Now I am visiting in January I can't wait to go back this Friday and Saturday to see which of the hearty vendors show up year round! When I was there in July, there were numerous veggie vendors, a few bakers, and some interestingly unique products like home made ice cream that apparently sells out every time the vendor is there! I regret that I walked by the ice cream vendor, not understanding how high quality it was. I'll have to return in the summer so I can indulge :) Lots of parking available, in a nice, up and coming if not already trendy area of Ottawa Street North. Highly recommend checking out the small local businesses while you're in the area, perhaps go for lunch or coffee and enjoy the walkability of the area.

It was $1/ear of corn, so comparable to a suburban farmer's market. A scoop of ice cream was $6/7! The Harvest Barn also serves as a great alternative to the supersized Mega-grocery stores which are all too commonly found in suburban cities across North America (which also tend to import their produce from all over instead of fresh, locally grown food). Outside they have picnic tables if you feel like enjoying the sunshine, and also a small kids play area (ie. small wooden train) which is great for distracting the little rascals or hyperactive adults. They also have Fruit Baskets, Deli Trays, and Sandwich Platters. I've never had the pleasure of having any, but I wouldn't hesitate in ordering seeing as everything else I've tried has been pretty fantastic.
