For Dr. Riyaj. She is stellar. I researched thoroughly before selecting her to be the doctor I…read morewanted to go to for my issues. She was thorough in her explanation, I felt heard, she looked me in the eye and made sure to be very clear and succinct in her explanations to me on both what she would be examining and why. She also explained in detail why she needed to do surgery on me and why it was important. She asked questions. And while she was in the office examining me, she made sure that if there was any pain, she stopped immediately. I did just have surgery, and her notes were thorough on my chart so that I know what I can expect somewhat in my follow-up. Huge fan. And she has answered to problems I've been grappling with for years.

I was seeing Dr. Riyaj for my first ultrasound with her. I had had one done the previous week with…read moreDr. Kahn so I knew the baby was just fine. During my appointment Dr. Riyaj expressed she couldn't see the baby and wanted to do a transvaginal US. I initially declined stating I hated them and they hurt. I didnt want to be too distressed for the baby. She pushed more and I kept saying no. She asked a series of questions; "Any abdominal pain? Any bleeding or spotting?" I said no to all these things, I felt the baby and I were doing just fine. I only agreed to the vaginal exam once she said, and I quote "I think you're having a miscarriage" After the US, seeing that the baby was completely fine and healthy, like I had expressed, I said that in the future she not use the word "miscarriage" so lightly since I'm high risk and already worry enough as it is. I then told her I felt pressured and her response was "Well you said yes." You know, after she pushed and pushed. I did not feel respected nor safe. Because of the distress my visit caused I now get paranoid when I have light cramping and worry "is it just normal discharge or blood" everytime I go to the bathroom. I had finally got my first ultrasound a week prior and felt calmed, just for her to ruin it. If she had cared, she could have worded it so differently. When I went to reschedule I did not hesitate to switch doctors. I would not recommend Dr. Riyaj to any other woman and am glad shes leaving Heartfelt. The only good thing about this appointment was how wonderful and understanding the receptionist was helping me pick out a new provider. Walking me through their personalities and availability.

Dr (and I use the title loosely) Johnson is a hack and a quack who has no business wielding a…read morecrayon let alone a scalpel. He is unprofessional, incompetent and mediocre on his best day. I ended up with a C-Section where I had to be put under instead a local which would have numbed me from the waist down, because he manhandled me so badly that I was feeling pain instead of pressure. And when searching for a tool to insert under my ribs (I am a very small woman) all they had were larger, which he forced into place. All of which would be bad enough on it own, but he CUT my baby taking her out of the womb. The first time I heard my baby it was because she was screaming in pain. She had a cut an inch long that went deep into the meat of her shoulder, which has scarred her little s. And he showed no give a damn. Instead of concern or an apology I received the excuse that my uterus was thinner than expected. And not 15 hrs later I had to go in for a CT scan because he wasn't certain if he had nicked or sutured my bladder shut. My baby's father and I have 16 nieces and nephews between the two of us with planned and emergency c-sections and not once had we ever heard of the horrible experience that my baby and I endured.
