All are nice and have river access. We stayed in the Sundance cabin - a one bedroom - right on the Shenandoah River. 9 acres. What a view! Hot tub on the COVERED deck overlooking the view of the valley. sitting in the tops pf the trees and you can watch the hawk hunt. fire pit down on the river with chairs for comfort. 2 big meadows where deer wander in the mornings. paths along the river. gas fireplace. great kitchen. wsher and dryer. fantastic bathroom and shower. new flat screen TV. wifi. brought our laptop and hdmi and watched movies at night and when it rained. clean clean clean. Very private. a fantastic get away and only 1 hour and 20 minutes from DC. Highly recommended. 15 minutes from Front Royal and 10 minutes from Luray. I nearly kept one star because the grill is fixed on the wrong side of the cabin - a gas grill on that deck really would have made it perfect. But, we really had a great time and were incredibly pleased. Bring your food and booze, grab a cocktail and get in that hot tub and watch the sunset.

Tubing Review: We had an amazing time. Was is exhausting,…read moreyes. Worth it, yes! Owen was great. He was a great driving the stick shift bus back to the outfitters. It was nice being dropped off and picked up. We did have issues with our card online, but when I called in to book, Nancy was helpful. She got us all situated and sent an email to confirm. We filled out waivers online which was a breeze. We watched a quick safety video, picked up our lifevest and were on our way. The water was the perfect temp, and it was clear. Tips: bring snacks and water. You are out there 4-5 or longer hours. Especially if the water is low, which ours was. We used a waterproof bag and had no issues. We used a tube with a cup holder which was nice. I wore my life vest out of precaution even though I can swim, plus it made it comfortable for my to use it as a neck rest. I've noticed people mention in previous reviews that the bus was dirty ect. Um, you're in the woods. If you get picked up after many other groups the bus will be dirty as everyone is wet coming out of the water no matter what activity you choose. I would not own a brand spanking new vehicle for this type of environment and job. Used is best and saves money I'm sure. Wear a hat and sunglasses, put in that sunscreen. Bring a waterproof phone case/bag. You will have no service out there so put it on airplane mode and use it as a camera.

We stayed at Misty River and are already talking about coming back next year for a two week vacation on the river. The cabins are rustic but we'll appointed. Older cabins with nice furnishings, a big screen HD TV, hot tub, full kitchen with all the essentials and all the sky, trees and River you could hope for. We had all kinds of plans to run all over the valley doing touristy stuff but spent nearly all it time at the cabin We spent every night near the water with a fire in the fire pit and every day playing in the water and fishing. The sound of the rapids to the north of the cabin help you drift off to sleep at night while the fireflies twinkle outside of your window. We fell in love with Misty River and plan to visit other Country Place cabins in the future.

Not my style to allow this. Beginning the first stage of the battle. It goes without saying that most book cabins in the fall to sit outside on deck by fire pit, emphasized on ads, to "gaze at the stars". Fire pit, had no cover, and full of water and ashes. Electric Grill had been left plugged in, potential fire to forrest and lethal to bears. Many fees charged eg in addition to the advertised nightly fee, and the tax, there are nickel dime fees such as "Host fee", and "service fee", and on top of it, VRBO, in stealth like manner, adds a fee, after you agree and click on book. Different story. Story on hosts accomplishments and education which have little to do with Owner's current profession, a real estate agent. NO disclosure of such, which is believed to be a Real Estate Commission requirement. There is a reason the Commission has made disclosure necessary. Listing states, cameras in front. Later I noticed where it was stated, "two way audio". Upon unlocking front door, immediately, I told my wife, "this place smells smoke. Listing says no smoking. Wife came to front door and stated, just smells old, I dont think it is smoke" . This clearly was heard by host, and since then it was clear that the smell was from old , not changed sheets. Mountain/river view maybe when tree leaves have fallen. Sectional, had been removed and stored by Owner , not disclosed to renter. Sofa bed inoperative, and only after owner consultation and back breaking work, while at same time having the pleasure of having nose inches from yellowish sheets that appeared to have been on sofa bed and used by several guests. Deck , not as per photos, shaking when one walked on it. Lets, get to the tip of the iceberg. Below pics tell more than a story.

The boat drop is right at the bottom of the hill, walkable if you wanted to. All we had to bring was groceries, everything else is provided! Definitely will stay here again
