Lincoln Center - Music!! - Shopping Centers Near Me - Stockton, California

This is a very nice area for shopping. Reminded me of a smaller and hip version of "The Grove" in Los Angeles. There are a lot of one of a kind stores here, particularly my favorite Nothing Bundt Cakes which is located right next door to Starbucks. Trader Joe's, Safeway, Pieology, Jamba Juice and the infamous Market Tavern just to name a few foodies are all here. It's a bit spread out though but within the Lincoln Center area. Probably one of my favorite that I found here so far was Podesto's market. It reminded me of Draeger's. They have a lot of that one of a kind find specialty foods, great bakery, but also stocks the usual branded products. Pricing was inline with Safeway and Trader Joe's. What sets Podesto apart, their local neighborhood feel. I'll have to do a separate review on Podesto as I need to do more exploring. Really great market. Speaking off, I haven't had the chance to explore the whole Lincoln Center yet, but I did love their sitting area located at the Brickwalk. I was there during late summer and their comfy chairs with cushion was a nice surprise. Great place to sip your cappuccino, enjoy your red velvet cupcake and catch up with a good book. Lincoln Center is a long standing outdoor shopping plaza in Stockton CA. It's been around since 1951. It's always been one of the premier boutique shopping centers in town and is still. It has stand the test of time. LC property management has always upkept the look and remodeled the center throughout the years. 80% of the 94 businesses are small business owned and operated. How awesome is that?! So awesome! Plus the LC hosts special events. The Center is one of the safer places in Stockton, the security presence is present but not obtrusive. It is filled with boutique shops, gift and apparel stores (home decor, jewelry, shoes, fitness, health and beauty related), hair salon, eateries (including diners, high end white linen, casual)... Trader Joe's, Chico's women clothes, Rite Aid, Podesto groceries & deli, Safeway, Chevron gas station, Cold stone ice cream, Mc Calous department store, and so much more. This place reminds me of Montgomery Village shopping plaza in Santa Rosa. Similar layout and vibe. I live in Sac. Im from San Jose/ San Diego and dining in Sac is boring, bland, lots a restaurants have similar menus. Lincoln Center has gourmet restaurants, GREEK! Steak n Seafood, Pubs, Japanese, Sushi, fish n chips, pubs, bars. And the Italian Supermarket is fine find! We love Italy and I can find authentic Italian here. read more

This center in Stockton has it all! Came here yesterday and ended up walking around and really enjoying my time here. They have cute decor set up, some high end stores and affordable stores here. The set up they had for Santa was pretty elaborate. When I have children I will definitely consider bringing them here! Highly recommend this cute shopping center if you are in the are. read more

Contrary to the previous review, being of a 'non-white' ethnicity, I LOVE Lincoln Center. If I could take care of ALL of my errands in Lincoln Center.... it would be a perfect day. I have been living in Stockton since the mid-70's and I remember the snootiness in the early days.... but I have yet to experience it nowadays. Love this shopping center because of all the great boutique type stores and the location as it's not far from my house. I'm easily at one or more of the stores/restaurants in this shopping center everyday. The list of stores is just too long to list here but you could literally do all your shopping here and not go any place else. They just completed some much needed roadwork to help with the traffic congestion and it seams to have helped. The owners of the center do a great job in keeping it clean and we'll maintained but let's not forget about the security staff that keeps everyone safe and happy. read more

Lincoln Center...it is almost the center of Stockton now. I am totally a fan of Lincoln Center. I have been a fan since the days of my childhood when I was mesmerized by the big "L" that lit up and spun around in the air. There are tons of different places to shop...that is one of the nicer things about Lincoln Center. You can go grocery shopping at Podesto's, go grab a bite at Stockton Joe's or Payters, grab a bouquet of flowers at Sylveria's, get some new music at Rasputin's and grab some desert at Coldstone or Jamba Juice. If its late and you need to stay up you can grab coffee at Starbucks. You could spend a whole day here. I will completely agree with a previous reviewer that sometimes some of the smaller stores and boutiques seem a little "snooty". I have a mom who spent a whole lot of time shopping at Campbell's for clothes so I got to watch it happen right in front of me. My mom would walk into some of the stores looking like she belonged there and her backward hat wearin' son walks in a couple minutes after her and I get tons of dirty looks from people who work in the shops. Remember Lincoln Center has the bigger stores like Podesto's and Stockton Joe's but some of the smaller shops do not get a whole lot of foot traffic throughout the day. To be honest there are times when going in to those smaller shops makes me feel bad especially if I am just looking...it seems like they might not get a whole lot of business. The shopping center is in a really nice area of Stockton..just north of the malls and right next to Bank of Stockton and down the street from Lincoln High. It is an area where you do not need to worry about leaving your car while shopping. They are building new stuff right across the street where Michaels used to be so the area might even improve a little more. I still will always look for that big "L" in the sky and I will still continue to be happy to shop here. :0) read more

Well contrary to belief Lincoln Center is not as pure and secure as some people make it out to be..an employee got their catalytic converter stolen in the parking lot right in front of the store! I feel once the hood was up from the other car security should have been right there to ask if they needed help to call a tow truck or something. The car pulled up right next to the employees truck and put their hood up and opened their door to make it seem like they had broken down! It makes me mad because the center took no responsibility for the lack of attention of their security. A nice shopping center with lots of little shops and a nice place to hang out during the day (there are nightly events at times). I shop at Podestos now and then, Jitterz is great for a drink, Whirlows is okay, Buds Seafood same, Ernies on the Brickwalk if you want fine dining. I personally wouldn't recommend Stockton Joe's, Sho Mi or Papavlov (I might give the latter a few more tries) but I really dislike 'em as is. Then again, they have crowds all the time so maybe its just me but I know what I do or don't like. Theres also a Starbucks and Jamba for you fiends out there. But all in all, a nice place to walk around, lot of pricey shops and mostly geared towards an older demographic although there is an urban wear store. Good location with plenty of parking but everything closes by 5-6PM when most people are getting out of work but again its not really for the younger crowd and that helps give it a nice atmosphere. Wish we had more of it spread around Stockton. read more

My first time visiting the Lincoln Center was pretty interesting. It's a beautiful place but driving into it you begin to realize how white the North side of Stockton is. Being as I was one of the few people of color around, it was funny walking around the plaza. Old white people would just be staring left and right as if they've never seen a Latino before. They didn't even try to hide the fact that they were staring, they were basically breaking their necks trying to see where I'd go next. I walked into some sports store, I forget the name, but the store manager refused to sell anything because his machine "wasn't working". How're you going to have the doors wide open and not be able to sell anything? Anyways overall the area is really nice, the stores are great, but the people are sort of rude so fuck them. read more

Buy prime rib here for special occasions, quality meat from Alpine Meat Co. Fresh seafood also crab ,salmon, scallops,shrimp,fish,etc. like shopping here than waiting in long lines to check out . Customer service people friendly . This place is trying to be something it obviously doesn't have the potential or ability to be. It's filled with little velley girls and their high school bffs during the day pretending that their the shit with their outdated Coach and Dooney and Bourke purses. At night it's filled with douche bags, and people who desperately want to be seen. Guys in their tight Ed Hardy shirts (sooo Staten Island!), and the valley girls from high school all grown up. ALL the shops are AWFUL, it's no LA or San Francisco. You'll find more fashionable clothes online, all while avoiding the pathetic crowds of people. And don't get me started on the restaurants. I am a fan of the center-especially the fine eating establishments and Podesto's however Emily, maybe you haven't been in all the stores in LC. I am white and I get a big dose of snootiness in some of the small boutique type shops. Maybe I'm not dressed properly or don't look "monied" enough; I have definitely gotten a "vibe" from employees/proprietresses while shopping. One of the shop's I'm thinking of, I believe is now closed, named appropriately, "La De Da". I used to feel as if I was being watched the whole time I was there. Needless to say I did not return. There is also a bath boutique place "Ocean Avenue" where I get that vibe as well. read more

There are some really good stores at Lincoln Center: Trader Joe's, Rasputin Music, Aaron Bros., Beads Plus, Ocean Avenue, House of Clocks is where the husb brought ye ol' Grandmother Clock to get tuned, and Tobacco Leaf. I'm not sure about the other places as I've never been. read more

The management group is second to none. They try so hard to run a good show. I love the current mix of tenants, especially the restaurants. There are so many good and diverse choices . Favorite Japanese restaurant? Domo - try the Tonkatsu Ramen and G-spot roll. My favorite Mexican restaurant? Tio Pepe's The Original. Try the bean and gravy dip and Carne asada. My favorite martini and pizza? Market Tavern. Best sea food? Bud's. Greek? Forget about it. Papapavlo's rocks. My favorite Chinese? New Yen Ching. Love the sizzling rice soup. When I arrived I was surprised at how beautiful it was because it was my first time being there, but then beautiful turned into disgusting. I went with a few class mates and mind you most of us are Mexican. I do not have a problem with white people, but I did not feel welcomed at all. There was only white people there besides me and my classmates. They stared at us like they have never seen people of other races before. The stares they gave us made me feel uncomfortable. Have you guys ever watched Get Out? Well that is exactly how it felt. In the grocery store one of the workers were following us around and pretending to be fixing stuff on the shelves. I saw a comment from another yelp user, and she said that she did not like going to the mall because of all the riff rafts, but she loved coming the Lincoln Center because she felt more welcomed. I now see why Holly G. Other than that, the place is pretty nice. My suggestion is, if you are anything but white, do not come here to have a good time. Overpriced shopping and dining. I have never understood the draw to Lincoln Center. The main office staff is rude and entitled. Many of the employees and owners throughout the center are inconsiderate and look down on you if you aren't "somebody" in this town. The newest addition, McCaulou's, is the biggest disappointment since Midgley's. The only good thing about this center is the security. read more

It would be great if the stores could have some later hours...and Podestos is overrated , while their sandwiches are fantastic they treat customers with such disrespect it is unreal. I was blamed for a credit card machine being down by the employee and looked at like a pauper when asked "you don't have cash?" as he put my items back. I won't give them my business as they are priced high for those that don't have to think about spending money and I was trying to celebrate a mommy daughter moment which my 9 year old could point out the treatment of the snobbery. The area is higher end so I don't shop most stores anyway. The Jamba Juice usually has nice staff, yet a newbee decided to act like a nut allergy was no big deal and I was so excited the previous week when they had taken serious my daughters allergy to Jamba Juice standard practices and washed separate and kept her drink safe from contaminants...some people don't care... The Begals at Noah's are addictive, yet the owner is a complete asshole. If he isn't there, I will go in. No one should act as though guests of your business aren't important. There is likely no way they will ever go out of business the rich will feed the rich...so I let them. The other side...Trader Joes EXCELLENT not even the same vibe. Dad's Hot Dog....FANTASTIC all have to be reviewed separate for their true character stands alone. Probably the only place (besides a block of miracle mile) for shopping & eating that I actually feel safe in Stockton. "Snootiness" or whatever I prefer that over the gangsters & whatnot walking around in the malls. As long as they stay out of Lincoln Center I love it there & feel safe to walk around and shop! I love basically every boutique plus Podesto's, Bud's, Santiago's, Papapavlos, Starbucks, Payters, etc.! Not having to worry about riff-raff is the part of the center! If snootiness bothers you...go to the malls-trust me there won't be any of that there...but wear a bullet proof vest&bring your mace. If that's not what you want then you're going to have to get over it & leave Stockton or come to Lincoln Center because while you're in Lincoln Center you can walk around with your friends enjoy the stores, the company of others, and the weather...& forget you're in Stockton while getting your errands done.
