Now, from their account it seems that Florida Home Improvements managed successfully to walk the domestic tightrope of their individual bathroom desires. The mother wanted a wet-room for £3, 000 and was rather upset to find out that it would mean a wall being knocked down and triple her estimation (or thereabouts? Who knows.); meanwhile the father didn't want a new bathroom at all. Somehow, Florida Home Improvements managed to persuade them (and my mother had already won the new bathroom war - to some extent) that a newer, shiner and more stylish - yet relatively modest - bathroom was required. They also managed to save their old tiles (see Bathstore.com review) and reused them around the bath which saved a lot of time, trouble and money. Moreover, the staff were very open and honest in their evaluations and quotations. So much so that no extra charges were encountered - the opposite in fact. Top quality.

We've used these guys a couple of times now - a few years back when *someone* poured something down the kitchen sink which shouldn't go down a sink (it was me). And more recently, when our toilet was flushing intermittently and our hot water tap stopped working. They weren't able to come out for a few days but our problem wasn't urgent so that was fine. They'd said "late morning" but the guy turned up at 9.30am. That was totally fine as I was home and I was glad they were there to get it fixed. He needed to pop back out to get some supplies once he'd looked at the problem, but all up I think it was fixed in less than an hour for £80. I have no idea if that's a good price or not, but the service was good and they solved our problems so I'm not complaining.

The staff are pleasant, chatty and have a great knowledge of their services and products (as you'd expect in this type of business). They also offer free quotes, something which combined with word of mouth, is probably a strong factor in their success. This is a fairly large showroom with a good range of bathroom fittings and fixtures. These are reasonably priced, well displayed and their individual benefits are clearly shown. Additionally, they also do pluming, central heating and emergency call outs. Everything you might - but hopefully won't - need and all for a good price.

It's always a maze and total uncertainty trying to select a builder, every single person is fearful when selecting someone to work on their property, the totally element of the the "unknown". Are they going to be good? reliable, do a good job, absolute stressful situation always, I'm sick of it!
