Best auto repair shop in the GTA. I have been going there for 20 years and I trust Dimitri and his crew without exception

******************* VERY INCOMPETENT, DISHONEST, HAS NO RESPECT FOR OTHERS TIME, BAD SERVICE, BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE, **********STAY AWAY********* Decided to get him to work on my truck. Dropped the truck for a front break job, also at the same time asked him to adjust my Emergency break since it didn't work and look into my belts squeaking periodically. Went to pick it up the next day and was advised that my water pump was leaking. Asked him to replace it. Came back next day to see him frustrated that the new pump that he ordered had a crack and was leaking, FINE. This happens sometimes with new parts. I do hvac for living and sometimes get defective parts. Picked up the car with new breaks and new pump. GOOD. Get home and try to pull on the handbrake, no bueno. Doesn't work like it didn't work before. BAD Car still squeaks. Call him and drop off the car few days later. Tells me the tensioner is bad. Tell him to replace it. And once he is at it, to replace the belt even though the belt was changed previous year. Go into the shop next day at the time we agreed, he is working on installing a new tensioner. Installed. GOOD. Gets the belt, tells me belt is too short and wont fit. BAD. Go home, truck squeals. 2-3 months later call him to replace rear brakes and ask him to adjust parking brake. Tells me to drop off the car on Wednesday morning. I was working Wednesday morning so called and spoke to his secretary and advised her that i will drop off the car on Tuesday night and leave the key. She said ok. Pull up to Lino's auto on Tuesday at 8pm and there is still guys there. Leave the car with them. Call Lino's Auto on Wednesday afternoon to inquire about my car. Not ready. They didn't even look at it. WTF? no phone calls? Nothing? Say car will be ready next day. Go there next day, they say brakes are ready but i need a new radiator as the radiator in the truck is leaking, Parking brake not working. Wasn't leaking before and didn't see anything on my driveway. Fine. Tell them to order a new radiator. Setup an appointment to come at 1pm and wait. Dimitry said 2 1/2 hours to his secretary and said he would order a new radiator. Dimitri tells me to remind him to adjust parking brake on next visit. ???????????????? BAD. On the way home, notice brakes grinding bad. Come next day, radiator not there. Tells me to come next day at 2pm. Show up next day at 1pm to wait till it's done. Tells me to take one of his cars, and that the job will be done in 3 hours. Remind him of the parking brake and grinding. He said everything will be done. Call him at 5. Tells me truck will be ready at 6pm and that he will call me. Calls me at 6:31pm and tells me truck wont be ready till tomorrow. BAD. WTF???????????????????? Tells me he wants to keep the truck overnight to get rid of all the bubbles in the radiator. Truck has all my tools and parts for my job. Can't work without it. Picked up the car. Car drives ok. All the seals underneath the hood around the engine cover were slapped together in a bad manner. Had to align everything myself on my driveway. Still hear a little of grinding in rear wheels. But the best part is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!................ MY EMERGENCY BRAKE IS THE SAME IT WAS. This is the type of work they do. I called Dimitri on my way home and asked "Did you adjust my emergency brake" his response was "A little bit". HOW ABOUT I PAY YOU A "LITTLE BIT" FOR YOUR SHI**Y WORK??????????????????????????? At the beginning of all this, after my first visit, i told one of my friends that finally i have found an honest and good mechanic. What a mistake it was. My friend dropped off his Audi A7 there in the morning to get his AC fixed. Was assured he would receive a phone call when car ready. Called them closer to their closing time to ask what time he could pick it up. They never even looked at the car. I suggest you take your vehicle somewhere else. My in-laws have been going to Lino's for at least 20 years and were always satisfied with the work done. Because we live a bit of a distance away in downtown Toronto (40-60 minute drive depending on traffic, with few transit options back), we weren't regular customers - but occasionally would go there when an issue arose when we were nearby (dead batteries, flat tires etc.). Having normally dealt with the dealership for our car (supposedly the "experts", but remarkably consistent in charging high prices and failing to solve problems) and comparing with Lino's...for the past few years, we now **only** go to Lino's. Although it's a pain to drive the longer distance, and we have to arrange for a ride/transit if the car needs to stay overnight - we go to that trouble now because they are consistently knowledgeable, conscientious and skilled at getting the job done, and more importantly...getting the job done *right*. There have been a number of occasions where they could have made more money off of the work or rightfully charged us for services, but haven't done so. They try to save customers' money by getting less expensive parts when it doesn't matter, and will recommend others when it does. We recently had a problem with a faulty part, and after replacing it they found that the 2nd part was also not working properly and stayed working on it for 90 minutes after they were supposed to close so that I could take the car home. After determining that the part could not be used, they told me that it wasn't safe to drive and apologized for the trouble. The next day, after getting a better quality part - they charged me only for the difference in the cost of the part, but *none* of the labour that they had taken on as part of this (I was in the garage for some of this work, and I estimate about 5 hours of labour went in to this). They said that it shouldn't be a customer's responsibility to pay for labour when the cause was inferior parts. The final straw with our dealership was when they charged us thousands of dollars to "fix" a problem we had and despite returning 3 times (being charged each time), the problem would recur. After going to Lino's, he quickly diagnosed the problem (completely unrelated to what the dealership thought it was) and fixed it properly. The issue could have been prevented in the first place if the dealership had been doing proper maintenance (we had been going regularly), but they didn't lubricate the super-charger and it eventually seized. Lino retired a few years ago and passed away last year unfortunately, but Dmitri who had been working there for a number of years before that, took over the business and he, Steve and Wayne are excellent at what they do and I can't recommend them highly enough. Got my 2008 BMW 335i serviced over here since I had been coming to Dimitri for a long time unfortunately he did not take any responsibility for the work done and kept on arguing. I got over $2,000 worth of repairs done over here (two invoices: 1 was for $1447 and the other was for $727). Most of the things done to clear the CEL were useless things such as changing the battery (charged me $287 for it), changing the sparkplugs which were all in perfect working condition. Just to see if it would "cure" the check engine light. The only thing that needed to be changed were 2 fuel injectors and a steering angle sensor which was diagnosed properly but dimitri did not bother fixing it. One of the fuel injector was replaced but the check engine light was still on and the car ran like garbage. Called the garage dimitri kept ignoring my calls and there was another lady who kept on arguing with me. Extremely rude and unprofessional. Also the valve cover gasket was supposed changed with a newer one and I was charged $741 only to find out that the valve cover gasket is leaking again and I need to replace it again (it was just recently replaced, August 10, 2017 to be exact). I won't even bother calling this place to see if they will rectify this issue because I know they will end up arguing that it was done correctly and not take any responsibility for it. If you have a problem with the repairs done at this place and need to go back my only advice would be good luck because they won't take any responsibility for the work done and you will just end up spending more money later somewhere else to fix their mess. read more

Very happy. They were hostest, fast and did what needed to be done to fix my noisy Honda exhaust. Gasket, nuts, bolts and bit of welding. Done. I'll definately be back for whatever next work I need, big or small.. read more
