At one point Lincoln Mall was so dead, that its existence was laughable. Or pathetic. Eventually someone conceived the brilliant idea to turn it into something useful: a mini mall.
At this point I'm not completely sure it can be considered a full fledged mall. Sure there's a small indoor area with a Subway, optometrist, Papa Gino's, Claire's, etc but the bulk of the fronts are outdoor and for the most part, the store selection obviously wasn't chosen and geared toward those looking to max out their credit cards. Instead of the typical mall fare, there's a Job Lot, McDonald's, Dollar Tree, Stop and Shop as well as a fantastic Target. I primarily conduct most of my groceries between Shaw's, Whole Foods and Stop and Shop so this is a great, convenient location for when I need to stock up on cheap essentials.
There's also an awesome movie theater and the ~only movie theater I go to. Clean, newly built and modern, it's amazingly cheap and they allow me to bring in my iced coffee! In addition there's a Hollywood Video, Starbucks, Payless Shoes, Asian restaurant and a few other worthy stores in the same plaza.
Overall, while this isn't quite what you would assume based on its older forms, it's a perfect area for locals or beach goers to do their weekend shopping chores. Ultimately it wouldn't be fair to rate it based on the criteria of an actual mall thus I am reviewing it solely for what it is. If you happen to be spending a day at Lincoln Woods and need to restock the soda or chips, this is definitely the best place to stop as it's only two exits off the highway. Do not however, plan a trip specifically to spend cash at Victoria Secret's or Borders as you will be disappointed. read more
