JoyHouse coffee, belonging to Evangel Church in Bismarck. This is a big church with constant movement, but it's really such an enjoyable spot to hang out and get work done. The best thing about JoyHouse is that they have crepes!!! Crepes are something I absolutely cannot resist, and I was so excited to see they make them here. Also, I sat in the shop so long that the adorable girl working offered me a free tea! It was so nice and I would for sure come back here again. JoyHouse is rightly named!

The vibe is super fun and reminds me a lot of Central Perk from Friends. Tables and couches arranged in cozy conversational corners. We ended up staying because we liked the ambience. We each had a gelato with a topping that came in around $15 including tip. I had salted caramel and my guest had the butter brickle. Both were very tasty and we would likely come back to try some other flavors or just enjoy the vibe with some coffee. The staff was both friendly and helpful and offered samples of the gelato to help us decide.

My next treat from this store will be the chocolate covered espresso beans. They also make gift baskets and have a verity of old school candies. I am a huge fan of supporting local businesses. I go grocery there shopping every week and this is my favorite stop. The people working there are a huge help and super nice. They have new stuff frequently that I can't resist trying. Their fresh produce is AWESOME! I am fairly new to North Dakota and previously I had to drive 300 miles or mail-order ingredients. Asian Gourmet had everything I want. I think about leaving ND every so often, but I have to factor in, "does the new location have anything near as cool as the Asian Gourmet?"

If you know downtown Bismarck at all, you know parking can really suck, yet the owner posted an 8 1/2 x 11 sign on the door, so one has to walk up to read it, meaning parking someplace like one one of the ramps that cost money.
