I've been a patient here for about 5 years. The staff was always awful but they've gotten so much worse since the doctor retired. They "forgot" to refill my rx for over a month despite several calls from both the pharmacy and myself. Only when I said I'd report them (which I am doing today) did they respond. Their response was "oh I thought she did that". After being passed to a new provider when the dr retired, she left after a couple of months and I was passed to yet another person, Inez. She kept cancelling my appointments with no explanation, just a text saying cancelled. These people are lazy and they don't care about you at all, they have no idea how important consistency is with the meds they prescribe. Do not waste your time here. read more

I have been a patient at this practice for nearly 11 years. I have diagnosed ADHD, along with other chronic medical conditions that impact my daily life. Today, I called to cancel an appointment due to a legitimate physical health concern (sun poisoning), and I was threatened with termination from the practice if I canceled again. This kind of policy is not only ethically disturbing, it may violate multiple federal and professional standards. According to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), it is illegal to discriminate against or penalize patients for medical conditions -- physical or mental. The American Medical Association (AMA) also clearly states that physicians must not abandon patients, and that termination of care must involve clear documentation, adequate notice, and non-discriminatory reasoning. To make matters worse, the individual making this threat was not my provider, but the office manager, Liz -- who claimed she had the authority to unilaterally terminate patients for canceling appointments, even for medical reasons. If Liz accessed or acted upon information in my personal medical record without direct clinical justification or HIPAA training, that also raises serious concerns about HIPAA violations. Office administrators are not legally authorized to enforce medical decisions without provider oversight. This facility claims to serve people dealing with trauma, anxiety, and mental health conditions -- yet shows zero compassion, flexibility, or professionalism toward long-term patients managing chronic health issues. If this is how they treat someone with a decade-long record of commitment, I fear for those in more vulnerable circumstances. read more

I have received nothing but polite, kind and professional care from the staff in this office. The care this group has provided to me throughout the years has been exemplary. Dr. F has been the backbone of the strength and courage I had through a major life event. i was able to make it through and learn to cope going forward. I am sad to see him leave. read more

The one time in almost 2 decades that I needed them most they turned their backs on me. Claimed not to receive voicemails and did not return any phone calls when I actually was lucky enough to speak to a human being. Very sad state of affairs. Five calls in less than a week and I still have not received a call back. read more

The doctor and LCSW's are amazing here. The staff is so kind. The doctor is easy to talk too, and has helped me more than any other doc I tried. The Make LCSW is amazing. I never had anyone so willing to help me, and he makes it a very safe place and gives me lots of different things I can try. They also have TMS which I did a few years back. They are at a new address 400 George Washington HWY now. Basically in the same complex, just different building. read more

I never thought I'd give such a low mark on Dr. Fitzhugh. I had a very rough year from a close elderly relative having to have surgery to my own medical problems. My depression hit an all time high. When not at work, I was hiding in my room. My power of attorney, whom he knows well, called him. I didn't want to talk to ANYONE, so I wouldn't talk to him. When he was told that, he said he wouldn't do anything. Besides that, his last two med changes were in the same class. The first didn't work. Why would the second? I just felt he wasn't sure what to do anymore, so I felt I needed someone else to help me. I did let them know to expect another doctor's office for notes. They say they don't have to and won't take calls from mine or my friend's doctor! read more

I am not sure why this office has such low ratings. Ginsberg is amazing and very helpful, while 99 percent of meds I had an adverse reaction to, that's not the offices nor docs fault. Trial and error here people, and it's frustrating at best. But you can't blame an entire med practice on that small fact!!! The office staff (minus 1 crabby lady) is extremely polite and take the time to know the patients. I am always greeted by name whether it on the phone, or coming in for an appt!! I highly recommend this practice. Anyone with problems with this practice is not willing to work with the docs!!!! read more

Clients are coming here for behavioral health issues that are treated sometimes as they do not expect. So you have a vast amount of raw emotion involved. I have been coming here close to 4 years on a regular basis and have found the NP to be the finest possible. They manage my medications not only the ones they prescribe but also looking for interactions with my other prescribes. My issues are complex and the NP takes the time to hear me out and lets me express my concerns and then offers a solution that is tailored to address my concerns. I never leave an appointment with unresolved issues regardless of how long it takes to address them. I work in Behavioral Health and recommend this organization as a #1 place to go to. I don't know why my review came out as CA, but I am local to the practice. read more

I am sad my previous doctor retired because now I am left to deal with rude receptionists and incompetent doctors who write prescriptions w/ ZERO refills and then don't have the decency to return a phone call when I need a new one the next month. I ran out of meds the other day and when I called their "emergency" number Dr. Walter D. Fitzhugh III told me it wasn't an emergency before he hung up the phone on me......what a great guy who really cares about patients. I'm finding a new doctor. read more

Okay, where to begin - Dr. Fitzugh is a nice guy but prefers more to be buddy than doctor I think. I went there and bought up a disturbing event that I uncovered in Hypnosis - that wasn't easy for me to bring up. I was told by him word for word: "I have 10,000 people under me and I am the first one ever to bring something like this up." With my research I did on the situation, for what it is, every time he says he thinks not, my research shows the signs that there are. Guess what doc, it's the 21st century now and we do have this stuff to contend with. Also his office staff is useless, except for the lady who unfortunately had to have her hours dropped a bit for having a child she knew what she was doing - the OTHtlERS don't. They actually argue with you. The Office manager threatened me to give away an appointment I made for EMERGENCY status because of what I bought up to him. Then a blonde haired woman was laughing at me while I complained to the manager. I called her out on it ad lied directly to my face, "I did no such thing." She told me in denying it. Here's the thing - do not go here if you are looking to get well. They need to be careful with who they argue at a psychiatric office because they never know who will jump over the counter and attack them. I am NOT like that thank God for them, for if it was anyone else, I'm sure they'd have their hands full. Avoid if you want a REAL doctor. I would have left no stars.
