My husband and I moved to Cary from south Florida last year. We rented a house, intending to stay…read morethere while we scoped out the area - but then this fantastic townhouse came on the market and we had to buy it. Next question: What to put in it? It's much bigger than our rental house - and much nicer. That said, we didn't want to spend crazy money on new furniture (we've made that mistake before) - but on the other hand, we wanted nice stuff (i.e., not Rooms to Go). We recognize our limitations, so I searched for someone who could help us with our new home - and luckily enough found Amy. She first went to our rental house (where we were still living) to see what we already had, get an idea of our colors, artwork, etc., then went to our new (empty) home. We were, frankly, amazed at some of her suggestions - amazed just because they *never* would have occurred to us. As soon as she saw our (very large) master BR suite, she noted that there was ample space to fit our existing living room furniture. She also suggested that we have the mantle in the living room (which was crazy high) lowered. ??!! We did not know such a thing was even possible. Amy had great recommendations for - and accompanied us on - furniture shopping trips (can't say enough about Cooper's - must get to their review next). She was also great for the little stuff - positioning furniture, helping organize the kitchen, etc. We could not have had a better experience and would not hesitate to seek her advice again.

When I reached out to Amy and told her what I needed, she made it happen! Finding pieces in one room that would be better in another; creating flow where corners or awkwardness had previously interrupted it; and most importantly, making this brand new space feel like our home. Working with Amy is quite a treat! She's professional, detail oriented, and has resources for whatever a home and family might need! Having an understanding of different perspectives in decor is a HUGE plus, too, as a simple mention of feng shui (which I know nearly nothing about) opened up a whole new conversation about placement of plants and honorary placement of our dearly departed pets! She has amazing energy, practical sensibilities, and a keen understanding of family functioning so she can help turn a house into a home. BIG SIGH! I adore my home now!

Stacey Martin is tenacious, charming and kind…read more We recently engaged her to make custom drapes for our 18 foot windows. Sure, they seemed like a good idea when we bought the place, but that was also before I went to Forsyth Fabrics (as well as on-line shops) to get a quote for making window coverings for that amount of glass. I nearly cried. Enter Stacey. A friend of mine saw a write up about her business on Daily Candy and forwarded me the information - cannot thank that friend enough. After exchanging a few emails (with pictures and fabric names I'd already selected) Stacey came out, talked about my project and brought hope back to my life. Not only is she a specialist in windows of this size (can't say the same for anyone else in town) but she had wonderful ideas and an amazingly calm demeanor. I couldn't wait to work with her, and I'm so glad I did! We took delivery of our first set of curtains/draperies today and they look amazing. Amazing. She had the foresight to suggest two feet of matching canvas on the bottom hem to protect the investment from the kitties who rule our home. Who else could you say that about? Did I mention she came in at less than half the price of previous quotes with like - quadruple the value? That she's cute as a button and sweet to-boot? That when I'd selected a crappy fabric that was the lovechild of a pair of nylons and a potato sack that she went all Tim Gunn on it's fabric derriere? In short, she's amazing, and if you need oversized window coverings, you'd be a damn fool not to contact her.

Her knowledge helps to position them for receiving top dollar while listing while delivering her message in a kind and authentic way. I have also had the pleasure of taking a continuing education course recently with Bobbie to help better myself in my real estate career. She brings the same professionalism and her sense of humor with her as an instructor. She is a wealth of knowledge and openly shares her experiences and humor to make the information useful and understandable. The format of the class was interactive, which I appreciate as a person that likes to be on the go and not in a classroom. We definitely choose the right realtor! From our first meeting to our closing (and beyond) Krista was on top of everything. She really knew her stuff and honestly worked her hardest for us. She was very personable as well as professional. We felt well taken care of as she took care of all the details and double and tripled checked everything from any house aspects to all the paperwork. Also, her communication was exceptional with her responsiveness and accuracy. We were so pleased with Krista every step of the way that we would call on her for all our future home buying or selling needs.

Our experience with Abshure Realty Group was one of the most disheartening and unjust situations my…read morefamily has ever faced. RACISM, RETALIATION, DISRESPECT, AND UNPROFESSIONALISM Despite paying over $22,000 a year ($2,000/month) to live in their property, we were forced to endure 144 days--including an entire summer--without a functioning HVAC system. The conditions were unbearable and absolutely uninhabitable. I reached out multiple times asking for repairs, but they took minimum to no accountability; only providing a portable unit in a small bedroom which didn't cool the entire home to sending a technician out to repeatedly applying a ban-aid. The Abshure Realty Group had prior knowledge of the broken HVAC and instead of immediately replacing it they put us thru the ringer... Eventually, I filed a lawsuit to seek justice for the hardship we endured--and that's when things got worse. Instead of taking responsibility, The Abshure Realty Group retaliated against us. I made several good faith offers to work things out, even stating I'd be willing to drop the lawsuit if they just resolved the issue fairly. They refused. They used the fact that we withheld just one month of rent--which we believed was justified due to the unlivable conditions--as grounds to file a wrongful eviction against us. At the time I wasn't aware of NC's law stating that tenants cannot withhold rent, which is biased and allows landlords to take advantage of tenants and still get paid.. After paying rent to the courts for months, I eventually even offered to pay the one month's rent to settle the account but asked to have the eviction dropped, again they refused...and kept the case going.... In addition to that, we were charged multiple late fees during our tenancy, many of which were unfair or occurred during times when they were clearly in the wrong. After we vacated the property last month in May, they even charged us rent for June's rent, which was completely unjustified... we weren't even in the property in June. We moved prior to the Sheriff's coming and I guess that made them mad that they couldn't capitalize off our personal belongings. To make matters worse, I received a RACIST text message (attached) from KRISTA ABSHURE herself--sent to me by mistake. That message spoke volumes about how they truly viewed us as tenants and explained why they didn't want to settle... she didn't want us there! She didn't know that her minority employee David Michael had approved a "Black family". This was offensive, dehumanizing, and heartbreaking. But I'm sure she will have David deny it all in their reply. Our family was treated with complete disregard and disrespect! After a year of paying rent faithfully and trying to resolve things peacefully, we were met with retaliation, racism, and a retaliatory eviction . Did we have late payments? Yes... did we pay the late fees? yes... When we moved into the property we had just relocated to Raleigh and had some issues adjusting, but everything was communicated to Krista and her staff when I knew rent would be late... She and her staff could care less but they took our money and made multiple threats of eviction from day one! This company isn't a fair company and has no remorse for real-life situations... obviously .... they cared less that we sat in the heat... I'm writing this review so others can be aware and think twice before trusting Abshure Realty Group with their housing needs. What happened to us should not happen to any family. I will update this review as this court case continues and we seek JUSTICE!
