Sneaky man that he was though, was trying to find out what my heel grips were for! Next thing I know, he's handing me back my money and getting me to take my boots off in the middle of the shop so he can have a look at what was bothering me. Nope, heel grips weren't the answer... He explained what was causing my discomfort (complete with drawing me a diagram) and suggested putting an insert in to see if that helped. He's given me something temporary so I've to try them out and see if they work and go back to him after a few days then he'll either work out something else for me or take out the temporary ones and fix them permanently into the boots. With my boots back on, I asked how much I owed him - not a thing! Absolutely amazing service. *skips off happily...*

I went for coat hooks only a few days ago to fit to the underside of a bar (isn't it so frustrating when sitting at a bar and there is no where to put your coat except on your lap!?) and I was offered a wealth of coat hooks, some one which looked like they were from another planet! A great little stopping place if your just looking to mend something in your house but they also supply to independent business too; everything from manager sign to ashtrays, washers to door handles, this place has it all.

He just couldn't be bothered. Its usually the customer that is the one that has to be managed over the phone because of their crankiness not the people running the business! I tried to book work but found the guy on the other on the other end of the phone was just plain rude and really unhelpful. Maybe it was too early in the morning, being 8:30ish, probably eh?!! Glasgow is a city full of charmers. I would suggest that if your looking for a handyman a key quality is dealing with people and having a bit of savvy on how treat your potential new customers. We've used these guys a couple of times now - a few years back when *someone* poured something down the kitchen sink which shouldn't go down a sink (it was me). And more recently, when our toilet was flushing intermittently and our hot water tap stopped working. They weren't able to come out for a few days but our problem wasn't urgent so that was fine. They'd said "late morning" but the guy turned up at 9.30am. That was totally fine as I was home and I was glad they were there to get it fixed. He needed to pop back out to get some supplies once he'd looked at the problem, but all up I think it was fixed in less than an hour for £80. I have no idea if that's a good price or not, but the service was good and they solved our problems so I'm not complaining.
