I started in July 2018 and finished in September 2019 I took HVAC/R, It's 11 months Pros -Teachers are entertaining, keep the lesson interesting, and help you understand what they are teaching. You have the option to stay after for help and practice. -Hands on- in class, you will learn how to wire, charge a system, pull a vacuum, braze and solder, ductwork, inspect, diagnose, clean (Coils, equipment, etc.), and maintenance. -If deemed a good student, depending on what teacher you have, you can have jobs offered to you. This is great because you will see what you will actually encounter when you begin to work. Note: You have to prove to the teacher that you are a good student and this is not guaranteed. If you have the proper GPA and attendance, you can apply to become an elite student and be offered jobs with a teacher. Payment is not guaranteed and is up to the customer to give, they have no obligation to give anything to you or the teacher. -Career services will help getting you a job. While it will take a while for them to find you a job, and you're better off looking for one yourself, they will help with anything along the lines of employment. -You will receive tools that you will need in class and when you begin to work. These tools include: A ratcheting screw driver, a multimeter with a thermometer, a pressure gauge, an extendable mirror, a service wrench and allen key, safety goggles and glasses, 2 tubing cutters (One big, one small), a tape measure, and a dozen more. Note: You will not receive a vacuum pump or recovery machine, but you will have the opportunity to use both in multiple classes. -Before you finish your last class, depending on your performance in class, you will have the chance to speak with administration about your opinion for teachers, classes, and equipment. Cons -Pot heads. When you go outside, follow the parking lot close to the baseball field, you will see the dozens of HVAC, automotive, and EEST students just wasting their time and money getting stoned during lunch, breaks, and during class. You will walk into class with a couple guys, mostly in the back, stinking like pot. -Short classes. Each class is only 20 days, which at first seems like a fair amount, but you'll realize after your first few classes how rushed everything is and how teachers admit that they could teach a lot more. -Some students are just assholes. You got good ones, and you got bad ones. The good ones are assholes during breaks, lunch, before class starts, and after class ends. The bad ones, are assholes during class who interrupt the lesson. There were a few times where teachers wasted valuable time in class to argue and kick out assholes who decide to interrupt their lessons. As said before, 20 days is not enough to learn and understand everything we're supposed to. Each time someone argues and complains during a lesson, it interrupts the class and makes us all learn less than we should. Also, some students are thieves. I've had a tool stolen and so have many others. So if you're going to be a student, put your name and sharpie and etch in your initials if possible. I was lucky enough to have my pipe cutter stolen. I've met people who have had their multimeter stolen, pressure gauge, both pipe cutters, wire stripper, safety glasses, and even tools brought from home. So, please, write your name multiple times in sharpie and etch your name in the tool just incase. Overall, the school is not bad. It's not great, but it is one of the better options. If you go to the school, you will see an example of success in multiple teachers who started off going to that very same Lincoln tech. Each teacher will tell you that going there will give you a basic understanding in every part of the trade and that you will really begin to learn when you start working. As an elite student who has graduated, I can verify that you can get the opportunity to work with teachers in real places such as homes, pop eyes, and a national guard armory. I have done installations, service, wiring, and cleanings on ice makers, ice cream machines, air conditioners (Condenser and evaporator), and furnaces (Oil and gas). If you decide to go to Lincoln tech, do the best you can to learn and participate in all activities and lessons. Make sure you get there early to get good parking spots (I usually got there a little after 6:30), ask for help and admit to mistakes you made in the classroom. Sure the teacher will get slightly annoyed, but he will tell you, "That's why you're here," and you will not only learn how to fix the problem you caused, but also how to avoid the problem. Only you will decide whether this school will be a waste of money or not. I decided to make it worth every penny I spent. Quick side note: One of the other reviews complains about convicts. It is true that there are former convicts who attend the school, but most of them (at least the ones who admit to being convicts) are the hardest working and smartest. read more

Everyone there disrespectful smh. I put my info to look more into the school and they called me not much longer later but my phone ended up dying . Once I got my phone back on they texted me with the rudest and dumbest text ever and yeah they can try again with me but with an apology and respect next time. read more

If their was a zero would be better they don't deserve any star. They robbed us money wise my son quit because they kept lying to us about prices and now they r biling us 17000 for 4 months. Is not recommended at all read more

This place is a total scam. They just wanna take your money and believe me when I say take your money and put you in a HUGE DEBT the worst Decision of my life. At the beginning, everybody looks nice and after they get you to enroll into a program, everybody is rude and nasty and unprofessional. Teachers Don't really care about your learning either your future or career, You go to the classroom and you'll be sitting there for hours doing nothing or just watching a video, for the labs the teacher don't care they do not even go through them and really take the time to explain you anything they say just completed so you get the credit, they don't take you to the shop if you go like once every month is just to go through a quick rundown and that was it. You don't do no hands in at all, So you end up Learning anything waste of time waste of money. You end up with DEBT. The teachers are very unprofessional, There was this Spanish bilingual teacher he even brought his girlfriend to the classroom that's how Getho this place is referring to the evening program wish I believe they are the same from the day shift. It's nothing you cannot learn from YouTube or by yourself Believe me, it's not worth, it is a TOTAL SCAM. read more

Currently attending the school and it's great! The teachers are kind and willing to help you if you seek help. Most of the teachers are experienced in the field and have done this for a living so can give you the real deal on what's going on and what your going to experience. great school cant wait to get a job out of here and update. read more

worst exp i ever had no exp just reading a book i could have paid less to by each book on my own, also the teachers do not teach most of them sit there innthe phones collecting free mkney while we gotta pay thousands to attend , so far i got threatened by two of the teachers and a class mate but someone how in they eye I(you) would be in the wrong in these senrios i cant wait until December read more

Hello, I graduated almost two years ago I don't recommend Lincoln Tech because they didn't support me in finding a job after graduation or even during my time in school. Despite multiple attempts to contact the department responsible for job placement, I never received any help. Meanwhile, they constantly called me about paying off my student loans, even though I had no income. They also refused to allow me to put my loan account on hold, which made the situation even more difficult. read more

If I was able to give it 5 rotten apples I would . First the sales team are a bunch of scammers they play the ball that seats are filling up quick . Then after I started I had gotten a job with the local utility company and they got all bent out of shape that I was leaving and wanted to get more money out of me . I had a GPA of 3.3 did not fail out but I can see the scummy things they say about people , avoid this place at all cost read more

Do not go here. I graduated. Teachers will say that every review is from people that failed out or left. I now have loans for no reason. You don't learn anything here. I graduated with a 3.9 gpa and had perfect attendance. I have a bachelors degree as well. That being said there are about 2 good teachers. Students smoke weed on every single break and the teachers and staff just laugh about it. Go some where else if you truly would like to learn or some how get financial aid. Not worth full amount. Career services will help you get a job at about 13/hr. I had to find a job on my own to get paid something decent. They also only talked to me one time the entire year I was there. Not much help at all. They just want your money. Pretty funny they say they have no record of me going there now too. I posted pictures with proof I graduated from there. Shows how they treat the alumni too. They didn't have a Jake go to the school ever? Also, an email that doesn't work to speak with someone. read more

Not worth the money that I spent. Lincoln tech seems to be a great school in orientation and all. But as soon you start your first class you realize that you spend 90 percent of the time sitting in class. Not only there's lacks of hands on experience. But when we did have our hands on day (shop day) every time the cars wouldn't turn on and a bunch of electrical issues which would prevent the students from performing our work required that day. Made going to school feel like a chore. Anyone that is interested in going to Lincoln tech to learn about cars/ work on cars I promise you that your local tire shop such as Mavis tires will hire you and provide much more better learning experience read more

Save your money, Not worth it to attend. Place lacks space for individuals to perform work, equipment is used to much. Administration doesn't perform their job correctly. The teachings from most instructors is terrible. Horrible Wi-Fi, No parking and as for food you get vending machines and food trucks that don't last long and can be quite pricey. read more

This overpriced school recruits children that finish high school with no direction and no aspirations and no self esteem that feel school is a joke and thats what you will have to deal with on a daily basis classes are their playground and nobody does anything to stop them from the director to the teachers they are all afraid and they teach you garbage you can learn on the internet teachers are under qualified clowns that should be embarrassed to call themselves teachers Please do your research and don't make my mistake and get shrewd with student loans and no future empowerment!!!! read more

It's great school for the future, I will recommend any member of my family and my friends to go there. The staff management have great personality, they are so instructive, the teachers over talented, even I have bad day at work since I'm in class I feel better, the EEST Mr Vega .C 101program is great .Ours teachers they really care about us to achieve our dreams .l learned about AC/DC system series circuit/circuit electrocution ,grounding Bonding, interaction on production of electricity, basic safetybasic construction safety the top five rotary hammer, forklift training ,been there for twelve weeks learned a lot for 12 weeks ,they're EXCELLENT!!! read more

Don't waste the time I'm in a CNC class. The teacher sits around and bitches because we are not reading or interpreting right. Then a lot goes talks to the director he pissed at us for talking his boss. We ask questions and he mumbles tells us no. He can BARELY speak English. Learn English before you leave the island mon. So, how we talk to then? Why he pissed at us? Sorry guy I don't understand Island speak. I have worked with a company before that is ran that way not again. He to learned been out work way to long. read more

I went to this so called school. They will suck you dry for your money. They had a rule that if you fail a class 2 times you're out. It happened that I failed the last class twice. I was kicked out because I noded my head downward as if im falling asleep. The teacher was supposed to be the strictest. This was about 20 years ago. Please do not fall for this stupid school. read more

The school is mostly filled lazy teachers, you mostly have to teach yourself, during covid, the classes online are extremely disorganized for the most part, you are micro managed when online, like a child, teachers are unprofessional when you ask for help, at first the school wasn't this bad, but the further I go in, the worst this program gets, especially the electric program, do yourself a favor and look for another school. The only really good thing about school which is a big plus, is the credentials of this school and looking for a job. It open up a lot of avenues to go to. read more

This establishment is actually really terrible. I was trying to attend this for orientation and was shocked to hear that I had a payment due. I spoke to financial advisors and no one told me about it and when I told the people at the financial desk they told me that I could not attend because payment was due today. I was asked to talk to Richard Clark(Lincoln Director) Tech and the first thing that he says to me is "I have a lot of people on the waiting list that want to be at this school, do you want to attend or not"? I honestly felt threatened and I became upset. He was trying to rush so he can present for the orientation that I was supposed to attend. It took a while to process why were they talking to me like I am the problem in this situation. I finally answered him and said that I want to go home. I later got on the phone with Mrs. Kaminsky and she defended everyone and tried to say that my mood was off, implying that I was trying to cause a problem in this situation which I wasn't, I am an immigrant trying to go back to school and start my life and this situation just pushed me back to square one. I am completely disheartened and sadden that I no longer feel comfortable go to a school that treat PEOPLE like this. read more

the hvac program is not good. it was advertised as a full time program with a hands on curriculum. instead, it ended up being maybe 2 to 3 hours of class time. sometimes it's a lab, sometimes it's a lecture with demonstration but then that is it. a lot of times classes are online. you'll be at the school for 3 hours. they did just change it to full time hours but they are not providing the training so you are just sitting i class doing nothing for the majority of the time. for $30k, this is horrible. read more

School could use work. School is ok, depends which teacher you get. Most are very unprofessional. I've seen a few use foul language and some actually standing up to students to fight. Every class i've taken so far starts about 30-40 minutes late because the school wifi is too slow and everyone has to go log on. We sit around alot (depending which "Mod" you're on) I know a few students who have mentioned the wifi getting fixed to people who it matters to but they just get told what they want to hear to send them off on their way. School seems to be worried more about collecting money from students instead of worrying about issues that affect the students. We dont always have a long enough ladder to use for labs. Yet that financial line is always busy and the wifi sucks. read more

Horrible school. Not only do the teachers automatically assume you have years of experience but they are ignorant and arrogant. Waste of time and money I highly advise no one to enroll in the electric technician or EEST for this school. Don't waste your money. A teacher here tried starting a fight with a student and the way how they run this school is unprofessional. You're better off in college and don't miss any days because towards graduation they will pull a quick one on you. This school forces labor around the school as a "hands on experience" because they lack proper professional staff to do their own school work. This school and staff needs to understand not everyone that enrolls in this school has Even touched a tool before. Pathetic and a waste of my time and money. read more

I went for 6month and their charging me a full year it's BS messing up my credit you do learn stuff alot of basic but why they charge a full year if I only went for 6 month and if they closed my account and set a due bill wheres at least my certificate for the 6 month course I got a toll box and a full year charged when I only went for 6 month read more

This school really doesn't teach you anything I sure as hell didn't learn anything and when you do get to work on cars there are like 15 students in front of you. If you can see what the teacher is doing great but if your in the back then good luck. It does feel like a prison since A LOT of the students have been in prison. If you do drugs then you're in for a treat!! I really regret going to that school (I graduated in 04') please save your money and find an apprenticeship with a real mechanic or find a different school. Also if your into hot rods or any other classics then this isn't the school. If your into imports then this is it! I'm not a mechanic now I work in the hair industry and I'm making more money and I work with a lot of girls whats not to like about that. If you do decide to go there then I wish you good luck!!! Remember it's a sausage fest in there and you'll be there for 13 months!!!! read more

I went here in the late 90's. Took the H.V.A.C.R course at night. Some instructors were good some were just immature and wanted to pick fights with the students. The Program itself was good. If you keep your mouth shut do your work and mind your own business then you will learn. My class started with 23 and ended with three graduating. When I graduated I started a job at 18 an hour working on chillers and absorbers. From there it was refrigeration equipment. Moved to Cal in 2001 and worked as a supermarket tech for 7 years topped out at 38 an hour left and worked on precision cooling equipment. Last few years I work for a manufacture of supermarket equipment as the west coast tech support. Work from home and travel. Love it. The options are there, you get out what you put in, there are many paths to choose in this field as I can attest. read more

Havc program: The place is a ghetto school. The administration is extremely unprofessional in the way they act and dress. The teachers are very knowledgeable and go out of their way to help understand the classes. This is the best hvac school out there and it is know in the field as one of the leading schools. It is NOT considered the devry of chubb of hvac it is the real deal. Once again while the school is a shit hole but the teachers are top notch. Also this school is designed so as long as your attendance is up to par you will pass all the classes. Don't leave any valuables in your car the school is to cheap to turn the lights on in the lot and it is a shady area. read more

Horrible school. It's a shame cause some of these teachers actually know what they're talking about, but only given about 20 days to cram all that info into your head. And its 20 days flat, meaning if school gets called off due to bad weather or whatever the case may be, those days are just lost. Constantly over populating courses aswell. Instead of having new enrollees wait a month or 2 to ensure they get the best experience they can, they just shove in as many students as possible. 2 FULL INTRO CLASSES when I started, my into class wasnt even held in the proper room so we didnt get to do anything, in the time I was enrolled that's happend 3 separate times. The schools more worried about getting ur money than anything else. Because of how many people they allow in each month parking is actually impossible to find. If you come in anytime after 7 am you'll have to park an actual mile away from the building cause parking in the ALWAYS EMPTY LOT next to the school will land you a ticket. At first it was only a $40 ticket so it wasnt that bad, now it's close to $200. They will tell you ANYTHING to get you to enroll and once you do, you're basically told to go fuck yourself everytime you have an issue since all they do is listen to you complain and then send you back to class without any intentions of fixing the issue. If a teacher is absent, they'll just throw any available sub in, meaning its somebody who doesnt actually know the criteria of the course so it's a waste of a day. They'll tell you the program is hands on learning cause they understand the people who come here arent the best students, I've had but 3 classes that were actually hands on, everything else was taught out of AND STRICTLY out of the textbook. Essentially you take a 30k loan out for a text book and somebody who may be able to answer your questions. I was told this 30k tuition covers all of the certifications you need to work in the field, it doesnt. I've had to pay an additional $35 for multiple certificate that of which are needed to work in todays field. Your EPA is the only thing this school covers that you're guaranteed to need. The other 2 that are included are situational depending on what path you take after graduation. DONT WORRY THOUGH THEY GOT A 80K CORVETTE THEY DISPLAY FOR ALL TO SEE, that's where your tuition goes. Some classes ask you to attend some expos, you have to provide your own transportation and not going counts against your grade. They have you fill out course surveys throughout the year, its not a optional thing, they will hound you down and pull you out of class until you submit the review. And the bad ones always get buried. The career services people (dispite what they tell you when you enroll) you'll never see these people leave the office, they'll help you find a low paying job if you track them down. I had to go off on my own and find something myself, and was laughed at when they discovered I went here. Basically what this school is preparing you for is to be a highly in debt apprentice. Save yourselves about 25k and buy the textbook, read it yourself and take the certification test on ur own time. In my time at LT, I've not met a single person who was glad they decided to go here, everyone is remorseful they were swindled so easily. You get breaks every hour, and in between those breaks class time is basically more down time. When you leave this school, you'll have one of 2 things in ur arsenal, either a loaded notebook of notes you'll have to constantly return too or a brain full of jumbled information you cant decipher from each other. DO NOT GO HERE read more

I went in 1994 to 1995 for automotive and the hands on training was not good at all .The place is over crowded and you have to supply your own car and parts if you want something to work on.They have old transmissions and engines to take apart but the some of the parts are missing so you never really experience anything done right. The scan tools and engine anallizing machines have to be shared with other students. After I got my certificate I filled out applications at STS ,Midas and dealerships but never got the job I wanted. The only place that hired me was Sears Automotive changing tires for 8.00 an hour.My advice take a college course or buy the ASE study guides. read more

Going to this school was the worst decision I ever made. I was a director's list student but didn't learn what I needed to learn to work in the field. Not only that but they Hound you for whatever money you owe. The customer service reps treat you like you're worthless. Not to mention that the education you receive is not worth the almost $30,000 you spend to receive that education. As a student of the automotive department my suggestion would be to just go with UTI. Yes it's more expensive but you get more shop time and you actually learn what you need to learn. read more
