But there has to be a better place for coffee or dessert in downtown Gainesville. The coffee tasted ancient and bitter, sitting in a carafe by the cash register. The smoothie that my daughter ordered was watery on top and chunky at the bottom. The gal who served us didn't make eye contact nor smile. I came on a sale day and got my 2nd book for half off. There was a good selection of almost all genres. My only complaint is the children's book section; it's full of outdated books. They need to get rid of those and update the section if they want to make any money there.

The associates (or the majority) here are friendly and smiley. I enjoy shopping at a business that has good customer service skills. I'm there for a pleasant shopping experience, not to be growled at or ignored by employees. The associates working the fitting rooms are the sweetest! The store is very neat and orderly, and most things are priced and labeled correctly. There are plenty of parking spaces since the store is located in a large shopping complex.

I am a new person in town and this little store is a…read morequick stop on my way home over the last 10 months. on one of my early visits I found my favorite sweet tarts that most store do not carry anymore. YES THAT'S ME.... I purchase 10 at a time at every visit because I'm afraid that one day they will stop carrying them. Everyone that works there now knows me as the "sweet tarts lady" as soon as they see me put down the handful sweet tarts at the register....not by face recognition, it's quiet funny. Tonights visit the shelf was down to 2 packs, usually there's always a case full. I said oh no my sad day has come. There was a person at the register I've never met before kindly he said maybe check the candy isle I kindly responded they usually don't keep them over in the food isle, they're always displayed at the front register candy area. Then to my surprise another man comes around the corner who I recognized (store manager?) He saw me and remembered me as the lady who loves those sweet tarts and kindly told me that he had placed the new box on shelf just for ME. It's always a pleasant personable, and friendly experience from ALL the employees that work at this location. When you order everything online you miss out on the genuine customer service experience and real life people working hard for a living with a caring attitude. 10 stars for this store!! Not one thing I needed could be found (I'm sure they where in those stacked boxes) the sweet girl working said that they had plenty of help but no hours for them to get anything done!! I said well when one of those boxes falls on someone & injures them then I'm sure there will be no store to work at after the huge lawsuit that will be coming!! Dollar General really needs to get there act together!!!
