DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE! My husband and our 4 year old have recently moved to Carson City from Chicago, and we needed to find a preschool that was accepting students in the middle of the year, and this was one of the only places accepting children, (now we know why). First of all, Linda's preschool is anything but a preschool. I wouldn't even call it a daycare. First of all It is run out of an old woman's home, and the "classroom" is an old garage. I'm 99% certain that education of any type does not occur here. Nearly every time I dropped my child off and picked him up, the kids were all just huddled around a television in the owner's living room. I was only presented with actual school work my child had done once, and it was far below the level at which mid four year old should be. Daily complaints were made that my child had a listening issue. Sorry, folks, he is a 4 year old, and this isn't charm school. What really was the icing on the cake was when I arrived to pick my child up from the establishment and saw that the owner, Linda, was grabbing my child by the chin, questioning him on the location of his jacket. I was speechless. In hindsight, I wish I would've ripped her a new one at that moment, but I held my composure. She subsequently asked me,for the tenth time, if my child has a listening problem, to which I replied "Well,I don't think grabbing his chin isn't the way to do it." Linda called me later that evening and informed me that she was offended that I didn't back her up and that she was trying to raise my child, and I would have to find a new place to send my child. A preschool's role is not raising children, but providing them with an education and helping improve their social skills in a setting with other children their age. This was obviously an attempt to bury the incident. This was a blessing in disguise, because I was in fear that my child was regressing academically. However I'm in utter disbelief at the way my family was treated. read more
