I have been there many times since, in fact my house mates and i make it a regular event, and I will talk for hours on end to anyone who will listen just how good the food is. I have never been disappointed by this restaurant. The food quality is so fresh, so tasty, so perfectly cooked. The vegetables always have that crispness that only the best Chinese food seems to have. Some of my faves include Mapo Tofu, any flavour dumplings, the spring rolls, sizzling Mongolian lamb, soy pork belly, black bean beef and the fried rice is great too. The prices here are so reasonable. Bring a group and everybody leaves satisfied! I have yet to pay more than $15.00 (in a group) and we leave stuffed every time. Seriously, just have a meal here and you'll know what I'm on about...

It features good, solid value, simple chinese dishes done really well. I've always said the true test for a Chinese restaurant is how many Chinese people you find eating there - Pagoda is consistently filled with Chinese clientelle enjoying the food. There's a little bonus at lunchtime, too, a cheaper takeaway menu featuring a half serve of your chosen dish with fried rice. Decor - well, it's a chinese restaurant. It looks like a chinese restaurant - but then, seriously, you're going there for the food. :) My personal favourites are the ginger mushroom fish, and their combination omelette is to die for. Classic food, done right.

If you are after an authentic…read moreBangkok, cheap as chips, street-but-not-street dining experience then this is the place for you. Sitting in the dining area waiting for my takeaway order, I realised how popular this place is with the locals. The staff know their names, the regulars don't even need to look at the menu and there is a steady stream of customers through the door, on a stormy and wet night. Could the reason that they don't have all the Yelp love be because the locals want this to remain a "hidden" gem?! The menu has your standard western favourites, your honey, lemon, sweet n sour, satay, plumy sweet n sticky sauces. I usually stay away from these dishes as I'm not a huge fan of overly sweet dishes. What I love about great Thai food is the balance of sweet, salty, sour and spicy. Bangkok delight was there on all but spicy, but this could easily be fixed next time I order by simply requesting more chilli. I always order Pad See Eew over Pad Thai. Everyone generally ruins Pad Thai with ketchup rather than tamarind and a weird use of vegetables. But Pad See Eww is a simple sauce, a green, chicken and egg and some big flat rice noodles. The one I had tonight had some nice flavour from the wok and with addition of my chilli vinegar at home made it nicely balanced for my palate. The pork ribs in Klong Rard Sauce as it was one of the sweeter dishes, a traditional family recipe from the kitchen. It was a little bit sour, the meat was really tender and veggies stir fried with was still crisp. The Gai Yang was my favourite of all the dishes. Grilled marinated chicken thighs served on a shredded Thai salad, in the style of a papaya salad. The salad dressing was on point! I had it all with plain steamed rice. I hope more Yelpers gives this place a try, it was great, the service was friendly and the food delicious.

This is a friendly little restaurant that offers some Thai brilliance with a few other surprises…read more I talk a lot about places that offer authentic cuisine and places that pander to what the western world considers to be asian food. Normally a restaurant will go one way or the other. Bangkok Delight actually manages to do both. The honey chicken, and lemon chicken seem to be two of those dishes that seem firmly entrenched in the pandering camp. Then you have items like green chicken curry that seem (to someone who's never been to Taiwan) authentic. I hope I'm not painting this in a bad light. Regardless of whether the meal is authentic or not the food is really nice. If you want some good authentic Thai food then choose carefully or ask the staff. If you're not concerned one way or the other then you'll get a good feed, no matter what you choose.

It's not the best yum cha I've ever had, it's not even the best yum cha I've had in Adelaide, but it's still one of my favourite lunch options along Rundle and I've always been happy with the food. The system doesn't quite work in a food court setting; I think this is their major downfall. I usually order bbq pork buns, prawn rice noodle rolls, and xiao long bao (they call them Shanghai juicy dumplings--they're dumplings with a soupy liquid inside them). Unfortunately the xiao long bao always seem to take quite a while, and it means I usually get given one dish at a time. It's difficult to keep on track with the progress of your whole order while you're also trying to eat your current dish before it gets cold. It's made even harder when it's busy and it's difficult getting a seat nearby. But seriously, the last time I had a bbq pork bun from Rundle Mall it was a gluggy bun filled with a grey solid mass or pork--not what you have in mind. Tea House Yum Cha does everything right and I've always found everything to be tasty. They definitely don't do everything the best, and there are a few bits and pieces I would change, but for price and location I praise the fact that they've set up shop in Rundle Place. If you're after quick-ish yum cha without heading to Gouger Street/the Central Market then I stand by Tea House Yum Cha.

Khim Thai is one of those places I've driven past time after time but never stopped by. It's on the corner of Regency Rd and Prospect Rd, both of which are very busy at the best of times. One evening I decided I had to try it, and ordered a take away. I judge a good Thai restaurant on the pandan chicken, of which I can say that this one is pretty good. Lots of flavour but a little greasy. Same could be said about the rest of the food I ordered. The flavour is there, but does it need to be so oily? It's not bad food, and if they could do something about the grease I would happily go again.

Mind you the fact that they call themselves a 'Chinese Australian' restaurant makes it clear that if you're looking for traditional Chinese this is not the place for you. (It took us 3 go's to get some chinese tea and the tea pot looked very unused and chopsticks were no where to be seen) The garlic prawns were the plumpest tastiest prawns I have had in a long time. The batter on the lemon chicken was a bit dense, but the light tangy lemon sauce made up for it. The vegies in the black bean were crisp and cooked to perfection. The place was chock o'block so we were expecting delays, but were pleasantly surprised. We had 15 people at the table and despite a little confusion the staff managed to get all our drink orders in a relatively timely manner. The food was more than enough for all of us. The highlight of the night was the dancing lion. Very fun and entertaining. Would definitely recommend it for your New Year celebrations next year.

Some dishes I've had I've seen done better, but this is at more expensive restaurants. For those who've read other reviews of mine YES the satay is very nice.
