I came in to get some lip balm due to suffering from chapped lips, I was able to find what I was looking for, and the staff seemed friendly with fast service at the checkouts, and help to find the product I was looking for. (Impressive as the checkout area was only small, given the size of the store and the fact there are no self-service checkouts) As a small store, the selection is limited but is decently stocked given their size. Due to the size of the store, the facilities are limited compared to what one would expect from Boots, and offers the bare minimum, while also shutting earlier than other nearby locations, at 6 pm. 3* - OK, good location but much better pharmacies nearby from Boots and rival brands.

The smoothies that are £2.50 on their own are included in the £3.29 meal deal and there are stickers on the sandwiches getting 29p off your next meal deal making it better value than ever. My current favourite sandwich is in their limited edition Christmas shapers range and it is Wensleydale cream cheese with chutney on cranberry bread, delicious! The staff in this shop are really helpful and smiley. I have ordered christmas items in store and you can collect them the following day, it is a good service.

The people who work there are the nicest pharmacists I've ever met. Back in my universitary photojournalist days I once had to procure a needle for the purposes of an article of drug use in Edinburgh, and though they couldn't specifically give me what I needed, they both informed me of where the Needle Exchange was and weren't at all perturbed by my request. Which is always quite comforting. Only downside here is that, yes, it is quite expensive. For all the girls out there: 1) don't get yourself into this situation, 2) they now give out free morning after pills if you're registered with a local GP. And that's all, folks.

The staff here do know what they are talking about and you just need to go in and tell them what the problem is and they will recommend what will help the most. With this they are more often than not spot on and anything they give you seems to do the trick. Any visit here is also relatively inexpensive as they will always let you make the choice between the large brand or unbranded and cheaper medicines explaining the differences and letting you decide what you want to buy. With a pharmacy this good, unless you are seriously ill, you hardly need a GP.

The pharmacy is at the back of the shop with very helpful and pleasant chemists, and the stock is most of what you'd expect from Boots. Cashier staff are friendly and service is quick. The make up selection is more limited and there are no posh brands. You'll also (randomly) find umbrellas, magazines and jewellery in here! What's best about this store is its location. It's right next to all the main bus stops at Shandwick Place, so a quick dive in for toothpaste, sun screen or moisturiser is easy done.

They cover all the basic pharmacy items and, although not overwhelmingly friendly, we're courteous enough. Because of the Royal Mile location and because I would think they are an independent pharmacy, their prices were quite a bit higher than the Boots around the corner. Their package of 16 paracetamol was £0.55 here, whereas Boots' were only £0.16. That said, it is convenient and handy if you need to stop in here, and it didn't seem unsafe at all to me despite what the other reviewer said.

I've worked on The Royal Mile for about six or seven weeks now, and have already seen two rather sizeable, drink and drug fuelled brawls outside. It really is quite astounding that the powers that be send the junkies here, to the city's main tourist thoroughfare, for their pick-me-up. Given that heroin addicts aren't known for their early morning "rise and shine" attitudes, as long as you get here before 1pm you'll be alright, and will find a quite lovely little outlet for all your pharmaceutical needs.

Their prices compare very favourably to the supermarkets, and are certainly lower than I found when I was in Sainsbury's the other day. Apart from the toiletries, you'll find everything a pharmacy should offer, with prescription and over-the-counter medicines available. They also offer some consultation services, including a stop smoking service. A small pharmacy that offers a lot to the local community.

There's also not a huge range when it comes to newer big name brands, you'll get your Nivea and Clearasil but don't expect any of the newer brands that can be found in the bigger shops.
