I LOVE living at Mural. I just moved from Nashville to Seattle, and finding a spot before the cross-country drive was more than a little nerve-wracking. Management took me on a FaceTime tour, and I was immediately enamored with the property. Luckily for me, it's *exactly* what I was looking for! Right in the middle of the Junction, near a ton of shopping, restaurants, and grocery stores. Alison, Fahd, and Mac are all the absolute kindest property team. They're incredibly responsive and always have a solution. They truly care about their residents and go out of their way to make everyone feel welcome and validated. Big fan. I've lived in this building for nearly three years, and unfortunately the experience has gone downhill over time. Early on things felt manageable, but between constant management turnover and growing security issues, it no longer feels reliable or safe. During my time here, my car has been broken into in the garage and when I asked about security footage they told me that unfortunately the cameras weren't actually working at that point in time... In the last few months alone, I've had multiple packages stolen, which is incredibly frustrating when you're paying to live in a secured building. On top of that, communication and access have become a real problem. Recently I lost my keys and could not get in contact with the office for help to replace my access fob. When I finally did reach someone, I called ahead and confirmed I could stop by before they closed at 5 PM. I left work early, arrived at 4:20 PM, and the office was already closed. The phone number has no option for voicemail and they offer no after hours emergency contacts whatsoever. Because of that, I've now gone three days without proper access to my building and garage, which is unacceptable. I appreciate some of the updates the new management team has been trying to make, but at this point, the lack of consistency, security, and communication has made it clear this will be my last year here. I'll be looking for alternative apartment options once my lease is up. read more

Apartment located in a prime location. Close to the junction with many options for food and bus line is right outside by the main entrance. Alki beach is only a short drive away. Building is secure, but if you have an outside unit I would suggest buying a camera for additional security. When you move in be very thorough during inspection. Whatever problems you may have Hassan will help you, with the biggest smile on his face! Took a while to get my mail set up, but Michael was very kind and patient with any issues I came across. Leasing office is hiring more people, so their efficiency has improved exponentially since I moved. There is still room for improvement, but you can tell their main priority is to their tenants. Garage spaces are VERY TIGHT. Some motorcycles take full spots, but security patrols the garage and your car will always be safe. Street parking is available, but be careful not to get a ticket! Building is next to a fire department so you WILL hear sirens every single day, but after an adjustment period, you become used to it that you barely hear it most days. Amazing location, decent place to live! read more

I've lived at Link for nearly 5 years. When I moved in, this place was great. The amenities were nice and the people were pretty low key and the maintenance staff was relatively responsive. The rooftop was great, supplied with grills for sunny days and a gas fire pit for cool evenings. There is also an entertaining space that was perfect for hosting events and had a HUGE TV. Since then, the fire pit has been removed, the TV was replaced with a much smaller one and the grills are really starting to show their wear and I doubt any of this will change anytime soon. As far as the added monthly fees, there are plenty. They've significantly increased the parking garage fees, which they don't track or assign spaces so it's not uncommon for people who are not paying to park in the garage spaces. Which are very narrow so you can expect plenty of door dings. They also added a required 'valet recycling' fee which means that on certain days of the week, there are trash cans outside the doors in the halls waiting to be picked up. Which not only looks bad but in some instances, creates a very unpleasant smell. They did this because they don't have enough dumpsters for the size of this building and they overflow every week. This is horrible during the summer months and the smell of hot garbage can be overwhelming at times so if you're on the east side of the building you can forget about keeping your windows open during the warm summer nights. Management and maintenance have been turned over at least 4 times in the last few years as Greystar has built a number of newer, more modern, and more expensive buildings in very close vicinity to this location and staff has been reassigned to these newer locations. I know this because they send out emails to inform tenants of the turnover. While the staff tends to be nice and professional, it also feels like they are simply going through the motions in many respects. I have no idea what it takes to manage a building of this size but my experience has been fine. It just really feels like this building is being neglected and is now attracting, younger, lower-quality tenants as it is cheaper than the newer buildings and is very pet-friendly. This is all well and good but things have gotten out of control due to the sheer number of terrible pet owners, which are ample, letting their pets relieve themselves literally at the front door or in the stairwells, garage, and alley. It's absolutely ridiculous. I pay just under $2,000 per month, which is a bit below average for this area but it's not worth having to deal with the classless people living here. I'm leaving when my lease is up and honestly, I would NOT recommend this place to anyone looking to rent in the area. There are other better options with as much, if not more, to offer. read more

My partner and I lived here for 3 years and it SUCKS! I am thrilled to be done with this place. It used to be ok, but the last year they've really let this place slip. It looks pretty, but once you move in you realize you've made a mistake. Maintenance is TERRIBLE! We didn't have water in our kitchen for over a week at one point. Our oven was broken for over 3 weeks. Our toilet leaked for a month. They took an obscene amount of time fixing these things (all of which are necessities to have!!) The walls are very very thin, so be prepared for noise. Seriously, don't be fooled by it's pretty exterior and light rooms. read more

Lived at Link Apts for 2 years. Reasons for my rating: 1 - High rent and extraneous fee charging. My rent for an Urban 1-bedroom, which is essentially a 600 sq. ft. studio with a little sliding glass door for the "bedroom", was $1397. With taxes, required fees, and parking, my rent was over $1550 a month. This is just ridiculous for West Seattle, I'm sorry. You can do better elsewhere. (Also, during the re-leasing agreement for year 2, rent went up $180/month. Jesus.) 2 - Parking garage, something you deal with every day, was more than just an annoyance. It has cost me $$ and time. How, you ask? First of all, the spaces are teensy tiny. They squeeze 3 spots into a 2-car space (and I have a small car). Then they are surrounded by concrete columns. In 2 years, I had the following things happen to me: numerous people hit my door with theirs (and honestly I understand, as sometimes it was the only way to exit the car...); driver's side mirror break from a column; 2 dents which I did not witness but happened to my car in this garage; and a close call on 2 accidents which occur when people fly around the levels, as they are so tight. I also posted a picture and complained about a parking space which is placed in the inside turn of the parking garage. Very dangerous, was never addressed. Parking in general was very hard to come by after 6:00pm on weekdays. Forget that night you're out on the town and come back late - it's handicapped parking or nothing. 3 - Unreliable maintenance/service. For the most part, the front desk manager - April - was lovely and helpful. But two experiences ruined this for me: first, I was inside the building/garage, but locked out of the main area to access my apartment after hours. I HAD the electronic key, but it wasn't working. On their website, they say 24/7 assistance... I called the number and the Maintenance guy picked up. Long story short, he said he couldn't come help me until 8am because he lived "a half hour away". I sat in the hallway of Link Apts for hours until someone came to help me. The next day, I sat down with Claudia and complained. She wasn't able to appease my sense of safety - there was no promise or guarantee that he wouldn't do it next time, and there was no offer to make things right (discount on rent, something, anything?). Very disappointing. The other experience is on the move-out: April promised me that "Link Apts doesn't do move-outs, just leave me your key!" and that "If you've had it professionally cleaned recently, we don't charge you." I trusted her. because I had it professionally cleaned as well as personally - and it was spotless. WRONG. Of course I got a huge bill for ridiculous claims. I am uploading my pictures here because I am so upset. I honestly go by the saying, "Leave it better than when you found it", and I tried to do that. To no avail. 4 - Yes, it's dog-friendly, which is great if you have dogs. If you don't? Prepare to hear dogs crying, barking, yapping all the time. 5 - For a place with rent so high, I'd expect the location to be awesome.. near Alki Beach? Or at least a suitable running route? Nope. It's dead in the middle of busy streets, yet not a restaurant within walking distance. Unless you count the bowling alley. 6 - Gym. Don't believe the pretty gym pictures on the website that are all panorama and edited. It's 2 treadmills (usually the one on the left is broken), 2 ellipticals (the one on the right squeaks so bad you can hear it through your headphones) and a huge Bowflex-looking contraption from the '90s. If you come on the weekends, early morning or after work, expect a wait. However, I did appreciate the fact they even had a treadmill and a water station. I honestly regret living there because of how much money I wasted. I think I would've been find with the price if it were truly luxury living, or whatever they're trying to sell. But it wasn't. The ONLY reason I didn't move was because I was just so darn sick of moving at that point. Now? Glad I got outta there. GREAT location in West Seattle. Loved living there next to LA Fitness, Talarico's, and the Sounders bar. If you are a light sleeper, I would suggest making sure you don't live on the fire department side of the building like mine was, but for me personally, I didn't mind since I'm a deeper sleeper. Just be aware of that is all. I never had an issue with moving in or out, and I never needed any maintenance repairs or anything so I can't speak to that. Just a great experience for me overall. Also, I wasn't planning on continuing my lease because I was laid off. Though, it should be noted that the rent was going to be raised 8% if I renewed early, or, 12% increase if I renewed the lease in the final month). So fair warning on that and what to possibly expect. All in all, I honestly couldn't ask for too much more. Had a blast living there! read more

I lived here from 02/19 - 03/2020, on the 4th floor in a west facing apartment. There are definite pros and cons of this apartment complex, and I'll break everything down into a few different categories. The Office staff/Leasing agents and maintenance: The staff at this community was by far my favorite thing about this apartment complex. All the office staff and maintenance people were always helpful. I've had a few minor issues during my year there: a light bulb out, water leaking from the apartment above, broken thermostat; all fixed quickly. A simple phone call and a quick response, especially with the water leak. 5 stars for them. Location (the good and bad) - Living at the junction definitely has its benefits: Trader Joes, LA Fitness, Orange Theory, Whole Foods, the yoga place, and being a few blocks from California Ave. There's definitely a convenience of it; unfortunately, there's a fire department right there too. Throughout the night, you'll hear the sirens of fire trucks, ambulances, and police cars racing by. The windows, which I believe are double pane, keep out most of the street noise, but don't stand a chance against the high frequency sound of the sirens. 4th Floor West Facing Apartment: - The huge downside of that apartment were in the late spring and summer months; the sun beating in, getting over 80 degrees. I installed curtain rods and blackout curtains with uv reflection (costco) in the windows, which helped a bit, but it was still sweltering. I had to buy a portable air-conditioner which saved me. Noise: For 10 of the 13 months I was there, my upstairs neighbors sounded like they stomped, it was incredibly loud. And then there were the fights. The couple was constantly fighting....screaming bloody hell. The police were called. It was horrible. Myself and several neighbors complained multiple times. Management said they could only give a 10 day notice to which they would need to be quite. So they would for 10 days and it would start up again. I found out through a neighbor, that the resident who lived in my apartment before me, moved out because of that..and I was the unlucky next dweller. Well, that couple finally moved out (or got booted). For a few weeks it was quite, but a new person (or couple) moved in, and I heard stomping again. This leads me to believe that it's the floors. Did it sound like I stomped? Were my downstairs neighbors upset with me? Amenities: They have a small gym with free weights, benches, cable cross-over, treadmills, elliptical (I think), and a few other things, which will do in a pinch. The rooftop with BBQ's are really nice, and offer a very beautiful view. They also have gardening space on the roof. There's a rec room with a pool table, sofa and large screen TV, and a conference/study table (which I used often). I wish they had a partition separating the conference/study table, from the billiard table and tv. They just got a package delivery center which is really nice. Parking: They offer their own parking for 150 or 200 a month, but I parked on the street, and never had any issues finding a spot. On the side of the building entrance, the weekday parking is for only 30 minutes (due to a child day care being there), with Saturday parking for 2 hours and Sunday is unlimited. Across the street is 2 hour parking Mon-Sat, with unlimited Sunday. Be careful because the ticket police frequent this block. Parking half a block away, by the fire department, is unlimited because of it being a residential block, unfortunately, there's a new building being constructed, and the construction people take some of those spots, and once that building is done and rented, forget about finding a spot. The other unlimited parking spots are a block and a half away, (across Fauntleroy and near the auto body repair shop), at 38th ave SW and Oregon. Again, once that new residential building is complete, I'm sure on-street parking will be impossible to find. Bus: A block and a half away (on Fauntleroy heading towards Starbucks) is the stop for the 116, which is an express bus to downtown. I would take the 5:45am bus to get to 3rd at James around 6:05, and then take the 3 or 4 up the hill to Harborview Medical Center, where I worked. There's also a stop a 1/2 block away (on Alaska in front of the tire shop) to catch the 55 to downtown, with more frequent buses than the 116 express. Price: After an exhausting search, I settled for one of the more affordable apartments at the junction. BUT, they started a new recycling program which they charge a monthly fee ($20). The hallways are now lined with trash bins for each apt. Looks dirty and cheap. They also charge an annual pet renewal certification. Seems like nickle and diming. Final Thoughts (Jerry Springer style) - I love the people there, but I would not rent there again. Pay a little more (boooo!) and live away from the fire department. Good luck. The maintenance team has done a great job at fixing issues that come up in my unit. Purcell is on the maintenance team and he was able to fix the cabinet door in my bathroom. He replaced the old screws in the cabinet door with longer and new screws so that the cabinet door should not come off or get loose. Purcell and others on the maintenance team have been quick to resolve other minor maintenance issues, like my kitchen sink leaking or my bathtub drain being clogged. Living here has been a great experience! read more

The latest phone call they promised to call me back and at least update me. Guess who hasn't received a phone call? I love living here. I'm not sure why others say it's loud all day. I can't hear any of my neighbors. It doesn't smell like dog either, but is very dog friendly! They keep the halls and amenity areas insanely clean. I love the 24hr gym. The rooftop is SO great. You can see the whole city from up there, use the grills to show off your chef skills, reserve the lounge to have guests over :) Management is amazing. Mike, Lindsey, Jose... the whole staff is so friendly and welcoming! It's close to the signature LA Fitness. Trader Joes is literally across the street for your grocery needs. There's a 24 hr Safeway for late night munchies. The Alaska Junction nearby is a great food and bar area. This is honestly one of the best areas I've lived in. Seattle is a pricey area to live in. If that is your complaint about Link Apartments, move to Yakima. read more

If you don't mind paying $2k/mo (2bd) and not being able to sleep then link is the place for you! Moving into this Appartment building was a terrible mistake!!!! It's loud ALL DAY I was on the 5th floor and let me tell you when I toured they said it gets a little loud in the summer months because the roof top deck is very popular, well that was an understatement! People are up there every day all day!! parties that go past 4:00am??? WTF?!?! I complained several times to all four different people working in the office there was never anything done! The smell of dog pee is more than common when you walk the halls. I don't have a dog so this made my experience even worse here. My advice to anyone reading this is make sure you look at other locations before you sign a lease here! Parking sucks it's loud and its stinks of dog everywhere in the building. The whole year I was here I probably was able to get a good night sleep 3 out of the 12 months!!! I am very disappointed at this place I will never rent here again. I have lived here for almost three years. My unit is an urban one bedroom and I face West. I love it. When I first moved in, I was worried about renting again. Riverstone manages this building and they do it right. This is a big building and they keep up. These are the things I look for living here: Cleanliness: Very. The garbage area in the garage is well maintained and picked up regularly. Our trash chutes are maintained as well. Windows are cleaned on a regular basis and I get to enjoy my view. Our building is a secure building and so far no issues. Noise? Not much. I was really worried about that and I just don't hear my neighbors! Thank goodness. I think what I love the most is that the staff is really nice. If I need anything, they're there for me. I travel extensively and I appreciate it when they can help from a distance. Iam not happy with overall maintenance situation at LINK apartments. 1. Waste smell all around the underground parking, very nasty smell. Plus, constantly smth leaking in a garage. 2. Trash chute is every 2-3 days stacked so if you walked with the garbage bags you can't throw them. It happens every 2-3 days during the week. Why the maintenance can't they fix that?? I live for a few months and this has been started since day one! Its really annoying. what the maintenance are doing there?? 3. Every night the waterfall from the roof. Whats up with that??? creates extra noise at night and again, overall gets your windows and creates mess on the ground. 4. This is it! In my opinion, Link is the building by which all should be modeled. The building is great! Only a few years old, in great condition, excellently maintained, with lovely amenities. The penthouse lounge is great for throwing parties. The rooftop has pea patches, numerous BBQ's, a fire pit, and a gorgeous downtown view. 24 hour gym with space for yoga. Free loaner bike and kayak. What really puts this over the top and into five stars is the staff. The property manager, Claudia, is one of the kindest and most caring people I've ever met and she keeps great people with her. From the office to maintenance, everyone here is friendly, helpful, and efficient. My 2 year old calls them "Friends!", knows them by name and still asks to go visiting. All puppies & rainbows aside, there are always some things that even a 5 star is lacking. And here are mine: ~ Most importantly, the building alarm. In two years it went off 4 or 5 times. No fires thankfully, but the alarm is something dreadful. It really kicks in your flight instinct. In fact, it left my toddler rather traumatized. We've been working on calming her reaction to loud sounds after the last two times. Take me seriously here, if you have a heart condition STAY AWAY!!! This alarm could kill my mother, no joking. ~ I hate the washer/dryer. I was always banging my elbow on the washer or my head on the dryer door (which would swing shut as I reached for clothes). And it's teeny tiny. Give me a front loader any day. ~ Parking is abysmal! The building has limited parking in the garage and many choose street parking. Then to make things worse the city took the majority of parking away. First to bus lanes, second (for day time parkers) to two-hour zones. You can find parking, but sometimes it takes 5+ minutes, a few spins 'round the block, and at worst it'll be a few blocks away. ~ West facing units get HOT in summer and there is very little air flow with no cross ventilation. Buy an A/C and fans! Now for some sprinkles... This place is soooo walkable! Grocery stores, shopping, food, parks and playgrounds. Easy bus, car, and bike commuting. Large dog friendly (though breed prejudice, as they all are) with a reasonable pet deposit. Trash chute with recycle and compost in the garage, free bike locker (though small & frequently full - also in the garage). I can't tell you how badly I wish our new "luxury" apartment was even half as nice as Link or the staff as amazing! We shall miss you! read more

Used to be such a nice and well managed building, then sold, and now managed by Riverstone Residential. Since this management company took over the building is filthy, the garbage is left to pile up for days, the office suddenly closes with no warning and does not keep their posted hours. Reports of tenants being told their lease terms have been changed with no required notice given, etc... AVOID this very poorly managed building! What a disappointment! Brand new building should be a great place to live, but Link is NOT! Poor management, not a safe building with stolen items, amenities advertised are not available like no where to park your bike as all slots are full. You have to pay for parking otherwise you're not going to find a street spot to park in this neighborhood. The top floor party room area is always occupied by loud drinkers who also smoke in this no smoking building. There's supposed to be a garden, but there's a big sign that says don't touch the garden if you are a resident! WHAT?? Rent is high, apartments are TINY and it is loud with traffic zooming by almost all of the time day and night. My first time renting in Seattle, but I could have done much better and should have! I was really excited after seeing the pictures online to check the LINK out. At first it seemed alright. I looked at a couple of different apartments and they were really nice. Then I met the manager and immediatly my mind changed. There was a resident in the office trying to talk to her and I saw the way she treated them. Ive lived in places like this before and there is no way I would do that again. Hope my experience helps. I realize most people wont have the benifit of seeing this there on their first visit. This lady is absolutely crazy and disrespectful. Happy House hunitng and have a wonderful day. I used to live in the link before the new management took over... By the way there were several more reviews on here a month ago (and they werent positive)... check it out for yourself all of this posts are recent... Riverstone who owns the LINK was able to get YELP to remove the posts... The new management is horrible... You may not see it at first but go ahead and move in and find out for yourself... I am so glad to be out of that place... The old management was awesome, before Riverstone purchased the LINK and a whole new crew came in.... I new some of the old management (since they are in the industry) they basically told me that the Riverstone was an awful place to work for and none of them would stay... And as soon as the new management came in I had the pleasure of seeing that for myself... DO YOURSELF A FAVOR GO LOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE!! This week I helped my daughter escape the LINK apartment jail. She called me in tears after being mis treated by the apartment manager. I was reading through all the posts its so hard to believe what is going on there. The building is secure and we have always felt very safe here. It is also quiet and we never can hear our neighbors. Pet friendly too. Has all the amenities you could ever need. A great apartment building! The front desk staff is great. They're available for lengthy hours during the day, keep the building secure, and offer a smile every day. Finally, the building is loaded with great features. The rooftop balcony is great for barbeques and lounging, the gym kept me running and the free loaner bikes were absolutely great! It's a new building, and my apartment had only 1 issue with a faucet leaking while I was there. Management responded immediately, having the issue fixed within 24 hours of reporting it. I lived here for one year, and unfortunately had to leave when my job changed location, but I'm missing it! read more

My husband and I lived at Link Apartments for over two years and only moved out when we bought a condo. The location is great, the building is well kept up, and the staff is always prompt and friendly! We really liked that the walls were thick because our dog can get a little barky sometimes. The balcony is a real treat during 4th of July and New Years celebrations! You can see fireworks in Downtown Seattle and all the way to Bellevue. read more

We have lived at the Link for six months and have found it to meet all of our requirements for accomodations. Adjusting to the big city's small living space for high rental costs was difficult at first since we had an abundance of space in the previous house we lived in Medford, Oregon. We have found that the layout (Urban) at the Link gives us the best possible use of small living quarters. Essnetially, we have adopted a minimalist attitude and that is a good change. We have been thrilled that the Link is within easy commutiing distance to downtown, and all other areas wished to be explored. Plus, there is a bus stop out front that provdes a ten minute ride to downtown. Great way to enjoy downtown with no hassle of parking. California Ave shops, pubs, and restaurants are an wasy walk and gorcery stores are also conveniently close. I have felt and become healthier by walking more and not relying on the car for short drives. Building always feels secure and the parking facilites, though tight, at lease provide some security for your vehicle agains the elements, theft, and vandalism. Staff has always been friendly and attentive to all our needs and resolving the small issues that have come up. Plus, when we have needed a repair, they are done promptly and resolved the problem. April, the leasing agent and Claudia the office manager have provided exceptional professionalism and we can highly recommend the Link as a place to live in West Seattle. read more

The only change to my previous posting is that the garage parking has been resolved and it is much easier to find a spot now - on any given day there are more than ten available spots. The office staff, however, has extremely high turnover and because of this, the service suffers. They were always friendly, but many times unhelpful. If you don't mind thin walls (and ceilings) and less-than-exemplary staff, you'll like it here. read more

My husband and I have lived here for nearly 3 years. One of my friends in the building summed it up perfectly: "It photographs well." They WILL raise the rent $200 every year, and if you want to go month to month, be prepared to pay $600 more per month. The apartments on the west side and all of the apartments with windows that do not open wide are extremely hot. We lived in a 3rd floor east facing apartment for the first year and ran fans in the winter. The rooftop lounge is lovely, but no dogs allowed. That does not seem to deter many residents, who don't bother to clean up the dog poop. No smoking, either, yet the deck is littered with cigarette butts every morning. This is a no smoking building, but look no further than the other reviews stating that people are always hanging out in front smoking. Management has absolutely no interest in enforcing the policy. I have repeatedly sent them photographs of people smoking in off limits areas. They apologize and send an email that says "LINK is a no-smoking community." One time a lit cigarette was thrown off the roof or from an apartment onto the baby playground of the daycare center. You can bet that the email sent that time was very sternly worded indeed. The building owners refuse to install security cameras, despite multiple break-ins. DO NOT leave your bike in the bike locker! The last time I went down, the combination to get in was written on a sticky note laying on the floor just inside, in plain view. Amazing place to live in. Great and convenient location. With a Trader Joes, QFC and Saveway less than 5 minutes away, walking. The administrative and maintenance staff are always willing to help. Common areas are very cool: rooftop with chimney, pool table and outdoor terrace with grills and even your own space so you can grow vegetables! The gym and the yoga studio downstairs makes it easier to work out no matter the working schedule. LOVED IT! read more

My wife an I lived here for a year after moving cross-country. We had toured the building 6 months prior during a visit to Seattle (under different management) - the building was well kept and no expense was spared to make this building stand out. Fast forward to our residency. I waited until a few months after our move-out, so that I'd have an unbiased opinion. Here's the lowdown, with details below: PLUSES: Location, Fixtures, Maintenance Man, Electric Bills MINUSES: Location (Fire/EMS), Management, Deposits, Rent Cost, Parking, Construction, Lighting, Temperatures in Summer, Access to Amenities, View, Noise THE SHORT: Poor management has crippled what could be a great, trendy place to live. LINK seems more about profit margin than resident satisfaction. SPACE / PRICE: Around $2.50 per square foot at the time of this review. Lighting is a problem if you are in the bedroom or living room - you'll need lamps. TEMPERATURE in the summer is unbearable. We used an Air Conditioner running 24/7 exhausting through a custom window insert that allowed no draft, and it could barely keep the apartment below 80. LOCATION: Convenient access to QFC, Safeway, and Trader Joe's. Urgent Care doctor right next door. RapidRide C bus stop just outside the building. 3 blocks from the West Seattle Junction, and all its wonderful restaurants. Those looking for a view should look elsewhere. Construction on several new apartments in the area has blocked the view from all but the rooftop deck - the view from the deck is wonderful (see below). NOISE: The Fire / EMS station next door is very loud, and trucks always go directly in front of the building with sirens blazing at all hours of the night. FIXTURES: This is one area these apartments shine in. Appliances are mid-grade, all stainless Amana. Range is a flat top, oven has a covered element. Washer / Dryer are the standard stack you find in most apartments of this level. Fixtures are mid-grade Home Depot - not cheap feeling at all. Granite countertops, wood laminate flooring. The carpeting is low pile and needed to be cleaned frequently. UTILITIES: Hot Water is "limitless" from a central boiler. Water / Sewer / Garbage are billed by usage via a third party - typically around $75 for two people. Electric is $20 a month or less. AMENITIES: Kayak Rental, Bike Storage, 24 Hour Gym, Rooftop Deck, BBQ Grills, Fire Pit, Gardening. Gym Equipment is average - 2 treads, 2 steps, one bike, weights. After the TV was stolen out of the Resident Lounge (bolted to the wall) Management's response was to hire security: guard comes in at 10 PM, locks all doors to the lounge and Rooftop Deck, and leaves. Residents are not allowed access from 10P - 10A. We still used the rooftop via stairwells. Limited access to amenities at this price point is outrageous! No security or cameras in building. Gas Grill igniters went out of order, and were "repaired" with 3 long lighters that can be borrowed from the office - the grills are no longer cleaned periodically, as they were when we first moved in. PETS: Lots of them here. Accidents left by irresponsible neighbors were minimal. Pet rent $25 - there are no pet amenities. MAINTENANCE: Ray is awesome, and cares about the building and residents. Unfortunately, from the time we moved in to the time we left, we noticed a steady decline in the upkeep of the building - management trying to save a buck. Only one cleaning person (there used to be 3) - our hallway used to be vacuumed twice a week and shampooed monthly, and the building SHINED...that all stopped around December. PARKING: By far the SECOND worst part of our experience. Oversold garage, small spaces - you do the math. Coming home after 8PM jeopardizes your ability to find parking during the week. Poor parking is NOT ticketed. Street parking has all been marked 2 hour - a hill about a block away is residential, but finding a spot is difficult. MANAGEMENT: Here's what dragged this building to its knees. Claudia - Manager; Kyle - Assistant Manager. I have seen Claudia outside of her office twice in the 8 months she and I were in the same building. Kyle is very friendly, but is a typical salesman - he is more focused on potential renters than current tenants. Complaints are met with a smile, noted, and then typically nothing is done (PARKING). A Facebook-style message board allows residents to talk. Complaints on it were rudely countered by staff, and office mandates addressing problems seemed rude and unprofessional. Do not compare pre 2011 reviews with current - different management. Resident events stopped on Claudia's arrival. DEPOSITS: good move-in specials, so these are low. Was charged $75 for carpet cleaning (on 200 sqft of carpet). Left that place clean enough to eat from - and took pics to prove it. I would advise you to do the same. Management REFUSED a walk-through inspection with us, even with a week of open availability before move-out. read more

The building is really nice, clean and the roof top deck is amazing. When I first moved in, the management team was amazing. There were lots of community events, pot lucks and we really had the chance to meet with neighbors and get to know the management team. My only complaint was that the parking garage is unassigned and there are many, many large F250's that take up two spots. Harbor Properties sold to Riverstone Properties and a new management team was brought in. Since their arrival, there really wasn't much in the way of community events, and their focus was on new residents. The team didn't seem to enforce the 20 foot no smoking rule in front of the doorways and I was constantly smelling smoke in my apartment. They offer great deals to the new residents but not to existing residents when their lease term is up. My option was to sign another lease and get to pay what the normal rate of the place was when I move in, or go month to month and have to pay an additional $150 per month to live there. The cost isn't the issue, rather the fact that the new management team doesn't provide the community feel that first attracted me to the place and I didn't want to live in a unit that constantly smelled of smoke if I opened the windows for fresh air or to cool things down. I think if the new management team starts treating Link like the upper end apartment bldg it is instead of like all it's other mid level bldgs, it will be a better place to stay and the tenants will stay longer, regardless of the costs. People will pay more for the amenities and the community feel if the management team is good. read more

First, the building managers are really cool. I mentioned that I liked corgi's and she said, "Oh, there's 6 corgis in building" and was able to name 5 of them. The only reason she wasn't able to name the 6th was because its owners had "just moved in." Anybody who takes the time, and has the ability, to remember the names of the tenant's dogs is (in my humble opinion) the exact type of person who I want responding to any problems that could arise in the apartment. Second, as the review below states, the tenants I met on my tour were really nice! I met 5 different tenants during my tour, and they were friendly, kind, and were really welcoming. I'm the type of person who grew up in a neighborhood that had "block parties" and the apartment building really has that idea in mind. To conclude, I don't think I could honestly say that I have been excited about moving into a new apartment, until I put down my deposit for Link! They do charge for parking, but that's not a big deal since there's a lot of free parking in the area. I HIGHLY recommend taking a tour., and seeing if it's the right place for you. (Update) I just signed the lease that was 35 pages long. I was not expecting such a detailed lease, but that seems to be my standard experience with larger apartment buildings. I recommend that everybody read EVERY word of EVERY page of the lease. I found some mistakes in mine, but I called about it and they were corrected. Also, my lease requires that I provide renter's insurance, which was not disclosed to me prior to putting down my deposit., but since a typical renter's insurance policy is only $80 for the year, that's not a deal breaker for me. read more

Okay... marking these guys back down to 1 star. About 3 months after moving out of this building I got a $350 Seattle City Light bill. The leasing office staff were unable to explain this so I called City Light. The bill was tied to the Link apartment address but they could find no record of who created the account. I went ahead and paid it to spare me any more phone calls about it, but after everything that happened, this was just the last straw. I would avoid any building that is managed by Riverstone Residential. Very overpriced, tiny units and low quality buildings disguised by chic decor. read more

Good! -Nice building, safe and clean with nice neighbors. Has good amenities: small gym, bike/kayak rentals, grills, gardens and private rentable room on rooftop. There is also an attached Chaco Canyon which I believe offers discounts for residents and super good food/drink. -In-building office that is open daily and are very helpful! The office team has changed since I moved in, but I would say for the better. The new manager is way nicer too. They also set up little parties for the whole building every once in a while, which is nice if you're looking to meet people. -Neighbors are all nice, a lot of people hang out in front smoking and drinking wine with their dogs and chit chat. -Great location, right across the street from Trader Joe's and only a couple blocks to the Junction! Bad! -The noise! I lived in an outside unit, so if you were inside the building it is probably a lot quieter. There is a pre-school next door and while cute, they can get pretty loud. There is also a fire dept. across the street, so sirens go off through the day. Garden maintenance comes by weekly at 8am and are really loud if you're in an outside unit, they have blown mud on my window and stuck the leaf blower right at my door. They have also filled my apartment with gasoline smells - not pleasant. -Parking can be a pain, I never rented a spot in the garage (about $100 a month, which seems steep to me, especially when it seems to be the cause of dents and scratches). I've never had to go more than a couple blocks, but you occasionally have to squeeze into a spot and deal with passive aggressive parents (from the daycare) since they seem to think they are more entitled to a spot. -Expensive! Considering the price range for the rest of West Seattle, Link is pitching a high price. You do pay more for those amenities! I rented an 'urban 1 bedroom', which is essentially a studio, but has a demi-wall and sliding glass doors, and lucked out with a discounted rent ($1200), but it is normally about $1400/month, which seems pretty excessive. Overall, if you can afford the high rent it is a nice place to live! read more

Used to be such a nice and well managed building, then sold, and now managed by Riverstone Residential. Since this management company took over the building is filthy, the garbage is left to pile up for days, the office suddenly closes with no warning and does not keep their posted hours. Reports of tenants being told their lease terms have been changed with no required notice given, etc... AVOID this very poorly managed building! read more
