Fraudulent behavior - BEWARE - I called the Kenosha location at 3:43pm yesterday to confirm the…read moreKenosha location was open; I was told by the person who answered the phone that they were open. I then, at 3:46pm, purchased tickets on Boundless's website (from my phone) for me and three kids. I then drove 1.5 hours to Kenosha from Chicago, only to find upon arrival that it was closed. I went back to see what the email said and saw that, somehow due to a glitch with Boundless's website (and despite being told by someone at Boundless's Kenosha number that they were open), the tickets were for their Purchase, NY location. I then immediately called the number for the Purchase NY location to resolve Boundless's error and found out it was closed as well (despite selling me a ticket for that same evening)! I then immediately emailed Boundless and requested a refund due to the glitch on Boundless's website and the false and misleading information provided by the Boundless employee when I called prior to purchasing the tickets, and was refused a refund by the company's owner, Lorrie Funtlyder (she insisted I take a credit for the nearly $300 for services not rendered by Boundless). This is shameful behavior on the part of a business owner - when there is an issue with your website and your own employee provides false information to a potential customer, it is squarely your fault and you provide a refund.

We apologized and took her out no problem. He still stays there and keeps egging it on, he starts point at the rules all aggressive, we still again agreed we didn't read them and apologized. HE THEN states "I don't know if you need to read them in Spanish" like WHAT THE FUCK!!? So because of the color of our skin you make that comment yet we have been speaking to you fluently in English, my husband and I have no accents and we barely ever speak Spanish. So we were BLOWN AWAY. Moral of the story this piece of shit is RACIST. And yall shouldn't spend a PENNY there!!

Huge place. Great variety of routes. There are so many routes that you can't do them all in one…read morevisit. It would be hard to get bored of the climbs there, because there is almost always a route you've not tried yet. This place has more realistic features and cracks that other gyms don't have. The route grades seem a little inconsistent at times, and compared to the other climbing gyms in the Chicagoland area. For example, most routes feel much, much harder than that grade anywhere else. And many of the mid-to-harder grades seem better suited for taller people, as the shorter among us have to dead point or dyno to many of the holds. You'll definitely get braver and stronger climbing at Vertical Endeavors. Room for improvement: The loose black rubber flooring is always a complaint because like a trip to the beach where you find sand everywhere, pieces of this flooring comes home with you. It also leaves black stuff on your hands and feet, so I recommend that you wear socks/closed toed shoes between climbs, because it's not that easy to scrub out.

The Badass Dash 5K Obstacle Race is pretty new to the Chicago area. Last year was the first year…read moreand they held it in Rosemont. This year, they have two races. I completed the one at the Sears Center in Hoffman Estates. They are doing another one in August in Rosemont again too. Usually, these types of races are held pretty far from the city in rural, farm areas. I couldn't picture what this would be like in the burbs, but they did a really good job. The obstacles were really unique -there was no mud, but plenty of water oriented ones! Most of it was done either in or around the Sears Center (running up and down the stadium stairs were killer!) However, I was really pleasantly surprised by how pretty the prairie path was around this area too. It was the perfect combination of urban and "farm like" environments. The obstacles were pretty cool and many were unique to this race. My favorite was the end -climbing up the rope ladder and then sliding down into a pool. I would do this again next year -it was really fun and challenging! My advice, though; do not buy the spectator VIP package. I did and it wasn't really worth the money -this part was a bit disorganized and my parents didn't get any more "VIP" of a view than anyone else. Have your spectators sneak around and get a great view from the Sears Center lot.

That being said, it was still a good time and the obstacles were fun. The finish line area in particular was very very unorganized. The spectators were not separated from the runners in any way and there were many instances where the spectators were in the path of the course. The timing of the race was also odd. We signed up for the 9am heat, and they released the 9am heat in small batches at a time in 5 minute intervals so we were at the starting line for about 30-40 minutes after 9am waiting for our turn to go. They should have had a 9am heat, a 9:05, a 9:10, and so on. Then when we finished we checked the time of day, but had to wait a good 45minutes or so to find out what our race time was. We didn't know what time we finally started the race, so we couldn't figure out how long it took us to run it until they posted the times. All in all it was a good time, but I'll probably choose a different race to run next time.

The swing set area even has a couple larger chair-style swings for kids that may need a more structured chair for various reasons. There is a paved path winding through the park (perhaps 1/4 of a mile) along with a small pond and a little bridge. There are plenty of trees for shade, a few picnic tables and good amount of grassy open space for playing frisbee, tag, etc. The parking lot is paved with special drainage pavers to prevent/reduce flooding as well so the parking lot has stayed pretty nice without water damage.
