£110 for the night including breakfast and a fridge under the stairs, which had fresh milk, soft drinks and beers. No extra charge.
The place was spotless!!
If this place hasn't entered the Channel 4 - 4 in a bed competition, then it should.
I read an entry in the guest book and the phrase that stands out is, "attention to detail". I wrote the same.
A good welcome by Elizabeth and showed me to my room and explained everything I needed to know. It contained all that was needed, from coffee to tea, and toiletries in the bathroom. The bathroom was a wet room. It also had a bidet. I did have a challenge of keeping the toilet seat up, but eventually met the challenge. NOTE TO GRAHAM - Worth a look.
There was even a trouser press in the open wardrobe. Extra pillows and quilts. The extra pillows had plain cotton pillowcases, which I prefer; the ones on the bed were textured fabric (I'm not a fashion guru, so that's my best description).
The bed was extremely comfortable.
I liked the ironic touch of one of the DVDs: Fawlty Towers.
There was plenty of detail available of the surrounding area and in the information pack there were also details of the local restaurants.
The breakfast offerings were splendid. I started with cornflakes. Then the full English, as they say, but I requested mine to be minus the beans and tomatoes. However, I requested an extra fried egg. You must also remember that all the things on your plate are locally produced. Elizabeth seemed to want to apologise for the larger than usual sausage; not a complaint I was wanting to make. LOL. Even the flour for making the homemade bread was locally sourced. Yes, homemade bread!!! The preserves were homemade too with whisky infused marmalade.
Unfortunately, my stay was to attend a funeral, but if I had to be down in the area again, then this is the place I'd stay. read more
