer ball around! The playground is HUGE and has multiple areas! It would be extremely had to be "bored" here! There are picnic tables, lots of chairs and benches around. The playground does have concrete but most areas are rubber or turf grass (yay no messy sand or pebbles stuck in shoes!) The other nice part about this park is that it felt very inclusive! Lots are areas in this part for all ages, sizes and abilities! There is also a skate park! It can get very busy, so coming in the morning or later in the evening will give you the best chance at parking, watching your kids closely and getting to play on all of the equipment!

We made a mental note to stop in after our bite to see what it had going on. Cut to an hour later after some good eats we waled into this park. I don't know the history of how this place came to be but it must be interesting. I've never seen a park like it. There were huge concrete teddy bears all over. Kids wee playing around them and we of course took some pics with them. Personally i enjoyed that it was up again the epically large bluffs from the river. the steep cliffs were beautiful and a great backdrop for the park. It's not very large, and there isnt much else to do in the park, but it's definity a spot to stop into and admire.

Then just recently, I brought a friend here. There are trails and plenty of picnic spots! I like getting local takeout or coffee, eating and catching up with a friend, then walking the trails. It's also a free park with plenty of amenities so you can't beat that. Trails are very easy to traverse and the loops available you could do a very short or moderately long walk (or run, bike, whatever). There is a small lake you can walk over if water is your thing and lots of birds and deer. The Discovery Center does have events every so often, so check the website for a calendar of what's happening.

The nature center building is closed on the weekend but the trails are open dawn to dusk. The trails were nice and secluded with so many native species of trees and flowers and animals. The trials aren't very well labeled as far as direction so taking a picture of the map was handy! The overall terrain was very easy and took us 30 minutes to walk the majority of the trail with frequent stops to read signs and watch birds. I would highly recommend and will be back again!

Started at the central Park entrance off of Dale street walked all the way to the nature center, around the boardwalk and back--it was a lovely path. Much of it was paved, but there was some dirt/wooden trails once you got to the nature center. They have bathrooms, but I couldn't find a water fountain which was a bummer. Definitely a cool spot right in the middle of the neighborhood. It is a busy place though so the parking lot does fill up but there's also a few parking lots and plenty of street parking.

Past the east end parking lot there is an open area with plant and flower types lightly explained with rock formations. There are walking paths circling the park. There is the better known area on the west end of the roadway with playground and picnic equipment.
