I'd been past it a couple of times, but never got the chance to visit it, that is until recently. Well, the pub did turn out to be pretty nice, and while the front is mainly a restaurant, they do have a sports bar out the back which isn't bad at all. Not only do they have a nice beer garden, but they also have a couple of nice beers on tap as well.

We visited the Mornington Peninsula on an overcast Melbourne day. The moment we walked inside Polperro winery, we were greeted by a retro inspired lounge with funky furniture and ambient lighting radiating from legit candlesticks. SWOON. I am not sure what else Polperro could offer to make it more appealing. It boasts a new cellar, villas for overnight guests and a cracking bistro with outstanding food. The only complaint was that the gnocchi wasn't great, and quite pricey. I can't wait to go back, the setting in particular makes for a great day out. It was a special day to remember.

A local tour bus driver recommended Polperro as THE place to eat on the Peninsula. He's not far off, although there is a lot of worthy competition. Polperro is situated in a very picturesque part of Red Hill. As with many of the winery restaurants in that area, it has magnificent views, which were sadly spoiled by the terrible weather that enveloped the area on the day we visited. No matter. We were warmly welcomed and seated at a very comfortable table. Polperro offers a degustation menu only, which you can match with wines. I'd recommend that you do so, if only because it means you will get dinner and show with one of the most entertaining sommeliers you will ever have the pleasure to meet. Polperro is not cheap, but you get what you pay for. The food and wine match is perfect. Serves are generous. Trust me, you are sated at the end of lunch here (and I believe that Polperro is open only for lunch). I cannot speak highly enough of the quality of the food. It is prepared with impeccable technique in all areas of flavour and presentation. Not one dish disappointed. This is right up there with the very best the Peninsula has to offer. As I said, it's not cheap, but it offers good value for what you get. If you want a special occasion lunch, this is the place.

Right on the Esplanade so the beach and ocean views are across the street! Comfortable bed and standard hotel amenities are included with housekeeping. There is a self service laundry in the covered car park and outside parking as well as secured under apartments parking. Front desk is wonderful and staffed between 8am-9pm and knowledgeable about the area. Very helpful. Also prime location with the Main Street A420 just a block away with all the shops and lots of restaurants to choose from. This is my place to go and I've been coming here once a year for 5 years now. Can't say enough good things about them. Till next year!

Yes please…read more This beautiful resort is set in Fingal, not too far away from the Peninsula Hot Springs and consists of multiple buildings that create the most relaxing atmosphere you ever could ask for. The view from the balconies is absolutely gorgeous with some rooms overlooking a golf course that sees the sunset in all it's glory. There's a golfing pro-shop located in the main reception building where you can rent golf carts, clubs, an instructor, and buy whatever golfing equipment your heart desires. Not interested in golfing? There's a beautiful path you can follow to walk through the golf course as well as an Endota Spa located on the premises. There's also a lovely bar and a restaurant with amazing food located in the main reception as well. The rooms are the bare essentials with a split system heater located on the wall, a beautiful patio to be able to watch the golf course with a nice metal bench and table to place a glass of bubbly or your beer to relax with. The bathroom area is a bit low on light when it's dark outside so they could use improvement on that, I do need light to apply makeup! The smoke detector is right directly above the bed which makes it a bit annoying when you're trying to sleep with the red light on a constant another light blinking off and on, but all in all, the resort is amazing. I forgot to mention, the staff is AMAZING! Even after we checked out they went to their fullest possible extent to ensure we were taken care of. Some of the stuff aren't the sharpest tools in the shed but I suppose you need a bit of everything to make a business work! If you're in the area and need a place to stay, this resort is ghighly recommended.

The set out and decor is not unpleasant but it does feel a bit dated. I had the feeling it should be doing better business here than it was. I liked the look of the bistro and propped there. I was going to order the Mussels Delmar - I love my mussels - but then saw the bouillabaisse listed as a special. Going by the board the dish promised all sorts of extra seafood for an extra $5. I got brave and ordered it. Knock me down if the dish wasn't really really good. We might be looking here at a chef who's a bit bored with pub bistro staples and wants to stretch a bit to the classics. I've had bouillabaisse in numerous places around the globe including in the country of origin and I'd have to say this one was in the top half maybe even the top third. The flavours were lovely and it was evident the dish had been prepared and cooked with some care. Importantly, the promise about the abundance of seafood was very real. The dish absolutely abounded with fish, prawns, mussels and other goodies and was good value for the price. It's a generous dish without doubt and it's well worth seeking out. I was very glad I ordered it. This is not a high brow place but who cares. If the key test is good food, I certainly got that tonight. The place itself is fine as is the service. I wouldn't hesitate to eat here again going on this experience.

We even got a free upgrade - bonus! The staff were friendly and helpful. The room had everything expected and it was clean and in good condition. The location is just off the Rye main shops and the super market is about a kilometer away. Rye beach and the pier are on the other side of the highway (a few hundred metres). The best feature had to be the outdoor heated pool and spa. It was warm enough to go straight in - even on a mild spring day. Something to watch finding it is that Napier street is closed at the Nepean Highway end (so there is no through traffic, which keeps the noise down). But if you don't know this you could drive passed it several times - like we did. You have to come in via Nelson st.
