I took the Brussels bus tour with my family and was not particularly pleased. First, we expected a little more historical information on the city of Brussels itself, but the information portion of the tour felt extremely limited. The value prop is limited, as you get to the city at around noon, walk to the main town square and then are shuffled to a tourist trap (I think) restaurant. The bus leaves at 5:15pm, so unless you want to just shuttle to the tourist trap shopping area of Brussels to get chocolate and waffles and fries (it's all you'll have time to do), I would advise you to do some other tour or go on your own. This wasn't a huge deal though -- what particularly bothered me was the belligerence, impatience, and bullying-like pettiness of our tour guide. We were treated alright, but my tour guide Pedro seemed to be picking on the Indian Canadian couple on the tour bus, mocking them (at least I perceived) for their vegetarianism, saying things like "You are Indian, so you should know..." blah blah blah. As a minority, this kind of behavior was rather cringeworthy and made me very uncomfortable. He also got really angry over some trivial matter where one of the other tour-goers forgot to drop their radio headset. Pointing his finger and telling them "I am not your servant," he ran across the bus and carelessly (albeit accidentally) bumped my mom. Extremely professional -- I think not. I wouldn't buy from this company and chose another one. We purchased three hop on hop off tickets for a tour of Amsterdam and Van Gogh museum tickets. We were excited to start off our day and looked and looked for the buses. Unfortunately no buses were running because of the annual marathon through the city. We found this out from their competitor who said we don't sell tickets that day because the city shuts down. We Immediately called the company and asked for a refund. They said we can't use the Van Gogh tickets which was fine so we spent 90 euros on separate tickets and sent an email to the company. The company said they will only refund a partial amount for the bus and not the museum. Well this is not what we were told per the phone call and this is the email we got back from them. Awful service. Why offer the bus service if you know they won't be running that day. We disputed with our credit card. But why deal with this stress on holiday and do the right thing. Lindbergh Excursions - Poor example of customer service. - Tours Near Me - Amsterdam, New Hampshire

We went on the 7hr. Volendam, Marken and Windmills tour out of Amsterdam. Comfortable 2-deck coach transportation to exceptional sites in N Holland, with live guide narrating the countryside as we ride along. Because Lindbergh Tours doesn't use "Quiet VOX" personal listening devices, unfortunately, we missed the majority of the guide comments when on foot. For those interested in learning about the sites we visited, this was a major disappointment and the reason for my 3-star review. Our guide, in particular, seemed to be only talking to the few people near him, and ignored the remainder of our 70-80 person group. He also didn't hear or didn't care to answer questions from members of the group. We were in a dual language group, with almost 50% being Spanish speaking. The guide, therefore was forced to repeat all announcements in three languages, resulting in him constantly talking. Furthermore, there were two guides, but the other guide did no talking. Based upon the make-up of our group, it WOULD have made a lot of sense to split the group up into Spanish and English subgroups, with both guides only speaking one or two languages. The smaller groups also could have had a better chance to hear the guide. We have been on dozens of tours, and they all seem to understand how to narrate tours, except for Lindbergh. I would think that after being in business for so long, they would have this down by now. Hopefully, reviews like this may cause Lindbergh to invest in audio technology and/or better utilization of their guides. read more

Human doesn't actually take a tour around their own neighborhood. Since I have lived in both provinces I have never had the thought to discover this area till my friends who live abroad asked me to come along with them while they were visiting me in the Netherlands. I decided to go with them and play a long as a Fucking Tourist. We booked the excursion at "Lindbergh" travel agency in Amsterdam. It is located on "Damrak 26" (street name and number) nearby the central station. A simple travel agent inside a simple building which is decorated with simple IKEA-ish furniture. It was noticeable that men who worked there were Fat and Cranky. They seemed like hating their job and hating the tourists even more. They growled at us while pushing us into the bus just like a dog guiding the sheep's. They might have forgotten that our money that have made them that Fat. Although the tour bus looked old it was surprisingly comfortable inside as the seat applied enough space to sit. Unfortunately the decoration was absolutely hideous. The chairs and ceiling were covered with the 80's print which probably was the original cover as the bus didn't appear as new. We were not allow to talk loudly inside to prevent disturbing co passengers which I could easily understand. Furthermore they provide us headphone to follow instructions and information's to companion our journey to the country side from the recorder that planted inside the bus wall . There were few languages available for us to choose from. Since the tour bus were full with Spanish tourists the excursion was lead by a Spanish speaking lady who guided us in both English and Spanish languages. She talked English with a clear Spanish accent but it was understandable and she pronounced all word "bery bery Clearly". Diana who was our tourist whisperer came from Colombia. A tour is a tour. It's a group of disparate people thrown into a situation where not everyone will follow direction, someone will invariably try and cheat the system, you'll be forced to do activities that might not be what you choose, but in the end you will have a good time, you'll have seen something you didn't know about, but wanted to, and you'll buy something you really didn't need but will love! We took the country tour to see the windmills, cheese making and clog making! Fun! It was off season, so a 90 person bus only had about 40,45 of us on it! We got to sit on the top - take care if you are tall, you will hit your noggin up there! The bus has a system where you can plug in headphones and pick your language to enjoy a bit of information on your way between stops, and besides that the tour guide will usually speak in english, and this time she also did spanish. I definitely saw a ton, learned quite a bit, bought some amazing cheese and wooden shoe stuff and came home pooped. The staff on the bus and in the tour office were extremely friendly and helpful - the only bad part was that our friend bought the tickets on line, but still was told she had to go to the office prior to the tour to reserve a spot - kinda weak. Pro tip: you will be shopping and dining at pre-picked spots, so probably not the best but they are quick (for lunch turn around), and decent as far as prices of kitch stuff. read more

Aboard the Brussels City Tour and wasn't all that impressed with the experience. We've taken many a tour all over Europe during the last several years; booked over Viator.com so there was no reason to believe that this tour would be any less in fulfilling expectation. So where did Lindbergh/ the tour operator fall short you may ask? 1. The tour group on our bus was larger than normal and was a lot of people for one guide to manage. In these cases an assistant would be very beneficial. 2. The tour started much too late. We gathered at 9:30a and didn't arrive until noon in Brussels. No time for stops along the motorway which was quite long for all the people aboard. 3. One we arrived in Brussels the guided walking tour left a lot to be desired. Very limited commentary and the highlight was viewing a demonstration of candy chocolate making, which I would have gladly opted out of in favor or learning more about the history of the city itself. 4. Our guide Pieter was polite and really tried hard to keep the group organized, but he lacked enthusiasm and we have had much more engaging guides on past excursions of this type who really knew and shared a lot of details about the cities visited. Downtown Brussels was really busy today (as I'm sure it is during the Summer season), but again the city tour was much too short and the time in the city is quite limited because the bus heads back to Amsterdam promptly at 6pm; so don't be late or you WILL be left behind! Recommendation: Take the train from Amsterdam Centraal to Brussels downtown then buy a ticket on the hop on hop off bus. You'll learn more about the city and you can travel at your leisure - just plan to leave Amsterdam before 8a to make the most of your day. read more

We booked our tour through Viator. The tour was broken up into two parts. The morning we went to the windmill that was an active saw mill. Great demonstration! Marken was next with a fun presentation on clog making. Next a 20 minute boat ride to Volendam on the largest lake in Western Europe & fun cheese factory tour. Lunch was next and we ate at a nice pre picked restaurant. The Kibbeling was delicious and very reasonably priced. Edgar was our tour guide and was amazing!! You kept the tour fun & informational. Thank you Edgar & Ingrid! We returned to the starting place to start our second part of the tour. Delft was our first stop. The Royal Delft factory was very interesting and the town square time was nice to get off the bus and have time to ourselves. Next off to The Hague. Very informational as we drove through the governmental seat. Next was our stop at Madurodam & then back to Amsterdam after 8 pm. This was a stormy day. We all were soaked in the morning. Bring a strong umbrella and suitable rain gear or poncho as you will be walking to all the sights. Be sure your backpack is weather proof too. Eat all of your lunch! It's a long day and you will be eating a late dinner. You'll be glad you did!! The afternoon was not as energetic as the morning tour. Delft was interesting, we would have better enjoyed being able to get off the bus to walk around The Hauge than spending the time at Madurodam. Maybe by the end we were too tired and the weather was getting cooler so just wanted to get warm and get back to town? The guides made the trip fun and the bus was clean & comfortable. I had to cancel 3 tours in Amsterdam due to an illness and had to can the whole european vacation and was only refunded 2 of them. When I called them they were very rude and said it was the banks fault and i had called them, it was never received. I will never book any tours with them. read more

I booked the half-day windmill tour with my friend. The staff (Sandra, Poncho and Daniel) were professional and friendly. I enjoyed going to the different towns and learning about the wooden clogs in Marken and cheese in Vollendam. We stopped to eat at Vollendam and they told us that they highly recommended one restaurant for authentic Dutch food but it just looked like fish and chips. My friend and I decided to eat pancakes at the stall across the street which were delicious. I was a little disappointed in the windmill tour. Partly due to the fact that it was sunny early in the day and by the time we went to Zaanse Schans it started to rain and the wind picked up. The location they decided to take us was touristy and there wasn't time to take a bike and ride by the windmills. The windmill tour wasn't that great. It was hard to hear what the tour guide was saying. Also note that there is no toilet on the bus. Make sure you have some spare change so you can enter bathrooms. read more

If you want to be forgotten by the bus this tour operator is made for you otherwise I would harly suggest to choose another one : in few words we chose the tour to see the windmills and the shoe maker at Marken, my wife and I chose to visit the Marken village instead of the visit of the shoe maker : we informed our guide named 'Daniela' and we fixed the meeting point and the hour (14:00), unfortunatly when we arrived in advance at the meeting point we saw our bus leaving the parking ... we have had to returned to Amsterdam by ourself and of course to paye for it. It was clearly the fault of the guide 'Daniela' but the Tours & Tickets operator choose to believe the guide and not the client and did not want to refund us the price of the public transport to come back to Amsterdam ... read more

Took the half day trip to Marken, Volendam, Zaanse Schans with Stefan and Daniel. What a great trip! Stefan with his singing, piano playing and bright lively personality really made the trip. Along with Daniel and her great use of language , kindness and great insight made you feel important. We got lucky and saw a festival in Volendam with a lot of locals in authentic dress. We took two tours: One to Zaanse Schans (windmill), Marken (clog experience), and Volendam (cheese factory), and the other to Antwerp and Brussels. Both were great but the first one felt more forced and it felt less personal. In other words, the process felt more mechanical. But this is a bigger tour company and consequently, it has more people to shuttle around. This is kind of like City Sightseeing, it's got the double decker and the audio (all for the first tour I mentioned) and the sights are all relatively close to Amsterdam (oh and it's a half day tour). The other is a full day tour with a stop in Antwerp for a snack and an optional trip to Diamondland. The rest of the time is devoted to Brussels and it's area of international relevance. You get free time to get chocolates, Belgian frites (fries) and broodjes (sandwiches) and shop around. Overall, a good set of tours to get acclimated to Amsterdam and its surrounding areas and countries. read more

I visited Amsterdam for the 2018 International Aids Conference and spent 2 days on my own, exploring. Because my time was limited, I booked the half-day Windmill and Volendam/Marken tour. WOW!!! This was such as good time. Diana (my favorite), Carol, Yamil and Stef were awesome. Diana took the time to explain what we were seeing and going to see while the driver of the bus made us laugh with his jokes and awesome keyboard skills. The windmills were amazing. It was a wonderful windy day so it helped. Then we took the ferry to Volendam. What a beautiful town where we had a chance to see cheese making demonstration, a wooden shoe demonstration and the waffle making demonstration. All in all the 5.5 hours was worth every penny. I would definitely recommend this tour. I plan to do it if and when I'm back in Amsterdam. Make sure you book a tour with Diana, Carol, Yamil and Stef. They make the experience wonderful. read more

This is a very disappointing experience. Tours not timely and stuck waiting over an hour in Holland due to overbooking tours. It is the Saturday afternoon before Easter and many people have had to re arrange travel and Holiday plans now that tour is very late. Would recommend the Keukenhof Tour directly if you want to visit from Amsterdam. Unreliable tour company read more
